Choose the browser’s PDF destination, adjust the print settings, check the preview, and save. For a wide dashboard, try landscape and adjust scale before sharing. This creates a print-rendered PDF, which may not look exactly like the live application.
Save a web application page as a PDF on a computer
- Open the exact page you want to present. Wait for the necessary content to load, and expand tabs, sections, menus, or other interactive content you need included.
- Open the print dialog: press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Chrome documents this workflow in its desktop print instructions.
- In the destination or printer selector, choose the PDF option. In Chrome’s print preview, Google’s instruction is: “Click Save as PDF.”
- Set the page orientation, paper size, scale, and margins. Review the preview, then save the PDF to a location you can find.
- Open the saved file and check it before sending it to the client.
Save a page as PDF on Android
- Open the page in Chrome and load the content you need.
- Tap More > Share > Print.
- Select Save as PDF, choose a location, and continue. See Google’s Android Chrome print instructions for the documented path.
- Open the saved PDF and check that the content is readable and complete.
Choose settings that work for a client presentation
Orientation and paper size
For a dashboard, chart, or table that is wider than it is tall, try landscape first. Use portrait for content that reads naturally as a tall document. A4 can be a practical starting point when the recipient may print the PDF: a 2018 Bureau of Indian Standards publication specifies A4 as 21.0 cm × 29.7 cm. That is a dimension in that publication, not a universal rule for Indian client presentations. You can consult the BIS publication and confirm the client’s preferred format if print size matters.
Scale, fit, and margins
Use the preview to see whether columns or content are clipped. Reducing scale can fit more on a page, but excessive reduction makes text difficult to read. Microsoft Edge documents options such as Fit to printable area, Actual size, and custom scaling, and recommends previewing the result. Firefox also documents paper size, scale, pages per sheet, margins, and page range. The available controls and labels vary by browser and operating system. Backgrounds, headers, and footers
Decide whether the PDF needs background colors or images, a page title or URL, the date, and page numbers. These details can help identify a capture, but may add clutter to a presentation handout. Toggle the available settings and inspect the preview rather than assuming the saved file will match the screen.

Check the PDF before sharing it
A browser printout is a print rendering, not necessarily a pixel-for-pixel copy of the application. Firefox notes that websites may be designed to look different on paper. Check the actual saved file for:
- Columns or chart labels cut off at page edges.
- Text made too small by scaling or an unsuitable orientation.
- Blank or missing areas, including content that was not expanded or loaded before printing.
- Unwanted headers, footers, or missing backgrounds.
- Scroll areas or other application components that do not appear as expected.
If a section is missing, check the application’s own print or export controls and confirm that the content is visible before printing. The documented browser options do not guarantee a fix for every app’s login, loading, or permission-dependent content. Firefox’s guidance and Adobe’s conversion settings documentation describe how page formatting and conversion settings can affect output.

Do not confuse “Save as PDF” with “Save page as”
Saving print preview as PDF produces a PDF based on the page’s print rendering. Chrome’s separate Save page as workflow downloads a webpage as a file; it is not the same instruction as printing to PDF. Google documents the latter separately in its Chrome file-download help.
When to use a dedicated web-to-PDF converter
For one page, start with the browser print dialog. Consider a dedicated converter when you need to capture multiple linked levels or need more control over document structure and layout. Adobe Acrobat’s desktop web-page conversion documentation covers multiple levels, layout settings, PDF tags, bookmarks, and headers and footers. Those controls can help with a more involved conversion, but a paid converter is not established as necessary for a straightforward single-page PDF. Troubleshooting common PDF problems
The PDF is blank or missing a section
Return to the application page, wait for the needed content, and expand the relevant controls before opening print preview. Inspect the preview. If the content remains absent, look for an application-specific print or export function; browser printing may not reproduce all interactive content.

A table or dashboard is cut off
Try landscape, then adjust scale and margins while watching the preview. If fitting the content makes the type too small, use a different page range or the application’s export option rather than forcing the whole dashboard onto one page.
The PDF looks different from the screen
This can happen because printing uses a print rendering. Check background settings and orientation, then inspect the saved PDF. If the page’s print styling remains unsuitable, consider a converter with layout controls or an app-provided export.

The file is not a PDF
Confirm that the destination is the browser’s PDF option, such as Chrome’s Save as PDF, rather than a physical printer or Chrome’s separate webpage download workflow.
