To reroll in Kaiju No. 8 The Game, finish only the opening tutorial and required battles, unlock Gacha, spend the available starting pulls on the active Pickup banner, and inspect the result. If it misses the target you set before pulling, return to the title screen and choose Menu (≡) > Delete Account, confirm the deletion, and repeat. Keep an account when it has a featured or otherwise valuable character, workable role coverage, and a compatible weapon; continuing forever usually costs more time than the extra improvement is worth.
Reroll decisions depend on the live banner. Rates, featured units, exchange items, and availability periods change, so open Gacha > select a Gacha > Appearance Rates/History > Appearance Rates in your own game before deciding what counts as a successful opening.
What rerolling does in Kaiju No. 8 The Game
Rerolling means repeating the first account setup until the initial summons produce a starting roster you are willing to keep. You are not re-rolling an individual character or changing a single pull. You are deleting the current player data and beginning the opening sequence again.

The reset is therefore a real account action, not a harmless refresh. The official support article “Deleting Account” says that deleting an account erases the in-progress data on the current device, prevents you from playing with that current account data, and normally removes the account from the system after seven days. Treat every reset as permanent for practical purposes: check the result, confirm that you are on the account you intend to discard, and do not delete a developed or linked account simply to test another banner.
Before your first reroll
Decide what a “win” means
Set a target before spending currency. A clear target prevents a good result from being discarded because a later result looks marginally better. For most new players, the target is one of these:
- The featured character on the active Pickup banner.
- A high-rarity character that fills a role your starting roster lacks, such as reliable damage, support, or survival utility.
- A character paired with a weapon that it can use effectively.
- A result that combines a useful character with meaningful progress toward a Pickup-medal exchange.
Do not assume that the best target is a permanent tier-list favorite. Pickup lineups rotate, featured characters can return, and the right opening depends on the banner currently available in your game. The official notices define each Pickup’s availability period and state that featured units may return.
Check the live banner information
Before pulling, open Gacha > select a Gacha > Appearance Rates/History > Appearance Rates. Read the featured list, the rarity rates, the weapon and character pools, the banner end time, and any exchange information shown there. This is the authoritative snapshot for your account and region at the moment you reroll.
The same menu contains History. The official FAQ says the game retains up to six months or 100 entries of gacha history. Use it to verify what actually appeared if an animation is interrupted or if you are comparing two attempts. History is a record, not a reset button; deleting an account does not turn a past result into a transferable pull.
Protect any account you may keep
Do not delete an account while it is linked to a service or while you are unsure which profile is active. If you obtain a result you want, link it and use Title Menu (≡) > Data Transfer before changing devices. A transfer setup is separate from rerolling and should be completed while the successful account is still accessible.

