To run a continuous bhajan playlist as a YouTube Live stream, send a looping playlist from a compatible encoder to a live stream created in YouTube Studio. YouTube does not provide a dedicated 24/7 playlist-loop control for this setup: your playback system must repeat the content, and you must plan for monitoring, connection recovery, and music rights.
Before you start: check channel access and music rights
Enable live streaming
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Enable live streaming in YouTube Studio before the planned broadcast; initial activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
Clear rights for every recording and visual
Confirm that you have permission to livestream each recording and every visual in the feed, including any background image or video. A bhajan, devotional composition, or purchased recording is not automatically cleared for livestreaming: rights can depend on the composition, arrangement, recording, and visuals. Attribution alone does not establish permission.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material. A match can cause the stream to be replaced with a placeholder and, if the material remains, interrupted or terminated. If a rights holder has licensed the material for your stream, ask them to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist; a license by itself may not prevent an interruption. Choose how to play and loop the playlist
You need a playback-and-encoding setup that sends the playlist output to YouTube and repeats it. YouTube’s official workflow covers receiving an encoder feed, not a special YouTube control that loops a playlist for a 24/7 broadcast. The precise repeat setting depends on the playback or encoder software you choose, so verify that it returns to the beginning of the playlist and continues sending audio and video after the final item.
You can use encoder software on a computer you already have, or a standalone hardware encoder. YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events; a hardware encoder is not a requirement for a pre-made playlist. A webcam, microphone, camera, or audio interface is not inherently needed to send a pre-recorded playlist. Choose a visual that you have permission to use and make sure the encoder can keep that visual and the audio running together.
Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open the Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule one. Follow the current prompts for its title, visibility, and other details.
- Copy the connection details: Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Treat the stream key like a password: someone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Configure your encoder: Paste the server URL and key into the encoder’s YouTube or custom-ingest fields. Set the playlist playback to repeat, then configure the output resolution and bitrate to match your source and available upload capacity.
- Start sending the feed: Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before making the stream public or relying on it unattended. YouTube’s steps are documented in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Set quality for a stable stream
There is no single bitrate that suits every playlist: the appropriate encoder settings depend on the resolution, frame rate, and encoding format you select. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance for the output you intend to send. Avoid choosing a higher resolution or bitrate than your connection can sustain.

Test with the same kind of audio and static or moving visuals you plan to broadcast. YouTube recommends testing, monitoring stream health, and leaving upload-bandwidth headroom. Available upload speed can fall when other devices share the network, so do not treat a speed reading taken under different network conditions as a guarantee. Plan for monitoring, interruptions, and the archive
A looping playlist does not by itself guarantee that the live stream stays available. Arrange for someone or a monitoring plan to notice when audio, visuals, rights checks, or the network interrupt the feed, and decide how the encoder will be restarted or reconnected. The cited YouTube guidance recommends monitoring streams but does not promise uninterrupted service or automatic recovery.

To end a broadcast sent by encoder, stop sending content from the encoder as described in YouTube’s encoder instructions. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish indefinite runtime or specify the archive treatment of a stream that runs longer than 12 hours, so check the current Live Control Room behavior before planning a longer session.
