To run an Om chanting stream continuously, prepare a rights-cleared recording and visual loop, enable YouTube Live, then send the media to YouTube through an encoder or a cloud playlist service. A local setup requires a computer, stable power and internet, and ongoing monitoring; a cloud setup can keep encoding without your computer running. Plan for YouTube’s 12-hour archive limit and remember that a continuous loop is not automatically eligible for monetization.
1. Check that your channel can go live
Live streaming must be enabled on an eligible, verified YouTube channel, with no current live-streaming restrictions. YouTube says a channel’s first live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your intended launch. YouTube’s general live-stream page states a minimum age of 16. 2. Prepare the chant and visual loop
Decide whether the broadcast will use a finished recording, a live performance, or a combination. A prerecorded loop does not need a microphone; a microphone is useful if you plan to chant live or record original vocals.
Clear rights for every asset
Before broadcasting, confirm that you own or have permission to use the actual recording and performance, the composition or arrangement where relevant, and every visual element. Check that the permission covers continuous livestreaming, the territories where the stream will be available, and monetization if you intend to earn from it. A devotional purpose or a “royalty-free” label alone does not establish that all these uses are covered. The applicable license depends on the particular works and their terms.

3. Choose how to keep the stream running
YouTube receives the audio and video from an encoder. You can run that encoder on a dedicated computer or use a hosted service that streams uploaded media. YouTube’s encoder directory includes OBS, Gyre, and Upstream; check its current listing and each provider’s current terms before choosing.

4. Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the stream and set its title, visibility, and other details for the intended broadcast.
- Get the server URL and stream key. Use the values shown for your YouTube stream in the encoder’s streaming settings. Interface labels can change; follow the current values in YouTube Studio rather than relying on a copied key or URL.
- Configure the encoder or hosted service. Select the prepared video and audio source or playlist, then enter YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the appropriate fields.
- Protect the key. Treat the stream key as a credential. Do not put it in a public post, video, screenshot, or shared document. If you believe it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Start a private test first. Check the Live Control Room preview before making the stream public.
For a live performance, connect and test the microphone and any audio hardware before starting. For a prerecorded loop, verify that the audio is present in the file and that the selected source repeats as intended.
5. Test playback and plan operations
- Confirm that picture and sound appear in the Live Control Room preview and that the audio is audible without clipping, distortion, or unexpected silence.
- Open the watch page from a separate browser or device to check the viewer-facing stream and its visibility. Test mobile playback as well.
- Check that the playlist returns to its beginning or advances to the intended next item. Watch for gaps, black frames, or abrupt audio changes at loop boundaries.
- If you use a local computer, prevent sleep or shutdown during the broadcast, keep the source files accessible, and make sure the encoder stays open. Check power and upload connectivity.
- If you use a cloud service, test its connection and recovery process before relying on it for a long broadcast. YouTube recommends continuous quality monitoring; keep a practical way to check for dropped video or silent audio.
- Decide how you will recover from a dropped connection and whether you need a local recording. Verify that recording is actually being written before depending on it.
6. Understand YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube automatically archives streams that end before 12 hours. If a broadcast continues longer than 12 hours, do not rely on YouTube to provide a complete automatic replay of the uninterrupted stream. If an archive matters, plan a recording strategy and decide how you will divide or restart the broadcast; verify the resulting recordings rather than assuming the full stream was saved.

7. Set realistic monetization expectations
Monetization requires YouTube Partner Program eligibility and compliance with YouTube’s policies. Copyright permission and monetization review are separate questions: having permission to use a chant or visual does not by itself make repetitive content monetizable.
YouTube says highly repetitive, interchangeable content with little added value may not be monetizable, and reused content is assessed separately from copyright. Its policy warns that “When a channel’s content consists of highly repetitive content, it can disappoint viewers who come to YouTube for appealing and interesting videos.” Consider adding meaningful original performance, commentary, context, teaching, or visual variation if monetization is a goal. 8. Troubleshoot common problems
