Save the webpage as a single HTML file
- Open the page in Chrome or Firefox and wait for the content you want to keep to load.
- Select the Save Page WE toolbar button or use its context-menu option. The Firefox add-on listing documents Alt+A as a shortcut and says you can change it in the extension options; check the extension’s current settings if the shortcut does not work in your browser.
- Choose what to include. Basic saves essential items; Standard includes additional listed resource categories; Custom lets you select categories. The default file extension is
.html. Confirm the browser’s download location. - Open the downloaded file locally and check the parts that matter—especially images, embedded content, and page layout—before sharing.
Save Page WE is listed for Chrome and Firefox. Its listings describe saving the page as currently displayed, with referenced resources, into one HTML file. A saved page is not necessarily a perfect copy: dynamic or lazy-loaded content and inaccessible resources may be missing. The listing specifically notes that some cross-origin frames cannot be saved and scripts inside cross-origin frames are not saved. Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons list different versions and update dates, so treat their version metadata as listing information rather than evidence that the steps were recently tested.

Send the original webpage link
- Copy the page’s URL from the browser address bar.
- Open the individual or group chat in WhatsApp and paste the URL into the message field.
- Send the message. A link-only message can display a preview, but it remains a link to the live page rather than an offline copy. See WhatsApp’s link-sharing instructions.
Attach the saved HTML file
- Open the intended chat and choose the attachment option, then the document option.
- Browse to the download location, select the saved
.htmlfile if it appears in the picker, and send it. - If the file is not available to select, move or transfer it to a location accessible from the device or client you are using, then try again. WhatsApp’s document guidance lists a 2 GB maximum, but does not explicitly name HTML files as a supported extension; do not assume every WhatsApp client or recipient device will preview or open one uniformly. For iPhone, WhatsApp also documents sharing links and supported content such as PDFs through the iOS share extension. That guidance does not guarantee that a saved HTML file can be opened inline; using the in-chat Document picker is the clearer way to try to send the file itself. Check the capture and transfer it if needed
Save Page WE runs in the browser, while WhatsApp may be on a different device. If you save the page on a computer but use WhatsApp on a phone, transfer the downloaded file to the phone first, or use a WhatsApp client that can access the file on the computer. WhatsApp offers mobile, desktop, tablet, and browser access; the precise available sharing flow depends on the client you use.

- Confirm the saved file ends in
.htmland opens locally. - Inspect important images and content rather than assuming the capture includes everything visible on the live site.
- Make sure the recipient knows they are receiving a saved file, not a link to a live page.
- If WhatsApp does not list the file, check its download location and whether that client’s document picker can access it.

Can I send a Save Page WE file through WhatsApp?
