Accept the site’s cookie banner first, wait for it to disappear and the page to settle, then capture the page. For a visible-area screenshot, press Shift-Command-4 and drag over the webpage. For more capture choices, press Shift-Command-5 to open macOS Screenshot.
Accept the cookie banner, then capture the page
- Open the webpage in your browser and use the site’s own cookie-banner control to accept or dismiss it. The control varies by site, so there is no universal Mac shortcut or menu for accepting consent.
- Wait until the banner disappears and the page has finished changing. If the page shifts after the banner closes, position it as you want it to appear in the screenshot.
- For only the visible webpage area, press Shift-Command-4. Drag the crosshair around the page content and release to take the screenshot. This captures a selected portion of the screen, not content below the fold. Apple documents the selected-area and window capture shortcuts.
- To choose among capture modes, press Shift-Command-5. In Screenshot, choose the entire screen, a window, or a selected portion. Its Options include a save location, timer, and whether to show the pointer. Apple’s Mac Screenshot guide describes these controls.
- To capture a browser window, press Shift-Command-4, then press Space and click the window. A window capture may include tabs and browser controls; use a selected area if you want just the page.
- After capture, open the thumbnail that appears to edit or share the image, or let macOS save it.
Capture the whole webpage, including below the fold
The built-in Mac screenshot modes capture the screen, a window, or a selected visible area. For a page that continues below the fold, use a browser’s full-page screenshot feature if available. Browser menus and features can change, so check the current interface in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox rather than relying on a menu path that may have changed.
Prepare long or dynamic pages
Some pages load images and other content only as you scroll. Before taking a full-page capture, scroll through the page so those elements have a chance to load, then inspect the resulting image for missing or shifted content. Full-page capture behavior can vary with the browser and page.
Screenshot image or saved webpage?
If you need an image of the page as it appears after consent, use a screenshot method. Safari’s File > Save As saves a webpage as a Web Archive or Page Source, not as a screenshot image. Apple describes the Web Archive as preserving page graphics and links, while Page Source saves HTML. See Apple’s Safari instructions.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It also reports whether a response was a cache hit, failed load, blank page, bot check, or CAPTCHA, and only clean shots are billed.
