To schedule a YouTube Premiere, upload your video in YouTube Studio, choose Schedule under Visibility, set the date and time, and check Set as Premiere. You can then share the public watch page in advance so viewers can set reminders and join the countdown and live chat.
Schedule a Premiere while uploading in YouTube Studio

Sign in to YouTube Studio and select Create → Upload videos.

Select the video file, then enter its title, description, thumbnail, and other video details as needed.

Continue through the upload steps to Visibility. Choose Schedule, then select the date and time you want the video to premiere.

Check Set as Premiere. To customize the event, select Set up Premiere and choose a countdown theme and length.

Select Done or Schedule to finish. The exact button shown can depend on the current Studio interface.
You can also schedule a Premiere during upload in the YouTube app: on the Set visibility page, choose Set as Premiere. See YouTube’s Premiere instructions for the current interface details.
What happens before, during, and after the Premiere
Before it starts
YouTube creates a public watch page for the scheduled Premiere before the event begins. Share that page URL so viewers can set a reminder, comment, or participate in chat. YouTube recommends scheduling at least 24 hours ahead to give viewers around the world a chance to see the thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. A clear thumbnail and advance promotion can help viewers find the event. YouTube says reminder notifications arrive about 30 minutes before the Premiere and again when it starts. At the scheduled time
The selected countdown plays, followed by the video, which viewers watch together in real time. Viewers can rewind to a point that has already played, but they cannot skip ahead past the live point. The creator can join chat, moderate, answer questions, or add commentary while the video plays.
After it ends
The video remains on the channel as a regular upload. YouTube says chat replay is available and the Premiere’s view count transfers to the video.
Choose the right release option

Configure countdowns, trailers, and interaction
Countdown theme and length
During Premiere setup, choose the countdown theme and length you want. YouTube’s customization guidance says the countdown appears two minutes before the Premiere, with the selected length determining the countdown. See YouTube’s Premiere customization instructions.

Optional trailer
A trailer can play on the watch page before the Premiere, but the feature is limited to creators with more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. The trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long, comply with YouTube’s rights and Community Guidelines requirements, and must not be a video that has previously premiered. Check YouTube’s current customization guidance for details.
Ads, Supers, and members-only chat
Eligible channels can run pre-roll ads during a Premiere; mid-roll and post-roll ads are unavailable during it. Eligible creators may also enable Super Chat and Super Stickers, and eligible channels can offer perks such as members-only chat. Availability depends on channel eligibility and YouTube’s current rules; see YouTube’s Premiere customization instructions.

Shorts: YouTube Premieres do not support Shorts.

Resolution and immersive formats: YouTube’s Premiere help says output above 1080p, 360 video, and VR180 are unsupported.

Community Guidelines strike: If your account has a strike, a Premiere will not publish during the penalty period. YouTube says it is set to private and must be rescheduled after the freeze period.

Review YouTube’s Premiere requirements before scheduling if your video uses an unusual format or your channel has an active penalty.

Edit the time in Studio

In YouTube Studio, open Content and select the video.

Choose Edit → Visibility.

Under Schedule, change the date or time and save the change.

Why the watch-page date may look different
YouTube displays the public watch-page date using Pacific Standard Time (PST). If you schedule from a time zone ahead of PST, the date shown publicly can differ from the date you see in Studio. Check the scheduled time and time zone in Studio before changing it; the discrepancy may be a display-time-zone difference rather than a scheduling error. YouTube explains this in its publish-time guidance.
Common problems and fixes

The video is scheduled, but there is no countdown or Premiere watch page. Check Visibility and confirm that Set as Premiere was selected. A regular scheduled publication is not a Premiere.

The Premiere option is unavailable or the event will not publish. Check that the video is not a Short, above 1080p, 360, or VR180. If the channel has a Community Guidelines strike, YouTube may set the event to private during the penalty period; reschedule after the freeze period.

The public date differs from Studio. Compare the scheduled time with the watch page’s PST-based date display before editing the schedule.

A trailer option is missing. YouTube limits trailers to creators with more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Confirm that the proposed trailer meets the duration and content requirements.

Viewers say they did not get a reminder. YouTube describes reminder notifications as arriving about 30 minutes before the event and at its start. Encourage viewers to use the reminder control on the public watch page; notifications are not a substitute for sharing the event link.
