To reset an enemy camp in Enshrouded, clear it, leave the area far enough for the location to unload, stay away for roughly 30 minutes, and return to verify the enemies have returned. Keen Games said it reduced respawn timers to 30 minutes, making it possible to defeat a boss or destroy a Shroud root again. That is a general timer, not a promise that every camp respawns at exactly 30:00 or awards a fixed amount of XP.
The reliable camp-reset method
Use this sequence when you want to farm a camp repeatedly:
- Choose a camp you can reach quickly. Favor locations near fast travel and outside the protected area of your active base when possible.
- Clear every enemy. Collect the experience and drops before leaving so your first clear is recorded accurately.
- Move away and stop revisiting the site. The area needs to unload. Returning too soon can restart or delay the practical timer.
- Spend about 30 minutes elsewhere. Clear another camp, complete a quest, craft, organize gear, or travel rather than waiting beside the camp.
- Return and inspect the camp. Do not assume a reset happened just because 30 minutes passed. Confirm that enemies are present before beginning your next farming run.
- If it is still empty, leave again. Treat the timer as delayed or condition-dependent instead of repeatedly entering the area to force a spawn.
This unload-and-return loop is the safest way to apply the developer-confirmed timing while allowing for camp-specific behavior and multiplayer activity.
What the 30-minute timer actually means
Keen Games stated on 9 February 2024, in its discussion of quest progression, that it had reduced respawn timers to 30 minutes. The statement specifically noted that players could defeat a boss again or destroy a Shroud root again. It confirms that repeat activities are intended, but it does not publish an XP table for individual enemy camps or state that every camp uses an identical countdown.

Community descriptions of camp farming add an important practical condition: the location generally needs to remain unloaded for approximately that period. The countdown should therefore be treated as a window that starts or progresses while you are away, not as a stopwatch that can be observed while standing in the camp. Entering the area early may load it again and restart or postpone the condition needed for a reset.

Step-by-step setup for an efficient farming loop
1. Select a repeatable camp
Start with a camp that does not turn travel into most of the activity. A nearby fast-travel point reduces the time between clears, while a camp outside your active base’s protected area is less likely to remain loaded by normal building and player activity. You do not need the theoretically largest camp; you need one that you can clear consistently and reach without frequent deaths.
Before committing to a route, note the enemy level, the number of opponents you normally fight at once, terrain that blocks movement, and places where you can retreat. These factors determine clear speed and downtime, which matter more to sustained XP than a single large payout.
2. Record a clean first clear
Write down your character’s XP before entering, then clear the camp normally and record the XP afterward. Also note the elapsed time, deaths, consumables used, and the value of drops you care about. A first clear gives you a baseline for the route; later clears can be compared against it instead of relying on memory.
Collect the drops before leaving. If you leave loot behind on one run but collect it on another, your comparison will mix farming performance with pickup behavior.

3. Make the area unload
Travel far enough that the camp is no longer actively loaded, then stay away. The exact distance is not specified by the available evidence, so use behavior as your test: do not keep the camp visible, do not circle back to check individual enemies, and do not treat a brief trip away as proof that the area unloaded.

In a shared session, coordinate the route or ask other players not to visit the camp during the waiting period.
4. Use the waiting window productively
Thirty minutes is long enough to make a second activity part of the route. A second camp is the most direct option, but a quest, crafting session, inventory management, or travel also works. The goal is to avoid spending the entire interval standing at an empty spawn point while still keeping the original camp untouched.
5. Verify before starting the next cycle
Return after the approximate waiting period and inspect the whole camp. If enemies are present, clear it and record the result. If it is empty, leave again and allow more time rather than repeatedly crossing the boundary. A delayed reset is useful information about that location; it is not evidence that the general 30-minute statement is false.
How to choose between two camps
When several camps are available, compare the complete loop rather than the XP from one clear. Use the following criteria for each candidate:

- Enemy density and clear speed: Count how many targets you can defeat safely and how long the full clear takes.
- Level gap: A camp near your level may produce a steadier route than a higher-level location that causes deaths or long recovery periods.
- Travel and fast-travel access: Include the time to reach the camp, return to safety, and begin the next activity.
- Safety and terrain: Narrow paths, cliffs, Shroud hazards, and limited retreat options can turn a nominally fast clear into a slow one.
- Loading conditions: A base, a teammate, or frequent traffic may keep the area loaded and interfere with the waiting period.
- Drop value and downtime: Include the time spent sorting, repairing, healing, or replacing consumables if those activities are required for each run.

