Save the webpage that is open in your browser
- Open the Aadhaar portal page you want to preserve.
- Open the browser’s Print command.
- In the print dialog, choose the PDF or Save to PDF destination rather than a physical printer.
- Choose any available page or layout settings you need, then select the save option and choose where to store the PDF.
Menu names and locations vary by browser and operating system, so use the print dialog available on your device. This creates a PDF copy of the webpage; it does not download or authenticate an Aadhaar document.
Webpage PDF or official e-Aadhaar?
These are different files for different purposes. A browser print-to-PDF file preserves the page as displayed. To obtain the official electronic Aadhaar document, use UIDAI’s MyAadhaar service or the mAadhaar app. UIDAI’s FAQ says e-Aadhaar can be requested using an Aadhaar number, enrolment number, or VID, with an OTP sent to the registered mobile number: UIDAI Aadhaar Online Services FAQ.
What to know about e-Aadhaar
- UIDAI describes e-Aadhaar as a password-protected PDF digitally signed by UIDAI. The same FAQ states that it is equally valid as a physical Aadhaar copy for all purposes: UIDAI e-Aadhaar FAQ.
- You can choose masked Aadhaar if you want the downloaded document to show only the last four digits of the Aadhaar number. UIDAI’s MyAadhaar listing identifies the masked Aadhaar download as free and requiring mobile OTP; it was last updated June 26, 2026: MyAadhaar services.
- UIDAI’s online-services FAQ says Adobe Reader is needed to view a digitally verified e-Aadhaar PDF. This applies to the official document, not to a PDF you create from a webpage.
UIDAI also has an older service description with a detailed enrolment-ID workflow. Its current applicability is not established, so use the current MyAadhaar or mAadhaar route rather than relying on that older sequence: UIDAI e-Aadhaar service description.

Troubleshooting
- The result is a webpage PDF, not Aadhaar. Use MyAadhaar or mAadhaar to download the official e-Aadhaar PDF.
- The saved page is blank or incomplete. Check that the page finished loading before opening Print, then try printing again. A browser’s print preview can help reveal what will be included.
- The official e-Aadhaar PDF will not open or verify. UIDAI’s FAQ recommends Adobe Reader for viewing the digitally verified file. The PDF is password-protected, so follow UIDAI’s instructions for its password.
- You cannot receive the download OTP. UIDAI’s described download process sends an OTP to the registered mobile number. Confirm you can access that number; the FAQ does not establish an alternate OTP route for this process.
