Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Short answer: XSplit Broadcaster documents how to send simultaneous outputs to multiple broadcast destinations, but its documentation does not confirm that one instance can run two different prerecorded videos on two independent YouTube live events at the same time. You can add prerecorded video to XSplit scenes and configure multiple outputs; do not assume those features provide separate video-to-event assignments.
First, identify what “two streams” means
There are three different setups that can sound like “two YouTube streams.” They are not interchangeable:
- One program sent to multiple destinations: XSplit calls this multistreaming. Its guide describes configuring outputs for destinations such as Facebook Live and YouTube Live, then starting each output. It requires a Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license. XSplit Support: “Multistreaming to Different Platforms”.
- One YouTube event in horizontal and vertical formats: XSplit’s dual-format instructions use separate horizontal and vertical stream keys when the feature is available to the channel. That is two formats for one event, not evidence of two independent programs. XSplit Support: YouTube dual-format streaming.
- Two independent YouTube events with different prerecorded videos: This is the setup in the title. The reviewed XSplit instructions do not establish that a single running Broadcaster instance can assign separate media sources to two separate YouTube events at once.
Set up prerecorded video in an XSplit scene
A scene is a layout of sources. XSplit documents video files and Video Playlist as source options. Use a Video File source for one recording; use Video Playlist when you want several files to play continuously as part of the same scene. This sets up the media within a scene, but does not by itself configure separate media for separate YouTube events. See XSplit Support’s Video File and Video Playlist instructions.
- Prepare the scene. In XSplit Broadcaster, select or create the scene for the prerecorded program.
- Add the media source. Add a Video File source for a single recording, or a Video Playlist source for multiple files intended to play continuously in that scene.
- Check playback before broadcasting. Confirm the intended media is visible and playing in the scene. If you need two different programs, keep in mind that XSplit’s documented multistream setup does not explain how to bind a different scene or source to each YouTube output.
Configure a YouTube output
XSplit’s output setup varies by platform and can involve account authorization or connection details such as a stream key and server. Output properties may also include codec, bitrate, frame rate, resolution, and network adapter. Follow the current prompts in Broadcaster and YouTube Studio for the specific channel and event rather than reusing credentials without checking which event they belong to. XSplit describes output properties in its broadcast output properties guide.

- In XSplit, open the output setup and choose the YouTube output.
- Authorize the relevant account or enter the connection details requested for the YouTube event, including the stream key if using key-based setup.
- Review the output properties. Match resolution and frame rate to the intended video and use a bitrate your connection can sustain.
- In YouTube Studio, verify the event is configured as intended and that its stream status is ready before starting the broadcast.
What XSplit’s documented multistream workflow does
XSplit Support states that Broadcaster “allows you to stream to multiple broadcast outputs simultaneously.” Its documented workflow is to set up each output and then start each output individually. The guide identifies a Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license as required for this feature. The support page carries an update date of 10/11/2025. Read the XSplit multistreaming guide.
- Open Broadcast > Set up a new output.
- Configure the first destination using its authorization or stream connection details.
- Repeat Broadcast > Set up a new output for each additional destination.
- When the outputs are ready, start each one from the Broadcast menu.
This workflow documents multiple destinations. It does not document two distinct YouTube live events receiving different prerecorded sources from the same instance. The output setup and scene-source documentation do not show a per-output scene or media assignment for that case.

When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Check the connection before starting multiple outputs
Each active output adds demand to the available upload connection. XSplit says higher bitrate can improve image quality but requires more upload bandwidth, and recommends choosing bitrate in light of resolution, frame rate, and available upload speed. Its bandwidth check can help assess whether the selected connection can support the bitrate. The documentation does not provide a universal upload-speed threshold for this particular setup, so avoid treating any single speed as a guarantee. See XSplit’s broadcast settings guidance.
- Use a bitrate appropriate for the selected resolution and frame rate, not simply the highest value available.
- Allow enough upload capacity for all active outputs and normal network overhead.
- If an output drops or the stream becomes unstable, lower the bitrate or reduce resolution or frame rate, then test again.
For horizontal and vertical versions of one YouTube event
If your aim is to reach viewers with horizontal and vertical formats for the same event, use XSplit’s dual-format workflow only if YouTube Studio shows that the channel has access to the feature. XSplit’s guide says to obtain the stream URL and separate horizontal and vertical keys, select Stream Key mode in the XSplit YouTube output, enter the details, and start the stream. This is a format workflow for one event—not a documented method for broadcasting two different prerecorded programs to two independent events. See XSplit’s dual-format setup guide.

What to do if you need two separate prerecorded programs
Because XSplit’s reviewed official documentation does not confirm separate source assignment for two independent YouTube events in one Broadcaster instance, do not rely on the multiple-output steps as proof that this exact arrangement will work. Check with XSplit Support for confirmation before building a production workflow around it. If you need to proceed without that confirmation, treat separate event and media handling as a requirement to verify in your chosen setup; test both events and their respective recordings before scheduling a public broadcast.
Troubleshooting
- The second output will not start: Confirm that the account has the Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license required for XSplit’s documented multistream feature. Then check the destination’s authorization or connection details.
- YouTube reports an invalid or wrong stream key: Recheck the key against the intended YouTube event in Studio and confirm that XSplit is configured for the intended output. Avoid assuming that a key for one event is the correct key for another.
- The stream drops or becomes unstable after adding an output: The connection may not support the combined bitrate demand. Lower the bitrate or reduce resolution or frame rate, and use XSplit’s bandwidth check to reassess the connection.
- The wrong video appears on the second event: XSplit’s reviewed multistream documentation does not explain separate media assignment by output. Stop and verify the expected source-to-event behavior with XSplit Support instead of assuming that adding another output selects a different scene.
- You cannot find dual-format options: Check whether the feature is available to the channel in YouTube Studio. XSplit’s guide makes channel feature access a prerequisite.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube stream running without leaving a computer on, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos on YouTube; it does not broadcast a camera feed. It is not a way to run two different events from one XSplit instance.
