If your supported Google Pixel is running an Android beta, you can either wait for a stable public update and opt out of future beta updates during Google’s limited no-wipe window, or flash a public build now and reset the phone. Flashing erases user data, so back up first. These instructions are for supported Pixel devices; other Android manufacturers use different procedures.
Choose the right way to leave the beta
The choice is mainly about timing and data loss. Google’s beta guidance describes a limited opportunity to leave without wiping after a stable public release installs. A direct flash back to a public build is the faster route if you cannot wait, but it requires a full reset.
| Route | Data impact | Timing | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Install the stable public update, then opt out | Google says you can opt out without a data wipe during the limited window. | Wait for the stable release; opt out before applying another beta update. | Use the update and opt-out options presented for your enrolled Pixel. |
| Flash a public build | Requires a full reset and removes user data. | Does not depend on waiting for the no-wipe opt-out window. | Use Android Flash Tool or manually flash the factory image that matches your exact device. |
Google’s Android 16 QPR2 guidance describes four stable public releases in that cycle: the platform release followed by three Quarterly Platform Releases. Release schedules and eligible devices change, so check the current Android Beta Program page and the update prompt on your phone rather than assuming a particular release is available.
Can you leave the Android beta without losing data?
For a supported Pixel, Google says a limited no-wipe opportunity becomes available after the stable public release is installed. Opt out of future beta updates during that window. If you apply another beta update, the no-wipe opportunity ends; Google does not promise that it will remain available afterward. Check the current program page and on-device prompt before proceeding.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Opting out stops future beta updates; it is not the same as flashing a different build. A Pixel that has received a beta build can continue receiving beta OTA updates until it is unenrolled, which is why opting out matters even if the beta was installed manually.
How to return to stable Android by waiting for the public update
- Confirm that your phone is a supported Pixel enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program. Availability varies by release cycle and device.
- Wait for the stable public update and install it when it is offered. Review the update prompt before accepting, and make sure you are applying the stable release rather than a later beta.
- After the stable update installs, use the available option to opt out of future beta updates. Do this before installing another beta update, which ends the limited no-wipe window.
This route is appropriate if preserving your existing data matters more than leaving the beta immediately. If the stable update or opt-out option is not currently offered, verify your enrollment and device status on the program page; release availability changes over time.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
How to roll back immediately by flashing a public build
Google warns that going from a beta build back to a production (public) build requires a full device reset and removes all user data. Back up anything you need before flashing. Google documents two routes:
Android Flash Tool
Android Flash Tool is Google’s guided, browser-based route for supported Pixel devices. It requires an unlocked device and USB debugging enabled in Developer options; connect the Pixel to the computer over USB. Follow Google’s current prompts and select the build for the exact device. Do not begin unless you have accounted for the reset and backed up your data.

Manual factory-image flashing
Manual flashing gives more direct control over the process, but you must choose the factory image for the exact Pixel model and follow Google’s device-specific instructions. Do not substitute an image for a similar model or improvise flashing commands. Google’s Android 16 factory-image documentation warns that a beta-to-production flash resets the device.
Factory images and OTA images are not interchangeable instructions. Use the route that matches your goal and follow its current device-specific guidance: Android 16 factory images for Google Pixel and Android 16 OTA images for Google Pixel.

Check device support before following Pixel steps
This process is not a universal Android rollback method. Google’s Android 16 QPR2 supported-device list includes Pixel 6 and newer listed models, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold family devices; the exact list is specific to that release cycle. Confirm that your model is currently eligible before following the beta or flashing steps. If you have a Samsung, Motorola, or another non-Pixel phone, consult that manufacturer’s current instructions instead; these Google sources do not establish its rollback procedure.
