Scheduling a YouTube live stream creates an upcoming event, not an automatic 24/7 broadcast. To run a nonstop aarti channel, schedule the event in YouTube Studio, send its feed from an encoder or cloud playout service, and plan for outages, copyright checks, and recordings. You can run the encoder yourself or use StreamNeo to loop uploaded videos from the cloud to YouTube.
What scheduling does—and what it does not do
A scheduled stream gives viewers an upcoming event they can find and, where available, set a reminder for. It does not start sending video by itself. When it is time to broadcast, an encoder or streaming service must send video and audio to YouTube using the event’s stream URL and key. A nonstop channel therefore needs a continuous source and a way to keep that transmission running.
For aarti, the source might be a live camera and audio setup, or prerecorded material that you have the rights to broadcast. The steps below explain YouTube’s scheduled-event workflow; your playout method determines whether the feed continues when a local computer, power supply, or internet connection fails.
Before you schedule the event
Enable live streaming early
Your channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. See YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.

Gather the source and rights information
Prepare the video and audio source, title, description, and intended visibility. If you use recordings, confirm that you have rights for the specific performance, recording, backing track, images, and any venue or broadcast permissions that apply. A devotional or traditional subject does not automatically grant permission to stream a particular recording.
Choose how the feed will be sent
YouTube supports software and hardware encoders; a dedicated hardware encoder is optional, not a requirement for every channel. A local encoder depends on the computer and its internet connection staying available. A cloud playout service can instead send uploaded video from its infrastructure. Google’s API documentation recognizes a 24/7 feed as a use case, but it does not promise uninterrupted uptime or automatic recovery for every setup.

Schedule a YouTube live event and start it
- Open live controls: In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live. Open the Manage tab and choose the option to schedule a stream.
- Set up the event: Enter the title and description, choose visibility, and set the date and time and other available stream settings. The event can appear as upcoming so viewers can find it and request a reminder.
- Copy the connection details: Open the scheduled event’s stream settings and copy its stream URL and stream key into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: someone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. YouTube’s encoder setup guide and stream settings guidance describe the connection process.
- Configure and start the encoder: Select the event in your encoder if it offers that option, or enter the copied URL and key. Start sending the feed ahead of the event time so you can check it before viewers arrive.
- Check the preview: In Live Control Room, confirm that video appears and that the audio is audible and correctly balanced. Check the feed from a viewer’s perspective where possible. YouTube recommends testing the setup and checking that a local recording is being created when using a local workflow.
- Go live: When the preview and audio are right, select Go live in Live Control Room if the event requires it. Keep the encoder transmitting for the duration of the broadcast.
Interface labels can change. YouTube’s current stream settings page covers settings such as stream latency and encoder configuration; use the values and options displayed for your event and encoder rather than assuming one configuration fits every source.
Keep a scheduled aarti feed running
Account for the whole transmission chain
A nonstop broadcast relies on every part of the chain: the video or camera source, audio, encoder or playout service, power, network connection, and YouTube event. Decide who will monitor the stream and what they should do if the preview, audio, or transmission stops. For a local setup, plan how to restore power or internet and restart the encoder. For any setup, define who can access the stream key and how to respond if it is exposed.

Use monitoring and a recovery procedure
Check the broadcast after launch and at intervals appropriate for your team. Keep a clear restart and escalation procedure, and test it before relying on the channel for a long service. Do not assume that a scheduled event restarts itself after an outage: scheduling an event and maintaining a continuous transmission are separate jobs. YouTube’s live-stream tips offer operational guidance, while its Live Streaming API documentation describes continuous-feed use cases without guaranteeing uninterrupted operation.
Plan recordings and late arrivals
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep an independent local recording if the replay matters. YouTube also warns that DVR pause and rewind can be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. If a dependable replay or rewind experience is important, consider ending the broadcast and scheduling shorter sessions, while preserving an independent recording. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance and DVR guidance.

Clear copyright and broadcast rights
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies a match, a placeholder may replace the stream; if the material remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even licensed third-party material may require the rights holder to add your channel to a Content ID allowlist. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
YouTube’s livestream terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” The rights position for a particular aarti broadcast depends on the actual recordings, rights holders, and intended territories; seek appropriate permission where needed.

Choose a way to operate the stream
| Approach | What it changes | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a computer | Sends a camera, audio, or media source from a local computer to the scheduled YouTube event. | The computer, power, and local internet connection must remain available; arrange monitoring, recording, and restart steps. |
| Hardware encoder | Uses a dedicated encoding device instead of general-purpose computer software. | YouTube lists hardware encoders as an option and recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events. Hardware is not mandatory for a simple feed; it still needs a source, network, and operating plan. See YouTube’s encoder guidance. |
| StreamNeo cloud playout | Loops uploaded videos to a YouTube channel from the cloud, so a home computer does not have to stay on. | It is for uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support. See StreamNeo. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your aarti channel can use uploaded recordings rather than a live camera feed, StreamNeo is a cloud option for keeping a YouTube stream going. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud.
- Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream runs from the cloud.
- Videos stream as uploaded, at any quality up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free, with no card required.
- Monthly: $9.99 per month.
Check that you have rights to every recording and playlist item before broadcasting. Start your free StreamNeo day.
Quick Recap
Troubleshoot common problems
- The channel cannot schedule or start a live stream: Verify the channel, check for a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The scheduled event is visible, but no video appears: Scheduling does not send the feed. Start the encoder or cloud playout and check that it uses the scheduled event’s stream URL and key.
- The encoder is sending, but the preview is missing or wrong: Recheck the selected event, stream URL, key, source, and encoder connection. Confirm that the encoder is actually transmitting, then wait for the preview and inspect it before selecting Go live.
- Viewers report silence or poor audio: Check the source and encoder audio input, monitor the Live Control Room preview, and verify the sound from a viewer’s perspective before leaving the broadcast unattended.
- The stream is interrupted after music or video begins: A Content ID match can cause a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Confirm the relevant rights and allowlisting with the rights holder; do not assume that religious content or a purchase of a recording grants broadcast rights.
- The long stream has no replay, or viewers cannot rewind: Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be archived, and DVR may be limited or unavailable. Keep a separate recording and use shorter sessions if archive or rewind access is required.
- The feed stops after a local outage: Restore the computer, power, or network, then restart the encoder and verify the preview and event state. A scheduled event alone does not provide a failover transmission.
