Build a Pabbly Connect workflow with a website or webhook trigger, a webpage screenshot action, and a WhatsApp provider that explicitly supports sending images to your intended group. The key limitation is that a WhatsApp image action for an individual recipient does not establish group support. Pabbly lists a WhatsScale action named “Send Image To Group”; verify that it is available to your account and works with the specific group before relying on it.
How the workflow fits together
Pabbly Connect workflows start with a trigger and continue through one or more actions. For this use case, the flow is:
- Trigger: a website event or an incoming webhook tells Pabbly when to run.
- Screenshot: a screenshot service captures the webpage URL as an image.
- Delivery: a WhatsApp connector sends that image, or a publicly accessible image URL, to the intended group.
These are separate capabilities: a screenshot step can capture a URL, but it does not determine whether the WhatsApp provider can post to a group. Check group compatibility before building around a particular connector.
Set up the Pabbly Connect workflow
1. Choose the trigger
Create a workflow in Pabbly Connect and select the event that should initiate it. If your website can send a webhook, Pabbly’s tutorial uses Web by Pabbly: generate the webhook URL, configure the website form or event to call it, and send a test event so Pabbly can capture the fields. You can then map the page URL from the incoming data to the screenshot step.

If the site’s event does not provide a URL, decide where the page URL will come from—for example, a fixed page configured in the workflow or a URL field submitted with the event. Make sure the value being passed is the page you actually want captured.
2. Capture the webpage
Add the HTML to Image screenshot action called Capture Website Screenshot, then map the webpage URL into its URL input. Pabbly’s integration listing describes this action as capturing a screenshot from a website URL. It also lists a separate Generate Image from HTML and CSS action; use that only if your input is HTML/CSS rather than a live webpage address.

3. Confirm that the image can reach the WhatsApp step
Inspect the screenshot action’s test output. The next step needs either the image itself in a format the chosen connector accepts or an image URL that the connector can retrieve. Pabbly’s demonstrated website-to-WhatsApp route requires a publicly accessible image URL. Do not assume a file stored privately or a temporary internal result will be accessible to the WhatsApp provider.
If the action returns a URL, test that it can be opened by the delivery service without your Pabbly login or other private session. If it returns file data rather than a URL, check the WhatsApp action’s accepted input type and map the output accordingly.

4. Select a group-capable WhatsApp action
Choose a connector and action whose listing explicitly says it sends an image to a group. Pabbly lists WhatsScale — Send Image To Group. Connect the required account, select or provide the target group as the action expects, and map the screenshot output or publicly accessible image URL into the image field.
Do not substitute a generic WhatsApp Cloud API media action without checking its destination support. Pabbly’s Cloud API tutorial demonstrates a template-message route that maps an image URL and a recipient number; it does not establish that the action can post to any existing WhatsApp group. Likewise, Pabbly’s D7/HTML to Image listing includes media actions, but that is a distinct integration from the WhatsScale group-image listing.

5. Test before enabling the workflow
- Use a test event and a group where you are permitted to post.
- Run the workflow once and check each step’s input and output.
- Confirm the message arrives in the intended group as an image, not merely as an unusable URL or missing attachment.
- Check that the screenshot shows the expected page and is legible on a phone.
- Only then enable the workflow for the real website event.

Troubleshooting
- The workflow does not start: check that the website event is calling the generated Web by Pabbly webhook URL and send a fresh test event to capture its fields.
- The screenshot step has no page URL: inspect the trigger output and map the actual URL field, or configure the page URL directly if the trigger does not supply one.
- The WhatsApp step cannot retrieve the image: confirm that the screenshot output is a URL the delivery service can access publicly, as required by Pabbly’s demonstrated delivery route. If the output is file data, verify that the action accepts that format instead.
- The image arrives to a person but not the group: verify the connector’s group-specific action and eligibility with the provider. An individual-recipient media action is not proof of group sending.
- The wrong integration action appears: distinguish the separate WhatsScale “Send Image To Group” listing from the D7/HTML to Image integration’s media actions; do not infer group support from the latter.
- The image is missing or unreadable: test the complete chain with a permitted group, inspect the screenshot output, and confirm the selected WhatsApp action receives the mapped image or accessible image URL.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Pabbly Connect send a screenshot to any WhatsApp group?
No universal group capability is established by the integrations described here. Confirm support for the exact group with the selected connector and account.
Does a WhatsApp Cloud API image action prove group support?
No. The Pabbly Cloud API tutorial describes mapping an image URL to a recipient number; that does not establish posting to an arbitrary existing group.
