Open the suspected profile in Bumble, save screenshots and identifying details, then scroll to the bottom and choose Report or Block and Report. Select the closest reason, explain what appears deceptive, and submit. On Bumble on the web, use the flag icon labeled Block and Report beneath the profile photo. If you already unmatched, deleted your account, or can no longer open the profile, contact Bumble Support through Contact Us and provide the person’s name, your reason, screenshots, and any remaining location or conversation details.
Report the profile before you block or unmatch
The most useful report is made while the profile and conversation are still available. First preserve the information Bumble may need to identify the account; then submit the in-app or web report. Blocking stops the person from contacting you on Bumble, while the report sends the concern to Bumble’s safety process.
- Capture the profile name, age, bio, photos, stated location and any unusual profile text.
- Save relevant messages, profile links and usernames that appear in the conversation.
- Record any request for money, financial information, gift cards, investment, cryptocurrency or other payment.
- Do not warn the person that you are reporting them, because that can prompt them to delete messages or change the account.
Only report conduct you can describe accurately. An image that looks synthetic is not, by itself, proof that a person is committing fraud. The issue for Bumble is deceptive use: impersonation, a false identity, stolen photographs, catfishing, or artificially generated or enhanced images used to mislead other members.
How to report a fake or AI-generated profile in the Bumble app
- Open the member’s profile. Navigate to the profile from your match, conversation or discovery view while it is still visible.
- Scroll to the bottom. Bumble places the reporting control at the bottom of the profile.
- Choose Report or Block and Report. The wording can vary by screen, but both routes lead to the reporting prompts.
- Select the closest reason. Choose the option that best describes the behavior, such as a fake account, scam, impersonation, catfishing or other misrepresentation.
- Describe the evidence. State what you observed and why it appears deceptive. Mention inconsistent identity details, stolen-looking photographs, impossible or contradictory location claims, requests to move off Bumble, money requests, or other specific behavior.
- Submit the report. If you also want to stop contact, complete the blocking part of the same flow.
Keep the description factual and specific. “The face looks AI-generated” gives reviewers little to investigate. “The profile claims to be a local doctor, the photos show different people, and the member asked for a payment link after two messages” identifies the conduct and the evidence.

How to report on Bumble on the web
When using Bumble in a browser, open the profile and look beneath the profile photo for the flag icon labeled Block and Report.
- Open the suspected profile.
- Click the flag icon marked Block and Report.
- Choose the reason that most closely matches the account’s behavior.
- Add concrete details and submit the report.
Take screenshots before selecting the control if the profile may disappear after blocking. Include the browser view of the profile and any conversation evidence in your own records so you can provide it to Support if Bumble asks for more information.
Which reason should you choose for an AI or catfish profile?
Choose the closest available category rather than trying to find a special “AI” label. Bumble’s rules treat deceptive use of artificially generated or enhanced photos as part of inauthentic behavior. Its Community Guidelines prohibit impersonation and misrepresentation, including catfishing, false identity claims, pretending to be another person, and using someone else’s photos or artificially generated photos to deceive others.

Do not label a profile fraudulent solely because it uses an artistic filter, a professional retouch or an avatar. Explain the deception and the harm you are concerned about. Bumble can determine which policy category applies.

What screenshots and details should you send?
Bumble says screenshots and identifying details help its investigation. Gather the material before blocking, unmatching or deleting your account whenever possible.
Profile evidence
- Full or partial screenshots of each profile photo, including captions or badges.
- The displayed name, age, bio, occupation and stated location.
- Any verification indicator, profile prompt or link shown on the account.
- The profile URL or other identifier if Bumble displays one in your interface.
Conversation evidence
- Messages that contradict the profile’s identity or location.
- Requests to move to another app, use a private email address or avoid Bumble’s safety features.
- Promises, threats, urgent stories or instructions to click a link.
- Requests for money, bank details, card numbers, account credentials, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial transfers.
Context to write in your explanation
- When and where you encountered the account.
- What made you suspect deception.
- Whether you sent money or personal information.
- Whether the member threatened, harassed or repeatedly contacted you.
- Any remaining match, conversation or location information that can help Bumble find the account.
Crop screenshots only to remove unrelated private information; do not edit the material in a way that changes the meaning. Keep an original copy in a secure place. Never publish another person’s private messages or photographs as a warning post when a confidential report will address the issue.
Can you report someone after you unmatched?
Yes. If the profile or conversation is no longer accessible because you unmatched, deleted the account or lost access to Bumble, use Bumble Support’s Contact Us or support route. Explain that you can no longer use the in-app reporting control and provide everything you retained.
- Open Bumble’s Support or Contact Us route.
- Give the member’s displayed name and the reason you believe the account was fake, deceptive or unsafe.
- Attach screenshots or conversation evidence if the form permits attachments.
- Add the approximate location, dates, match context and any other profile details you remember.
- State whether there was a money request, threat, harassment or suspected criminal conduct.
Incomplete information does not make a report pointless. Send the identifiers you still have and clearly mark details you are uncertain about. Do not invent a username, location or date to fill a gap.

