If you cannot save the preview as a PDF, use Safari’s documented webpage-to-PDF workflow instead.
Save a webpage from Chrome’s print preview
- Open the webpage in Chrome and wait for it to finish loading.
- Tap Chrome’s Share icon.
- Tap View more, then Print. Google describes this iPhone and iPad route as using AirPrint: Print from Chrome – iPhone and iPad.
- Inspect the print preview for a share or save control. If one is available, select it and follow the iOS prompts to save the document to Files.
The final PDF-saving step is not specified in Google’s current iPhone Chrome printing instructions, so the controls may differ by app and iOS version. If the preview offers no way to save a file, use the Safari method below rather than assuming that a printer destination will create a PDF.
Use Safari if Chrome does not offer a PDF save option
Apple documents this webpage-to-PDF procedure in Safari:
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Tap Share, then Markup.
- Tap Done, choose Save File To, name the PDF, and tap Save.

Do not confuse printing, downloads, and Reading List
- Printing: Chrome’s iPhone instructions take you to the AirPrint flow. They do not document a universal iPhone “Save as PDF” destination.
- Downloading a file: Chrome’s download instructions explain saving a downloaded file to Files; they are not a complete guide to exporting the whole webpage as a PDF. Google also describes a Share-and-Save route after choosing Print in that download context: Download a file – iPhone & iPad.
- Reading List: Chrome’s Reading List is for returning to pages or reading them offline, not for creating a standalone PDF: Read pages later and offline – iPhone and iPad.
- Other platforms: Android Chrome explicitly provides Save as PDF in its print preview, and desktop Chrome has a separate Save as PDF print-dialog option. Those labels and steps should not be assumed to exist in iPhone Chrome: Print from Chrome – Android and Print from Chrome – Computer.

Does Chrome on iPhone have a guaranteed “Save as PDF” button?
Google’s current iPhone Chrome printing instructions document the AirPrint route, not a guaranteed PDF-save control. Availability may vary by app and iOS version.
