To save an Awesome Screenshot capture as a PDF, use More > Download as PDF for a screenshot saved to AwesomeScreenshot.com Cloud. For a screenshot saved locally, select PDF beside the capture. If that local PDF option is missing, turn off Auto-download screenshots in Options.
Capture the page or screen
- Open the Awesome Screenshot extension or add-on.
- Select Capture, then choose the capture mode you need.
- Optionally annotate the capture, then choose Save or Done. The extension’s official walkthrough describes these steps in more detail: How to take a screenshot with the Awesome Screenshot extension/add-on.
Download a cloud-saved capture as a PDF
- Find the screenshot saved to AwesomeScreenshot.com Cloud.
- Select More beside the capture.
- Choose Download as PDF. The PDF downloads to your computer.
These cloud-export steps are documented in the Awesome Screenshot PDF download guide, updated January 16, 2025.
Save a locally stored capture as a PDF
- After capture, select PDF beside the screenshot.
- If the PDF control is not shown, open Options and turn off Auto-download screenshots, then check the capture again.
According to the same help article, auto-download prevents the local PDF option from appearing. Downloads is the default destination described in the guide; you can choose another folder, or change the browser’s default download location.
Export a full-page capture
Choose the full-page mode for your browser first, then use the cloud or local PDF export route above. The documented labels differ by browser:

Troubleshoot a missing PDF or download
- No PDF option beside a local capture: turn off Auto-download screenshots in Options. The help article identifies this setting as the reason the local PDF option may not appear.
- Can’t find the downloaded file: check the Downloads folder first. If you selected a different destination, check that folder instead.
- Full page was not captured: take the capture again using the full-page command for your browser, then export it using the appropriate cloud or local route.
- Labels do not match: extension interfaces can change; consult the current official help pages linked above for the latest documented steps.
The cited instructions explain how to export the PDF, but do not establish whether the exported file is searchable or specify its internal resolution. Do not assume either property from the export option alone.
