You can run several continuous YouTube livestreams from one PC by creating a separate stream in YouTube Studio for each broadcast and assigning each feed its own stream settings and key in your encoder. YouTube currently allows up to 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key, at the same time. Your real limit may be lower: the PC must encode every feed, and your upload connection must carry their combined bitrates with headroom.
Check eligibility and YouTube’s simultaneous-stream limits
Before configuring the PC, confirm that the channel can livestream. YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified, must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
YouTube’s current limit is 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply concurrently. Once either limit is reached, another stream cannot be started. Check the help page again before a production launch because platform limits can change.
Set up each broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Create or select a stream: Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create a live stream for each distinct feed, or select an existing one.
- Get that stream’s connection details: In the stream settings, use the YouTube server URL and the appropriate stream key. Treat each key as a password; do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the feed.
- Configure the encoder: Use streaming software or a standalone hardware encoder. Enter the relevant YouTube server URL and key for each output, then set its resolution, frame rate and bitrate to suit the video and available bandwidth. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the connection workflow.
- Start and verify outputs individually: Confirm each intended feed appears in YouTube’s Live Control Room preview and is accessible as expected before relying on it.
There is no universal PC specification or per-stream bitrate that guarantees a certain number of simultaneous feeds. The load varies with resolution, frame rate, scene complexity, encoder settings, number of outputs and the computer’s ability to maintain performance and safe temperatures.

Estimate whether your PC and upload connection can handle the feeds
Calculate outgoing bandwidth
Add the outgoing bitrate of every feed the PC sends. YouTube says the total bitrate must not exceed available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% room. For example, if your chosen outputs total 20 Mbps, a connection needs more than that in reliable upload capacity to preserve the recommended headroom; other devices and traffic need room too. Use upload speed—not the usually higher download figure—and account for normal variation in your connection.

Watch the encoder workload
More simultaneous feeds increase the importance of monitoring system load. YouTube’s encoder guide notes that NVIDIA GPUs with NVENC have a hardware-based encoder that can reduce reliance on the CPU. That is a vendor capability statement relayed by YouTube, not a promise that a particular GPU can handle a specific number of 24/7 streams. Capacity still depends on the GPU model, settings, workload, other system resources and thermals.
Choose local encoding or a cloud relay
Local encoding and cloud relay address different constraints. YouTube describes local encoding as an option for people who want control and have a powerful computer; cloud services can reduce the load on the computer and may suit distribution to more than two channels. These are general selection criteria, not performance or uptime guarantees for a particular setup.

Test and monitor a 24/7 setup
A successful start does not establish continuous reliability. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend checking the Live Control Room preview, confirming the event is accessible, checking that archive files grow, and monitoring audio and video quality.
- Run a test before depending on the streams, and inspect each output rather than assuming one working feed proves the others work.
- Keep an eye on encoder load, upload stability, picture and sound, and the status shown in YouTube Studio.
- Plan how you will respond to encoder, network, power or platform interruptions. YouTube’s guidance does not promise unattended 24/7 uptime or prescribe a tested redundancy design.
Troubleshoot common multi-stream problems
YouTube will not start another stream
Check both simultaneous-stream limits: 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. Stop an active stream or use the appropriate key for the feed, then confirm the current limit in YouTube Help.

The stream drops, buffers or looks unstable
Compare the sum of outgoing bitrates with dependable upload capacity, keeping YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Check whether other household or office traffic is consuming upload bandwidth, then lower output bitrates or reduce the number of concurrent feeds if necessary.
The PC struggles under load
Check encoder and system load while all intended outputs are active. Reduce the resolution, frame rate, bitrate or number of simultaneous outputs, or consider suitable hardware encoding; do not assume an NVENC-equipped GPU guarantees capacity for a given workload.

A feed does not appear as expected
Verify that its encoder output uses the intended YouTube server URL and stream key, and check the matching stream’s preview in Live Control Room. Keep keys private, and replace one if it may have been exposed.
