To keep a Reddit page, choose the kind of copy you need: Reddit’s Save command bookmarks a post in your account; a browser screenshot makes a local image; printing to PDF makes a local document; and the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine can create an online archived copy. These are not interchangeable. Before you finish, check that the saved result includes the post and any comments or context you need.
Choose the right way to keep a Reddit page

Bookmark a post in Reddit
- On reddit.com or in the Reddit app, open the post’s overflow menu.
- Select Save.
- To find it later, open your profile and select Saved. In the mobile apps, Reddit’s help instructions describe opening the profile menu and choosing Saved.
This saves a bookmark to your Reddit account; it does not export the thread to your device. Reddit’s help article was updated February 27, 2026. See Reddit’s instructions.
Take a screenshot of a Reddit page
- Open the post in a browser that offers a full-page screenshot feature.
- Load the parts you want to preserve. Expand relevant comment threads and wait for content or images to appear.
- Use the browser’s screenshot command and select its full-page option, if available.
- Save the image and open it to confirm the post and required context are visible.
Screenshot controls differ by browser and device. Mozilla documents a Firefox workflow for downloading screenshots as image files, but that does not establish identical controls in every browser. Firefox screenshot help. Text in an image may be less convenient to search or select than text in a document.
Save a Reddit page as a PDF
- Open the page in your browser and use its print command.
- In the print dialog, select a PDF destination such as Save as PDF, if your browser and device offer it.
- Review the print preview before saving. Check that the post title and body, images if needed, and the comments or context you want are present.
- Save the file, then open the PDF and inspect its pages and page breaks.
The exact controls depend on your browser, operating system and device. Browser printing may not reproduce every Reddit layout completely or identically, so do not assume the PDF contains content that was collapsed, had not loaded, or was omitted from the preview.

Submit a page to the Wayback Machine
- Open the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine and use Save Page Now.
- Submit the Reddit page’s URL through that workflow.
- When the submission is complete, open the resulting archived page and check what is available.
This creates an online archive copy rather than a local file for your own use. The available instructions do not establish that private, login-gated or dynamically loaded Reddit content will be captured. Check what the saved copy actually contains
- Post: Is the title and full post body there?
- Comments: Are the specific comments you need visible, rather than collapsed or still loading?
- Images and context: Did the image load, and does the saved copy include enough surrounding context to make sense later?
- Format: A screenshot is an image, a PDF is a local document, a Reddit Save is an account bookmark, and a Wayback capture is an online archive entry.
Do not assume a bookmark, screenshot, printout or archive has the same contents as the live page. Inspect the particular result before relying on it.

Optional: third-party Reddit-to-PDF extensions
Browser extensions are another possible route, but they are third-party software, not an official Reddit export feature. A Chrome Web Store listing for Reddit to PDF Saver says it can capture a thread and create a PDF; that is the publisher’s claim, not a verified guarantee. Before installing any extension, review its current permissions, publisher, privacy disclosures and compatibility with your browser.
