To reduce printing with a Glock 48 carried inside the waistband (IWB), first locate the visible outline. Grip protrusion and a muzzle end tilting away from the body call for different adjustments: a compatible concealment wing or claw may rotate the grip inward, while a correctly placed wedge may help tilt the holstered firearm toward the body. Make one reversible change at a time, then reassess in ordinary movement.
What printing is—and why the location matters
Printing is the visible outline of a concealed firearm through clothing. The Glock 48’s slim profile does not determine how it will sit on every person: the holster, belt pressure, clothing, body shape, and movement all affect the result. GLOCK described the G48 as a Slimline concealed-carry pistol with an approximately 1-inch minimal profile and a 6.85-inch slide in its January 2, 2018 announcement. Those are manufacturer descriptions; check the exact pistol variant and configuration when assessing holster fit. The same announcement lists a 10-round magazine capacity.
Look for the outline during ordinary activity and note whether it comes from the grip, the muzzle end, or another part of the holstered setup. A grip that angles away from the body often needs a different correction from a muzzle end that tips outward. Neither an accessory nor a particular carry position guarantees concealment.
Diagnose the movement before changing gear
Use a gentle “Poke and Check” observation
PHLster, a holster maker, describes a “Poke and Check” method: gently press the holstered setup at the point where clothing shows an outline and observe how it shifts. Treat this as a practical observation, not a standardized test. Do not manipulate the firearm or use the check as a substitute for safe handling.

- If the grip moves or rotates toward the body when pressed, a wing or claw may address the grip’s tendency to protrude.
- If the muzzle end moves away from the body, a wedge may help change the tilt and fill the gap.
- If another area prints, inspect how the holster and belt sit there rather than assuming either accessory will solve it.
Match an adjustment to the problem
Grip protruding: consider a wing or claw
A wing or claw uses pressure from the belt to rotate the grip inward toward the body. It is most relevant when the grip is the part that prints. Check that the holster is designed for the exact Glock 48 variant and for any optic or light attached to the pistol; a part that does not fit the setup may not work as intended.
Muzzle end tilting outward: consider a wedge
A wedge sits under the muzzle end of the holster and can tilt the top of the holstered firearm toward the body. Its placement matters: try a compatible wedge only when the observed problem is muzzle-end tilt or a gap in that area. If the change worsens comfort or makes another area print, adjust or remove it rather than adding more pressure automatically.

Unstable support: review belt and holster fit
Wings and wedges rely on a stable holstered setup and belt pressure. If the holster shifts noticeably, check its fit and how securely the belt supports it. A specialty belt is not automatically necessary; the relevant question is whether the belt you use keeps the setup stable enough for the adjustment to work with your clothing.
Test changes in normal movement
Make one reversible adjustment at a time so you can tell what changed. Recheck the outline and comfort while sitting, bending, reaching, and walking in the clothing you ordinarily wear. Pressure or movement can change the result, and improving one point may create discomfort or a new outline elsewhere. Allow for more than one adjustment cycle rather than judging a setup from a single standing position.

Check fit and safety before carrying
- Confirm that the holster manufacturer lists compatibility with your exact Glock 48 variant and any optic or light configuration.
- Follow the firearm owner’s manual and safe-handling guidance; concealment adjustments do not replace them. GLOCK’s official resources page lists an owner’s manual covering Models G17–G48 and important safety and product information.
- Follow the laws that apply where you carry. The requirements vary by location, so check the rules for your jurisdiction rather than treating a general concealment guide as legal advice.
PHLster explains its approach this way: “When the gun is tucked in tight against your body, your clothing can flow around it, reducing printing and giving you better concealment.” This is holster-maker guidance, not a guarantee or an independently measured result.