Will the person know you reported them?
Bumble states: “Your report is private and anonymous—the person won’t know you reported them.” The reported member is not given your identity as the reporter. Bumble’s team may contact you for additional information, so use an account or contact method you can safely access and check.
Privacy does not mean every outcome will be visible to you. Bumble may review the account, ask the member to complete photo verification, remove content, issue a warning or ban the account. It may not disclose the specific action taken.
What happens after Bumble receives a report?
Bumble says its safety team combines automated systems with human review. Its Deception Detector is described as an AI-driven fraud-detection system intended to identify suspicious activity before scams occur, alongside human support.

A profile reported as fake, scam or spam may be required to complete photo verification. Bumble says that if the member fails verification, it may remove the profile. Other possible enforcement includes content removal, warnings, verification requirements or account bans.

- Private review: Your report and identity as the reporter remain private and anonymous.
- Follow-up: Bumble may contact you for more information or evidence.
- Contact protection: Blocking prevents the reported person from contacting you on Bumble.
- Variable enforcement: The action depends on Bumble’s review; no published removal rate or guaranteed response time is stated for AI-generated-profile reports.
Do not create multiple duplicate reports simply to force a particular outcome. If you discover important new evidence, add it through the existing Support conversation or reporting route.
What to do if the profile asked for money or sensitive information
Stop communicating about the transaction and do not send money, identity documents, passwords, one-time codes or financial information. Block the account after preserving evidence and report the conduct to Bumble.
- If you shared a password, change it immediately anywhere it was reused and enable available account security controls.
- If you disclosed card or bank details, contact the financial institution using its official number and ask what protective steps apply.
- If you sent money, retain receipts, payment addresses and messages; report the transaction to the payment provider as soon as possible.
- If the person made an immediate threat, attempted extortion or engaged in suspected criminal conduct, contact local law enforcement or the appropriate emergency service.
Do not move the conversation off Bumble under pressure. A demand for secrecy, urgency or a private payment channel is relevant context for your report, but it is not a reason to confront the person yourself.
Choose the right reporting route

Troubleshooting when the report option is missing
The profile disappeared
Use Support’s Contact Us route and explain that you cannot access the profile. Attach the screenshots and identifiers saved before it disappeared.

You blocked first
Blocking protects you from further Bumble contact, but send a separate Support report if you did not complete the reporting form. Include the reason for the block and all evidence retained.
You cannot remember the exact name
Provide approximate details instead: location, age range, profile wording, conversation dates, match context and screenshots. Label uncertain information as approximate.
The account keeps reappearing
Report each accessible account, note that you believe the profiles are connected, and include matching photos, names, links or message patterns. Do not engage to gather more evidence if doing so increases your risk.

You do not need to prove the technology used. Report the observable deception—false identity, stolen photographs, contradictory claims, financial manipulation or other misrepresentation—and let Bumble assess authenticity.
How to write a strong report
A concise chronology is easier to review than speculation. Use this order:
- Identify the account: name, age, location and any profile identifier.
- State the concern: for example, “I believe this profile is impersonating another person” or “The photos appear artificially generated and were used with a false identity.”
- List observable facts: conflicting locations, reused photos, inconsistent answers, copied text or a payment request.
- Explain the risk: scam attempt, privacy concern, harassment, threat or suspected criminal conduct.
- List attachments: profile images, messages, links and payment evidence.
A useful report distinguishes what you saw from what you infer. Write “the member asked me to send £500 to release a package” rather than “this is definitely an organized crime ring.” Specific facts give Bumble a basis for review without overstating the evidence.
What not to do
- Do not send money or financial information to test whether the account is genuine.
- Do not share passwords, authentication codes, identity documents or private workplace information.
- Do not continue a conversation solely to collect evidence when you already feel unsafe.
- Do not publicly publish the person’s private information, intimate images or personal contact details.
- Do not assume every AI-assisted image is malicious; report deceptive identity use, not a visual style alone.
- Do not expect Bumble to publish a removal decision, removal rate or response deadline; no quantitative figure for those outcomes is stated.
A practical checklist before you submit
- Access: Is the profile still open, or do you need Support because you unmatched or lost access?
- Evidence: Did you save the name, age, bio, photos, location, messages, links and payment requests?
- Reason: Did you choose the closest category and describe the deception rather than only saying the image looks fake?
- Protection: Have you stopped contact, avoided payment and blocked the account if appropriate?
- Escalation: Is there a threat, fraud or suspected crime requiring a payment provider, law enforcement or emergency service?
- Follow-up: Can Bumble Support reach you if it needs more information?
Bottom line
Use Bumble’s Report or Block and Report flow while the profile is visible, select the closest fake-account, scam, impersonation or misrepresentation reason, and describe the specific deception. Save evidence first. If the match is gone, contact Bumble Support with the person’s name, screenshots and remaining details. Bumble says reports are private and anonymous; protect yourself by refusing money requests, keeping the conversation on-platform when possible, blocking the account and escalating threats or suspected crimes to the appropriate authorities.