Exact reroll procedure
- Start a fresh session. Launch the game and complete only the opening tutorial and the required battles. Avoid optional upgrades, story detours, and resource spending until Gacha becomes available. The goal is to reach the first summons quickly without investing materials in an account you may delete.
- Unlock Gacha. Follow the tutorial’s required prompts until the Gacha menu opens. The precise number of battles or minutes can change with updates, so use the in-game progression rather than an old video’s sequence as your reference.
- Inspect the selected banner. In Gacha, select the Pickup banner you intend to evaluate and open Appearance Rates/History. Read Appearance Rates first. Confirm that the unit you want is actually featured and note the banner’s closing time. If the banner is not the one you planned for, stop before pulling and reassess.
- Record your starting criteria. Write down the minimum result you will keep: for example, the featured character; or a useful high-rarity damage unit plus a compatible weapon; or a specific role combination. Also note whether you are counting Pickup-medal progress as part of the decision.
- Spend the available starting pulls. Use the summons provided by the opening flow on the banner you selected. Keep track of whether each pull is a Pickup pull. Single pulls and 10-pulls both count toward the Pickup guarantee described below.
- Review the result, not just the animation. Check the obtained character’s role, rarity, and usable equipment options. Open the result list and, if necessary, verify it in Gacha > Appearance Rates/History > History. A duplicate may grant progression materials, but a first copy usually supplies more immediate roster value to a new account.
- Keep or reset. If the result meets your pre-set threshold, keep the account. If it misses and you still have time within your plan, return to the title screen, open Menu (≡) > Delete Account, confirm, and begin again. The deletion confirmation is the point of no return for that attempt.
- Secure a successful account. Link the account and use Title Menu (≡) > Data Transfer before moving to another device, reinstalling, or clearing local data. Verify that the transfer credentials or linked service work while the account is still open.
Gacha rules that change the value of a reroll
| Rule | What it means for your decision |
|---|---|
| Pickup Gacha Medal | Every pull on a Pickup Gacha grants one Pickup Gacha Medal. Medals do not expire, but the Shop’s exchange lineup is time-limited. A mediocre attempt can therefore have some lasting value, while the specific items available for exchange may disappear. |
| Pickup character guarantee | After nine consecutive Pickup pulls that produce weapons, the next Pickup pull is guaranteed to produce a character of ★4 or higher. |
| Counting across pull formats | The nine-pull rule works across single pulls and 10-pulls. A 10-pull is not a separate counter. |
| Counting across Pickup banners | The consecutive-result rule carries across different Pickup Gachas. Track the Pickup counter when changing from one Pickup banner to another. |
| Other gacha types | Standard, Special, and Ad gacha results do not affect the Pickup guarantee. Do not combine those results with Pickup weapons when judging your counter. |
| Duplicate characters | Duplicates convert into Encounter Stones, Talent Shards, and, after enough copies, Apatite Petals, with the exact material depending on rarity and acquisition count. A duplicate is not automatically worthless, although a first copy normally helps a new roster more. |
| Banner rotation | Each Pickup has a defined availability period, and featured units may return. Evaluate the banner shown in your game rather than relying on a permanent target list. |
The guarantee is narrower than a general “pity” system. It guarantees a ★4-or-higher character after the specified sequence of Pickup weapon results; it does not promise the featured character, and pulls from Standard, Special, or Ad banners do not advance it. Read the current banner details before treating the counter as a reason to keep an account.
What to look for in the first pulls
1. Featured-unit value on the live banner
A featured character is usually the clearest reroll objective because the banner is specifically weighting attention toward that unit. “Featured” does not mean universally best: a character’s value depends on the current content, your preferred play style, and whether the rest of the roster can support it. Confirm the exact featured list and end date in Appearance Rates rather than relying on a community list from a previous rotation.
2. Role coverage
Ask whether the account can form a functional team, not merely whether it contains the highest displayed rarity. A strong damage dealer without any practical support, or several units that all perform the same job, can leave early progression awkward. Favor a result that gives you at least one dependable way to deal damage and another unit that contributes a different useful function. The game’s menus and skill descriptions are the appropriate place to verify a unit’s role; do not infer it from rarity alone.
3. Weapon compatibility
Inspect the weapon pool alongside the character result. A weapon is valuable when the character you plan to use can equip it and benefit from its effects. A high-rarity weapon that cannot be used by your preferred opening character may be less helpful than a lower-rarity, compatible option. Keep the account when the character-and-weapon combination improves your immediate team rather than chasing an isolated rarity symbol.

4. Pickup-medal progress
Every Pickup pull grants one medal, and medals do not expire. That makes a result with useful medal progress more attractive than an identical result from a non-Pickup banner. However, the Shop exchange lineup is time-limited. Check which characters and weapons are currently eligible before assigning long-term value to the medals, and remember that eligibility can change when the banner period ends.
5. Duplicate value
If a first attempt produces a duplicate, inspect the conversion materials before discarding it. Duplicates provide Encounter Stones and Talent Shards, and enough copies can produce Apatite Petals; the amount and material depend on rarity and how many times the character has been acquired. For a brand-new account, a first copy generally offers broader roster coverage, but a duplicate can still be the better keep when it completes a build or arrives with a particularly strong featured result.

