To loop a prerecorded video on YouTube Live over Airtel broadband, run it through OBS Studio on a computer: add the video as a looping Media Source, connect OBS to a stream created in YouTube Studio, and start the broadcast after checking YouTube’s preview and stream health. The key network limit is your measured upload speed—not the download speed or the name of your Airtel plan. Before you start: check channel access and upload capacity
Make sure the channel is allowed to stream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. You must be at least 16 to live stream. If this is the channel’s first live broadcast, enable live streaming ahead of time; initial enablement can take time, so do not wait until the scheduled start.

Measure upload speed on the computer you will stream from
Run an upload-speed test on the actual computer and connection you plan to use. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit the available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. That spare capacity matters if other devices are using the connection, too. Download speed does not tell you how much bandwidth is available to send the stream.

YouTube does not publish an Airtel-specific upload-speed requirement for this setup, and an Airtel plan name cannot establish the speed available at your address. Choose resolution and bitrate from your measured result, allowing for other household traffic, then verify with a private or unlisted test stream. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
Set up a single repeating video in OBS
- Create a scene: Install and open OBS Studio, then create or select a scene for the broadcast.
- Add the video: In the Sources panel, select + → Media Source. Name the source if prompted, choose the local video file, and enable Loop in its properties. OBS documents Media Source looping for a single file in its Media Sources guide.
- Check the picture and sound: Fit the source to the canvas, inspect the preview, and confirm the video’s audio is present and at a suitable level. If the file has no audio or you do not want its audio to repeat, review the source’s audio settings before broadcasting.
- Set a suitable output: Choose a resolution and bitrate that fit the upload capacity you measured. Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for your chosen resolution and frame rate; do not select the highest quality option by default. Leave the recommended 20% upload headroom.
For multiple videos, use a playlist source
For a sequence of files, OBS documents a VLC Video source with a Loop Playlist option that restarts the playlist when it ends. Add the files in the order you want, enable playlist looping, and check the complete sequence and its audio in the preview before sending it to YouTube. Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go live. In Live Control Room, create or schedule an encoder stream using the Stream tab.
- Copy the stream server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Studio into OBS’s streaming settings. Use YouTube’s RTMPS server option if available in your encoder; RTMPS encrypts the connection to YouTube’s ingestion server.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it in a screen recording, stream preview, or public post. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting.
- Start streaming in OBS. Wait for the YouTube preview and check that the video is moving, the loop behaves as intended, audio is correct, and YouTube reports a healthy stream.
- When the preview and stream health are satisfactory, select Go live in Live Control Room if that workflow requires it.

Account for Airtel broadband conditions
There is no universal Airtel plan or upload-speed figure that guarantees a particular YouTube Live resolution. Actual performance depends on your location, subscribed plan, connection and router setup, current network conditions, and competing household traffic. Test the same setup you will use for the broadcast rather than relying on a plan’s advertised download speed.

Airtel’s Xstream Fiber terms and conditions state a fair-usage threshold of 3333 GB per billing cycle, after which speed may be reduced to up to 2 Mbps. The terms page does not state a publication year, says Airtel may amend the policy, and does not establish that the same terms apply to every plan or connection. Check the terms that apply to your specific plan and location; do not assume that an “unlimited” description means there are no usage or speed conditions.
A wired Ethernet connection from the streaming computer to the router is an option if practical, but it is not a substitute for measuring upload capacity and testing. YouTube’s guidance is to maintain a reliable network and sufficient upload headroom; a cable does not guarantee uptime.

Keep the stream healthy and end it cleanly
- Keep OBS, the computer, and the broadband connection powered and stable for the full broadcast. Monitor YouTube’s stream health and audio/video quality while it runs.
- If stream health degrades, check the actual upload rate and competing network use, then reduce the output bitrate or resolution until the stream fits the available capacity.
- When finished, end the event in YouTube Live Control Room and stop sending the stream from OBS.
- YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish that a broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours will be archived as one recording; keep a local copy if you need a dependable recording of a longer session.
Common problems and fixes
