YouTube Studio schedules livestreams one event at a time; it does not provide a documented playlist-wide or recurring playlist scheduler. To run a series around Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+05:30), plan each event’s date and time in IST, schedule each stream separately in Live Control Room, verify the time shown in Studio, then share each scheduled watch-page link with “IST / UTC+05:30” clearly stated.
Can you schedule a YouTube Live playlist?
Not as one scheduled playlist, according to YouTube’s live-stream instructions. Schedule each livestream as its own event. You can reuse settings from a previous stream, but that is not the same as scheduling a playlist or setting a recurring series. YouTube’s instructions describe the individual-event workflow: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and Manage live stream settings.
Check that your channel can go live
Before planning a series, confirm that the channel is verified and has had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube also requires streamers to be at least 16 years old. Review YouTube’s current eligibility information at Get started with live streaming.
Plan a sustainable schedule in IST
Choose a cadence you can maintain, such as a fixed weekly day and time, before creating individual events. YouTube recommends considering frequency, consistency, content volume, and production cost against the likely audience and return; it also advises communicating the schedule and changes. Its live-stream upload schedule tips describe a consistent, sustainable schedule as important for audience expectations and creator well-being.

Use IST (UTC+05:30) in your planning calendar. The live-stream scheduling guidance reviewed does not establish that Live Control Room offers an IST selector or explain its timezone behavior. Do not assume the live scheduler has the timezone control described in YouTube’s separate scheduled video publishing workflow. Check the date and time displayed in Studio before saving, and verify that they correspond to the intended IST moment.
Schedule each livestream in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, then open Manage.
- Start a scheduled event. Select Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings from a previous one.
- Enter and verify the date and time. Work from the intended IST date and time, inspect what Studio displays, and confirm the event is set for the correct moment before saving.
- Save and share the event page. Copy the scheduled watch-page URL. Scheduled streams can appear as upcoming, and viewers may be able to select Notify me.
- Repeat for every event. Create a separate scheduled stream for each playlist entry or livestream in the series; settings reuse does not schedule the remaining events automatically.
Tell viewers the time and link clearly
State the timezone beside every time, including in announcements and calendar entries—for example, “8:00 p.m. IST / UTC+05:30”—and include that stream’s scheduled watch-page link. This reduces ambiguity for viewers outside India and gives viewers who see an upcoming event the opportunity to use YouTube’s reminder option. If the time changes, update the event and communicate the change through the channels where you shared the schedule.

Connect an encoder when your stream uses one
For an encoder-based livestream, copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the encoder’s corresponding server and key settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with viewers. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover scheduling and connecting the encoder.
Use Live Redirect for a handoff, not playlist scheduling
Live Redirect can send viewers from one stream at its end to a Premiere or another livestream. It connects a handoff; it does not schedule a playlist or make a series recurring. YouTube says a channel sending a redirect needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Sending viewers to another channel’s livestream requires that channel’s permission. Check YouTube Live Redirect requirements before relying on the feature.
