You can run Hindi devotional music on YouTube from a Mac mini by sending a playlist through an encoder such as OBS Studio. Create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, copy its server URL and stream key into OBS, then start the encoder and monitor the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room. The Mac mini must remain on and connected while you use this computer-based method. Before you begin, confirm that you have the rights to livestream every recording: YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content and may interrupt them.
What “24/7” means on YouTube
A Mac mini and encoder can keep sending a continuous broadcast while the computer, software, power and internet connection remain available. That is not the same as one YouTube live event being archived indefinitely. YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” Plan around that limit if you need an archive; the available guidance does not establish a safe way to make one event run forever or a particular automated restart method.
Nor does the setup guarantee unattended uptime. A power cut, internet outage, encoder problem or YouTube interruption can stop the feed. Treat continuous operation as an operational goal that needs monitoring, not a promise about a particular Mac mini model.
What you need before setup
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says initial activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start.
- A Mac mini and a compatible encoder. YouTube lists OBS among its encoder options. OBS offers macOS builds for Intel and Apple silicon, and its download page lists macOS 13.0 or newer; check the current download page against your Mac before installing.
- Audio or video files you are entitled to livestream, organized into a playlist or scene in your encoder.
- A stable power and network connection. The available setup information does not establish a particular upload-speed target, bitrate, resolution or Mac mini configuration for this use, so do not treat an unsupported number as a guarantee.
Set up the YouTube stream with OBS
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, complete the channel’s live-stream activation if you have not done so. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Install OBS. Download the macOS build appropriate for your Mac mini’s processor. Check the current OBS system requirements and install a version compatible with your macOS release.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to set up a stream, or use the Manage tab to schedule one. Scheduling gives you a shareable upcoming event that viewers can find and set reminders for.
- Copy the connection details. In YouTube Live Control Room, copy the stream server URL and stream key into the corresponding streaming settings in OBS. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a broadcast to your event.
- Prepare the devotional music. Add your authorized recordings to OBS as media sources or use a playlist workflow. Check that audio is present and that the intended files play in the right order before going live.
- Start sending the stream. Start streaming in OBS. Wait for the preview or incoming signal in Live Control Room; if YouTube’s workflow asks for a separate confirmation, select Go live there.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep Live Control Room and OBS available to check stream status and audio. For a long run, check periodically rather than assuming that a successful start means the stream will continue unattended.
YouTube’s encoder workflow does not establish a recommended bitrate, keyframe interval, resolution or upload speed for this particular setup. Avoid guessing at values as though they were validated for your Mac mini or connection; use the encoder settings guidance shown in YouTube Studio for your selected stream configuration.

Clear music rights before broadcasting
Devotional or religious subject matter does not make a recording copyright-free. Rights in the musical composition and rights in a particular recording can belong to different parties, so permission for one does not necessarily clear the other.
- Use recordings your channel owns or for which you have permission to livestream on YouTube.
- Keep records of licenses and permissions so you can verify what they cover.
- If using licensed third-party music, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist before going live. YouTube notes that a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects copyrighted material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the material remains, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. If you choose to archive a live stream, Content ID claims on that archive are made after the stream ends.

Plan for continuity without assuming a guarantee
What the Mac mini method depends on
With OBS, the Mac mini is doing the encoding and sending. The computer, OBS and network connection therefore need to remain available for the broadcast to continue. The available information does not verify that a specific Mac mini, configuration or OBS scene will run unattended indefinitely, and it does not establish a particular reconnect or restart strategy.
Optional hardware, with limits
A UPS may help keep the Mac mini and network equipment powered through a brief power interruption. It does not solve an internet outage, software crash, YouTube session limit or copyright issue. External storage is relevant if you want a local media library or recordings; it is not a requirement for sending a stream if your files are already available to the computer.

Use a supervised trial run
Before relying on a devotional broadcast, run a supervised test with the intended playlist and check both OBS and Live Control Room. Confirm the stream appears, the audio is audible, and the correct event is active. A test can expose setup problems, but it cannot prove indefinite uptime.
