In Gray Zone Warfare’s Update 0.4, you can trade items with vendors to earn vendor reputation and progress; the announced Update 0.5 smuggling activities are a separate, future feature. As of October 3, 2026, Rogue Ops is not live, and MADFINGER has not published where contraband will appear or how players will transport or sell it. The planned Update 0.5 launch is October 22, with Supporter Preview beginning October 19; check for updated dates and instructions after launch.

What you can sell in the current Update 0.4 system

Update 0.4 documents item trading with vendors as part of vendor progression. Trading items and completing tasks earn vendor reputation; higher vendor levels unlock regions, more challenging and rewarding tasks, and access to better weapons, gear, and items. MADFINGER’s March 18, 2026 devlog says the game has more than 250 tasks after Update 0.4.

The Update 0.4 launch notes also describe reworked vendor stock and progression, including that vendors no longer sell limited quantities. This is the regular vendor-trading system—not evidence that the later rogue-PMC smuggling loop is already playable.

How the announced Update 0.5 smuggling feature differs

In its October 1, 2026 teaser, MADFINGER Games announced Update 0.5: Rogue Ops, describing a new gameplay loop centered on crafting and building a Hideout, alongside the opportunity to play as a rogue PMC participating in “completely new smuggling activities.” The announcement is about a planned update, not a set of live instructions for finding contraband.

What to do with items before selling

Sell through the current vendor-trading system when you want to trade items and build vendor reputation. Check an item’s purpose before parting with it: an April 2026 community new-player guide advises keeping keys and task-related objects until their relevance is known. That is community advice rather than an official rule, so verify an item in your current tasks or reliable game information before selling it.

Do not rely on an old price list as permanent. MADFINGER’s May 14 Patch 0.4.2 notes specifically changed the ATM hacking tool’s sell price, showing that values can shift between patches. Any price guidance should be checked against the current game version; the Update 0.5 teaser provides no smuggling prices.
