If weather has disappeared from your Lenovo Smart Clock, first check the Google account and Home linked to the clock, then verify that Home’s address and the Assistant’s weather unit are correct. Test weather by voice, confirm the clock is online, and restart it. These checks address the documented location and connectivity settings; they are not a guaranteed fix for a missing on-screen display.
Check the Google account, Home, and address
- Choose the right account and Home. In the Google Home app, confirm that you are using the Google account connected to the clock and select the Home where it is installed. The selected Home’s address applies to its devices. Google’s instructions for changing a Home address explain how the setting is used.
- Review the Home address. In Google Home, open Home settings for the selected Home and check Home address. Correct it if needed. Google uses that address as the default location for local weather, places, and time unless you specify another location.
Check the weather unit and test a voice request
Review the weather unit used by Google Assistant in Google Home. Google’s weather guidance says to check both the device address and preferred weather unit when weather information is missing or incorrect. Google’s weather and forecast instructions describe these settings.
Do not assume that the Home-wide temperature display setting controls a Lenovo clock: Google says its unified home temperature setting does not apply to third-party displays. The Assistant weather unit is a separate setting. See Google’s instructions for choosing a weather unit.
Then ask the clock, “Hey Google, what’s the weather?” Try a second request naming a city, such as “Hey Google, what’s the weather in Boston?” Google recommends being specific when a speaker or display does not provide the information requested. If the named-city query works but the general one does not, check the Home address again.

Check Wi-Fi and restart the clock
Confirm that the clock is connected to Wi-Fi and that the network has internet access. Lenovo says the Smart Clock requires an always-active Wi-Fi connection for its Assistant features; its FAQ also describes weather as a supported clock feature and part of the morning briefing. Lenovo’s Smart Clock FAQ covers those features.
To restart, unplug the clock’s power, reconnect it, and wait for it to start up. Lenovo includes an internet check and power restart in general troubleshooting for the related Smart Clock 2, for connection or Assistant-response problems. If voice weather works but the display is still missing
If the clock answers weather questions but the screen still does not show weather after you check the settings and restart, the official guidance cited here does not establish a device-specific widget repair or confirmed cause. Contact Lenovo or Google support with the exact model (Smart Clock, Smart Clock 2, or Smart Clock Essential), your region, whether voice weather works, and what the screen displays.
Avoid factory-resetting as your first weather fix. Lenovo mentions a reset as a later general step for broader connectivity or Assistant-response problems, not as a proven remedy for a missing weather display. A reset can require setting up the clock again.

What recent reports do—and do not—show
In a Google Home & Nest Help Community thread dated September 16, 2026, a user asked how to add the outdoor temperature back to a Lenovo clock. Replies described temperature returning after toggling device location and restarting, or after a Home update; another user described an Essential showing an incorrect postcode despite location corrections. These are unverified user reports, not confirmed diagnoses or fixes for all models. The community thread does not establish a universal cause or remedy.
