For a normal Fortnite gameplay glitch, report it from the in-game menu while the problem is still visible: open the menu, choose the three-line button, select Report → Submit a report → A bug, choose the closest reason, then continue and accept. The tool captures a screenshot at submission (you can retake it), but it does not accept video. Give Epic reproducible steps, your platform and input device, the mode or island, approximate time and region, expected and actual results, and how often it happens.
Use Epic’s dedicated Creative/UEFN bug form when a project, published island or editor log is involved. If video is essential, post it through an appropriate official community channel and follow its reporting instructions. On PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, check Fortnite Status, Epic Games Status and the console network-status page before filing a report.
Use the in-game report for most gameplay glitches
The in-game form is the default route for a Battle Royale or other ordinary Fortnite-session bug. It sends Epic context from the client and adds a screenshot captured when you submit. Reporting at the moment the failure is visible gives developers a useful frame instead of a menu, loading screen or later state.

Controls can differ if you use a custom layout, but the report command remains in the game menu. Epic’s current labels are shown below; an older client may instead display Reporting → Report a Bug, player, or Island → Report a Bug. Updates can rename or move these entries, so choose the closest equivalent rather than assuming the older wording is missing.

Submit the report
- Open the menu using your platform’s control.
- Select the hamburger button (three horizontal lines).
- Select Report.
- Select Submit a report.
- Choose A bug as the report type.
- Select the reason that best describes the failure. Choose Other when none of the listed categories fits.
- Check the automatically captured screenshot. If it shows the wrong moment, retake it while the glitch is visible. The tool does not accept video uploads.
- Select Continue, then Accept to send the report.
Stay in the affected screen until the capture is complete when possible. If the issue disappears as soon as a menu opens, reproduce it again, open the report controls quickly and retake the frame before submitting.
Make the report reproducible
A screenshot tells Epic what one frame looked like; a reproduction recipe tells an engineer how to reach that state. Put the following facts in any text field the form provides, or keep them in your notes when the client offers no description box. State observations separately from theories about the cause.
Identify the context
- Fortnite experience: Battle Royale, Zero Build, a named limited-time mode, Creative, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing or another mode.
- Island name and island code for Creative content; include the published version or matchmaking context when relevant.
- Platform, operating-system version if known, and input device (keyboard and mouse, controller model, touch controls or a specific peripheral).
- Approximate date and time, time zone and matchmaking region. A narrow time window helps correlate server and session logs.
- The item, weapon, quest, NPC, vehicle, device, animation or interaction involved.
Describe the exact sequence
- Write the actions immediately before the failure in order, including the location, menu choice, button press or item pickup.
- Describe the trigger that makes the glitch appear.
- Record what you expected to happen.
- Record what actually happened, including visible errors, missing effects, incorrect damage, stuck movement, lost progress or a crash.
- Say whether the result is consistent, intermittent or a one-time occurrence, and give an approximate frequency such as “four times in five attempts.”
- Repeat after restarting the game, changing sessions or trying the same action again, and note whether the result changed.
Use concrete names and numbers instead of labels such as “it broke.” “After opening the second chest in a private match, the quest counter stayed at 1/3” is actionable; “the quest is bugged” is not. If you suspect lag, a server problem or a particular item, mark that as a possibility unless you directly observed it. Do not present a guess as a confirmed cause.

A concise example
Mode: Zero Build, public match
Platform/input: Xbox Series X, wireless controller
Region/time: Europe, approximately 19:40 UTC on 19 October 2026
Steps: Land at the named location, collect the thermal item, switch to it, then aim at an opponent through the doorway.
Expected: The thermal outline appears while aiming.
Actual: The screen turns gray and the reticle disappears for about five seconds; movement still works.
Frequency: 3 of 4 attempts in two matches.
Checks: Restarting Fortnite did not change it; it has not been tested on another platform.
Observation versus theory: The gray screen is confirmed; a rendering-driver cause is only a guess.This format is short enough for a report but gives an engineer a repeatable path and clear boundaries around what you know.
Understand the screenshot and video limitation
Epic’s in-game guidance states: “Submitting video evidence is not supported by this tool.” The client does attach a screenshot taken when you click to submit, and it offers a retake if the first image is unhelpful. Plan the report around that single frame: leave the relevant HUD, inventory, quest text or error message visible, and avoid covering it with another menu.
When motion, timing or a sequence cannot be explained by one image, use a public channel that permits a user-posted clip. Reddit posts should carry the Bug tag. In an official Discord server, follow the instructions in #how-to-report-bugs. On X, use the status account for the affected experience; Epic identifies @FortniteStatus for Battle Royale and separate handles for LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival and Rocket Racing. Social posts are supplementary visibility, not a substitute for the in-game report when a normal gameplay report is possible.

Use one route as the authoritative report and reference the same reproduction details elsewhere. Posting the same message repeatedly can split the evidence and make follow-up harder.

Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) issues have a dedicated Epic bug-report form. Epic says including logs is “strongly encouraged,” particularly when the editor crashes, a device behaves differently from its preview, or a published island fails for players.
Prepare a Creative/UEFN submission
- Name the project and published island, and provide its island code when players can access it.
- Identify whether the failure occurs in UEFN, an in-editor preview, a private test session or the published island.
- List the device, verse script, asset, trigger, quest or gameplay system involved.
- Preserve the relevant log file or crash identifier before restarting if the failure produces one.
- Give the shortest sequence that reproduces the issue and state whether another tester or platform sees it.
Do not paste secrets, account credentials or private keys into a public post. Attach logs through the dedicated form when possible; use a public channel only for sanitized excerpts and a link-free description of the symptom.

Check known issues before reporting a console problem
For Fortnite on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5, first check Fortnite Status, the Epic Games Status page and the relevant platform-status page. A widespread outage or maintenance event can look like a local glitch. If no matching incident is listed, reproduce the problem and submit the in-game report. Epic notes that console reports contain Fortnite game logs that help developers identify and fix issues.
What a status check can and cannot tell you
- A matching incident explains why the failure may be widespread; you can wait for the service update instead of filing duplicate reports.
- No listed incident does not prove the problem is unique or caused by your hardware. Continue with a reproducible report if the behavior persists.
- Status pages change during an outage, so record the approximate time and region in your report.
Troubleshoot a report that will not send
The Report option is missing
Confirm that you opened the full game menu rather than a party, inventory or pause overlay. Look for the three-line hamburger button and the current equivalent of Report. If your client uses the older Reporting path, follow it to Report a Bug. Menu labels vary by version and platform.

The screenshot captured the wrong frame
Return to the place where the glitch is visible, open the report flow without changing the scene and use the retake control. If the issue lasts only a fraction of a second, describe the timing precisely because the tool cannot attach a video.

No reason matches
Choose Other, then explain the symptom in plain language. Do not force a rendering problem into an unrelated category merely to submit the form.
The glitch stopped happening
Submit only after you can reproduce it when practical. If it was a one-time crash, include the last successful action, approximate time, platform, mode and any crash identifier or log available. Mark it as a single occurrence rather than implying a confirmed pattern.
You need to show motion
File the in-game report with a written timeline, then use the appropriate official Reddit, Discord or X channel for a sanitized clip. State that the clip supplements the in-game report; do not include account email addresses, purchase receipts or other private data in a public post.
What happens after submission
The report is a signal for Epic’s developers, not a support chat that promises an individual reply. Keep your original reproduction notes so you can answer consistently if a community moderator asks for more context. If a later update changes the behavior, record the update and whether the original steps still reproduce it.
Epic says, “No, we do not offer rewards for bug reports.” Report because it helps identify and fix a problem, not because a payment, item or status is expected.
