YouTube does not document a feature that automatically publishes a whole playlist on a recurring weekday schedule. Instead, schedule each devotional video individually for its date, time, and time zone, then add it to the relevant weekday or theme playlist. Plan the calendar in IST and confirm the time zone in YouTube Studio before saving.
Plan a weekly devotional publishing calendar
Start with a schedule your channel can maintain. YouTube recommends weighing frequency, consistency, content volume, and production time, and planning ahead for coming weeks or months. There is no universally best weekday or prayer hour established for devotional videos; use your community’s needs and your own channel analytics to choose.
- Set the intended IST release time. Make a list of the weekday, devotional theme, video, and planned publication time. India Standard Time is UTC+05:30; the cited Indian government document stating this is a draft rules document.
- Prepare the videos in advance. Allow enough time to upload and complete the details before each scheduled release.
- Choose a playlist structure. Use weekday playlists, such as Monday or Friday, or organize by theme. A video can be added to a playlist during upload or later through playlist management.
Schedule each video in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and start uploading the prepared video.
- Complete the video details and select the appropriate visibility and scheduling options in the upload flow.
- Choose Schedule, then set the intended publication date, time, and time zone. Check the time zone deliberately rather than assuming the displayed time is IST.
- Save the schedule. YouTube says a scheduled video remains private until its scheduled publication time, when it becomes public.
- Add the video to its intended weekday or theme playlist in the upload details. If you prefer, create or edit the playlist separately and reorder its videos there.
- Review the video’s scheduled date and time in Studio. Repeat these steps for every video in the weekly calendar.
The scheduling unit described in YouTube Help is an individual video. Playlist creation and management are separate, so adding several videos to a playlist does not create a recurring playlist publication schedule. YouTube’s scheduling instructions and playlist guidance cover these separate tasks.
Use the right playlist type
Weekday or theme playlist
For a collection viewers can browse by day or devotional theme, create a standard playlist, add the relevant videos, and arrange them in the order you want. Playlist organization does not control when those videos become public.

Series playlist for an ordered sequence
If the videos are a formal sequence intended to be watched together, consider setting the playlist as an official Series playlist. YouTube requires a verified account, and a video can belong to only one Series playlist. Check eligibility and the current Studio options before using this format. YouTube’s Series playlist guidance explains the restrictions.
Choose between scheduled publication and a Premiere

A Premiere may call for advance promotion so viewers can find the watch page and set reminders. Use ordinary scheduling when the main goal is simply to publish a recording at the chosen time.

Promote the weekly schedule separately
You can schedule a Community post to announce the program and include a link to the playlist. The post promotes the schedule; it does not schedule the videos or make a playlist publish. See YouTube’s Community post guidance for current posting options.
Check the date shown to viewers
YouTube says the “Published on” date on a watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). For a release scheduled in a time zone ahead of PST, the date shown beneath the video can differ from the date you see in Studio. If the calendar date matters, consult YouTube’s scheduling guidance and verify the planned date in the interface.

Keep a YouTube channel live between devotional releases
Scheduling individual uploads makes recordings available at chosen times; it does not keep a continuous live stream running. Troubleshoot scheduling and playlist issues
- The playlist did not publish at the scheduled time: playlists are managed separately from video schedules. Open each video’s visibility and schedule settings in Studio and confirm it has its own publication date and time.
- The video appears private before release: that is expected for a scheduled video. YouTube keeps it private until the scheduled publication.
- The watch-page date differs from the Studio date: YouTube bases the displayed “Published on” date on PST. Check the selected time zone and the date shown in Studio.
- The video is missing from the intended playlist: edit the playlist or the video’s details, add it to the correct weekday or theme playlist, and check its position.
- You cannot set a video as an official Series playlist item: check that the account is verified and that the video is not already assigned to another Series playlist.
- Viewers cannot find the upcoming release: consider a Premiere if a shared start is important, or schedule a Community post with the playlist URL as a separate announcement.