Stop immediately
Stop when you hit the featured character you wanted or another specifically targeted unit and the rest of the roster is workable. Continuing after meeting the stated objective exposes you to another deletion without a guaranteed improvement. Secure the account instead.
Keep and play
Keep an account when it has one strong featured or high-rarity character, a compatible weapon or useful second unit, and enough remaining resources to progress. This is the practical middle ground: the opening is not mathematically perfect, but it is strong enough that the time saved by playing can exceed the likely benefit of another reset.

Continue only with a defined target
Reset when the account misses the current banner objective, leaves you without usable damage or support coverage, or lacks a character you would otherwise spend resources pursuing. Before starting another attempt, set a maximum number of attempts or a time limit. That cap is a personal safeguard, not an official guarantee about success rates.
When two accounts both look good, compare them on the same five axes:
- How valuable the featured unit is on the live banner.
- Whether the characters cover different jobs and can form a usable team.
- Whether the available weapons match those characters.
- How much Pickup-medal progress each account has and which exchanges are currently available.
- How much time you have already spent rerolling.
The fifth factor matters because rerolling has an opportunity cost. Once an account clears your functional threshold, the next reset trades guaranteed progress for a chance at a narrower improvement.

Is rerolling worth it?
Rerolling is most defensible when you are at the very beginning, the tutorial is short enough for repeated attempts, and the active Pickup banner contains a character you genuinely want. It is less attractive after you have invested story progress, upgrades, medals, or linked-account setup. At that point, compare the value of the developed account with the uncertain value of a new opening rather than treating every new pull as automatically superior.
No independent study or publisher statistic establishes a universal reroll success rate for this game. Do not use an invented “average number of attempts” to plan your session. Rates are banner-specific and are shown in the game’s Appearance Rates screen. A personal time limit and a precommitted target are more reliable controls than a claimed success-rate estimate.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Deleting before checking the result
Do not press Delete Account while the result screen is still loading or before checking the full roster. Open history if the animation was interrupted, then make the keep-or-reset decision. Once you confirm deletion, the current attempt is no longer a safe fallback.
Using the wrong banner counter
Only Pickup pulls count toward the nine-consecutive-weapon guarantee. Standard, Special, and Ad results do not advance it. Record the banner type next to each result so you do not mistakenly believe a guarantee is closer than it is.
Assuming medals expire or are permanent shop tickets
Pickup medals themselves do not expire, but the Shop exchange lineup is time-limited. A medal saved for a future exchange is not a promise that today’s eligible character or weapon will remain available.
Rerolling for an old tier list
Featured units rotate and may return. Check the current Appearance Rates page and official availability notice in the game before selecting a target. An old recommendation can describe a banner that is no longer active.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFailing to secure the account after keeping it
Once you decide to keep an attempt, finish the transfer setup from Title Menu (≡) > Data Transfer before changing devices. Confirm access while the original session remains available.
Spending time on optional content during attempts
For reroll attempts, complete only the tutorial and required battles needed to unlock Gacha. Optional progression can be worthwhile on a keeper account but increases the cost of every reset.
Quick Recap
A practical reroll checklist
- Have I reached Gacha through only the required opening content?
- Did I read the active Pickup banner’s Appearance Rates and end time?
- Did I define the minimum character, role, and weapon result before pulling?
- Did I record which pulls were Pickup pulls?
- Did I check the complete result and, if needed, Gacha history?
- Does the account meet my keep threshold, including usable role coverage?
- If I am resetting, am I on the correct account and ready to confirm deletion?
- If I am keeping, have I linked the account and completed Data Transfer setup?
Bottom line
Use the shortest safe loop: tutorial, Gacha, live-banner check, pulls, result review, then either keep and secure the account or delete it from Menu (≡) > Delete Account. Prioritize a featured or otherwise valuable character with complementary role and weapon coverage. Pickup medals and the cross-Pickup character guarantee can improve the value of an attempt, but neither removes the need to read the current banner rules. Stop when the account is strong enough to play or when your pre-set target is met; pursue another reset only when you can name the specific improvement you are seeking.
