Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

YouTube publishes those values for stereo live encoding; it does not specify a different bitrate for Indian classical music or for a 24/7 schedule.
Recommended OBS audio settings for YouTube Live
Use these settings for stereo audio sent to YouTube Live:
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Streaming audio bitrate | 128 Kbps | YouTube’s published recommendation for stereo live audio. YouTube encoder settings |
| Audio codec | AAC | YouTube lists AAC and MP3 as supported RTMP/RTMPS audio codecs. OBS describes AAC as its default, widely supported format. OBS audio formats |
| Sample rate | 44.1 kHz | YouTube’s published recommendation for stereo audio. YouTube encoder settings |
| Channel layout | Stereo | The bitrate and sample-rate values above are YouTube’s stereo recommendations. |
These are platform encoder recommendations, not results from genre-specific listening tests. Raising the bitrate above the published stereo target is not automatically an audio-quality improvement.
Set the bitrate and sample rate in OBS
- Set the streaming bitrate: Open Settings → Output and find the streaming audio bitrate control. Set it to 128 Kbps. OBS labels and available controls can vary by version and output mode.
- Set the sample rate: Open OBS audio settings and choose 44.1 kHz.
- Check the codec and channel layout: Confirm the streaming output uses AAC and sends stereo audio. YouTube accepts AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS ingest; AAC is the straightforward compatibility choice for this setup.
- Test before relying on the stream: Run representative music through the complete setup, then check YouTube’s stream health and messages before and during the broadcast.
YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the stream data into and through Google’s servers. YouTube also transcodes live streams into multiple output formats for viewers. YouTube encoder settings

What a 24/7 Indian classical stream changes—and what it does not
The official encoder guidance reviewed here does not give Indian classical music, instrumental passages, or continuous broadcasts a special audio bitrate. For stereo YouTube Live, use the same published 128 Kbps recommendation. A 24/7 schedule makes stability and monitoring important, but it does not itself call for a higher audio bitrate.
Choose an overall stream quality your internet connection can reliably sustain. Test with representative audio and movement, and monitor stream health and messages during the event. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance

Troubleshooting audio setup
- The stream sounds wrong or has no audio: Check that OBS is sending the intended audio source, the output is stereo, and the encoder is set to AAC. Confirm the selected source is active during playback.
- YouTube reports stream-health problems: Review YouTube’s health messages, verify the configured codec and audio settings, and check that your upload connection can sustain the stream reliably. The API documentation lists codec and stream-health checks, but any particular warning depends on the account and ingest configuration. YouTube Live Streaming API: liveStreams
- The OBS control or label does not match these directions: OBS options can differ by version and output mode. Locate the streaming audio bitrate under Output settings and the sample rate in audio settings; consult the documentation for your installed OBS version if the controls differ.
- You are streaming somewhere other than YouTube Live: These bitrate and sample-rate recommendations are scoped to YouTube. Check the destination platform’s current encoder requirements before choosing settings.