Calculate XP per minute instead of chasing the biggest clear
The useful comparison is sustained XP per minute across the whole loop. A simple calculation is:
XP per minute = total XP gained ÷ total minutes spent
Define “total minutes” consistently. Include the clear, travel, recovery, inventory work, and any waiting that is specific to your chosen route. If you alternate two camps during the respawn window, include the time spent clearing both and moving between them.
For a more realistic result, measure several cycles. One unusually fast clear or one death can distort a single run. Record the date and game version with each test because patches can change enemy behavior, rewards, or reset conditions. Compare routes only when the character level, equipment, difficulty settings, and definition of a “complete clear” are comparable.

Drop value can be tracked separately. If your goal is experience, do not let an attractive item drop obscure a slower XP route. If your goal combines XP and materials, record both outputs and decide how much travel or downtime you are willing to trade for the extra loot.

Why a camp may not respawn after 30 minutes
You returned too early
A quick visit to check the timer can load the area again. Leave the camp undisturbed for another interval and return only when you are ready to start a new clear.
The area did not remain unloaded
A teammate, another player, or activity near a base can keep the location active. Coordinate multiplayer routes and avoid placing the camp inside the area you routinely use as a base.

The 30-minute figure is a general developer statement. The available evidence does not establish that every camp, boss, root, and other world activity uses exactly the same reset rule. Record the behavior of the specific camp rather than converting the general figure into a guarantee.
A patch changed the mechanic
Enshrouded’s official wiki records the 1.0 launch on 15 October 2026 and classifies enemy camps as world locations. Respawn behavior can change with updates, so recheck the current patch notes or in-game behavior after a major version change. A route measured before an update may no longer have the same timing or XP efficiency.
The camp reset but the check was incomplete
Inspect the entire location instead of looking for one enemy at the entrance. A partial spawn can be easy to miss, especially when terrain separates groups. Verify the camp before abandoning the route, but do not make repeated short visits during the waiting period.

Do you need to log out?
No reliable evidence establishes logging out as a universal or immediate camp-reset method. The supported practical loop is to clear the location, leave it unloaded, wait approximately 30 minutes elsewhere, and return. Logging out may change your session state, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed shortcut or as a substitute for allowing the area to unload.
If you choose to test a logout-based routine, keep it separate from your normal measurements. Record whether the camp was empty or populated on return, how long you were away, and whether another player was present. Otherwise, you cannot tell whether the reset came from elapsed time, unloading, or a different condition.
Solo and multiplayer considerations
In solo play, you control when the camp is visited and can build a predictable rotation around one or two locations. In multiplayer, the same camp may not remain unloaded if another player enters it. Tell teammates which sites are being farmed, assign different camps during the waiting period, or treat shared locations as less reliable for a timed loop.
A base near the camp can also complicate testing. Normal construction, storage, crafting, or player movement may keep the surrounding area active. When possible, use a camp that is convenient to reach but outside the zone you use continuously. This does not guarantee a reset; it simply removes one avoidable source of interference.
Safety and efficiency trade-offs
The fastest theoretical camp is not always the best farming site. A route that causes regular deaths loses XP per minute to recovery, travel, and interrupted clears. Safer terrain with a clear retreat path can outperform a denser camp if it lets you complete every cycle without stopping.
Use the waiting interval to prepare for the next clear. Repair equipment, restock consumables, and organize inventory before returning. If those tasks are required after every run, include them in your timing rather than reporting only combat duration. The resulting number describes what you can sustain, not an idealized attack sequence.
Keep a short log with the camp name, patch or build, character level, XP before and after, clear duration, travel duration, deaths, consumables, and whether the camp was populated on return. This makes it easier to identify a delayed reset and to discard a route when a patch changes its behavior.
What is and is not currently known
