Let the page load as fully as your connection allows, then save what is displayed with Save Page WE. The extension captures the page as it currently appears; its delay and resource-loading controls can help with late-loading content, but cannot retrieve material that never reached your browser. Check any missing-resource warnings and test the saved HTML offline before relying on it.
Save the page after it has loaded

Open the webpage while connected to the internet. Wait for the text, images, and any results you need to appear. Save Page WE captures the page as currently displayed, not content that the site has yet to deliver. Save Page WE’s Firefox listing

If the page is expected to display results after its initial load, open Save Page WE’s Options and consider enabling the delay before saving. The developer describes this setting as useful for pages with delayed search results. It postpones capture; it does not make the connection faster. Save Page WE’s Firefox listing

Choose what to include. Basic captures core displayed content. Standard adds all HTML images and audio/video to the Basic items. Custom starts with Basic and lets you select additional categories. If the connection is slow, include the resources you actually need rather than assuming a broader capture will be faster; more resources can require more loading and processing.

Save using the Save Page WE toolbar button, its context-menu save action, or the documented Alt+A shortcut. The default output extension is .html. Save Page WE’s Firefox listing

If the extension reports resources it could not save, inspect its warning or resource list. You can enable the option to remove URLs for unsaved resources so the local page does not try to fetch those items from the internet later.

When practical, disconnect from the internet and open the saved HTML file. Check the specific text, images, or other items you need; the existence of a file alone does not confirm that every resource was captured.

Choose capture settings for the page
Basic, Standard, or Custom
Basic includes HTML elements, currently displayed HTML images, canvas graphics, CSS stylesheets, currently displayed CSS images, and certain CSS fonts. Standard adds all HTML images, HTML audio/video, HTML object/embed files, and WOFF fonts. Custom lets you add categories such as all HTML images, audio/video, CSS images and fonts, and scripts in same-origin frames. Scripts in cross-origin frames are not saved. If content appears only after scrolling, Save Page WE offers two lazy-content methods, Scroll Page and Shrink Page, as well as an option to load lazy images in existing content. These options may prompt more content to load or be processed, but the documentation does not quantify their effect on a slow connection. Use them when the page visibly withholds content until scrolling, then verify the result.
Loading limits and unsaved-resource checks
Options include maximum loading times for listed-URL and automated pages, maximum size for large or repeatedly referenced resources, and maximum time for individual resources. Save Page WE also offers warnings or lists for resources it cannot save. Its documentation does not publish timing thresholds or promise complete capture on slow networks, so treat these controls as boundaries and diagnostics—not guarantees. Save Page WE’s Firefox listing

What the saved HTML can and cannot preserve
Save Page WE puts the saved page and referenced resources into one HTML file. Its documentation describes external CSS being made internal, frame contents and external scripts being stored as data URIs, iframe contents using srcdoc, and binary resources such as images, fonts, audio, and video being embedded as Base64 data URIs. Some cross-origin frames may not be saved, and scripts in cross-origin frames are not saved. Save Page WE’s Firefox listing
A slow connection can leave an image, video, or other resource unloaded before capture begins. Nor does a saved HTML file guarantee that live services, remote data, or interactive features will function offline. Test the exact content and behavior you need before treating the file as an archive.

Mozilla says locally saved pages can be accessed offline. Whether a particular page works as expected still depends on what was saved and whether its content relies on online services. Mozilla Support: How to save a web page

Troubleshooting slow or incomplete saves

Delayed results are missing: wait for the results to appear, or try Save Page WE’s delay-before-saving option. The delay starts capture later; it does not fetch results the site has not loaded.

Images or other resources are absent: check the extension’s unsaved-resource warning or list. Confirm that the content loaded in the original page, and adjust the item selection if you need additional resource categories.

The saved page still requests missing URLs: consider enabling the option to remove URLs for unsaved resources, then reopen the local file and check it offline.

A cross-origin frame or its scripts are missing: this is a documented limitation; the extension says some cross-origin frames cannot be saved and scripts in cross-origin frames are not saved.

The old save method fails in Chrome 84 or later: the developer’s browser-store descriptions identify a new save method as a troubleshooting option.
