The fastest way to stop Aion 2 rubber-banding is to identify where packets are being lost before changing settings: check NC’s service notices, compare Wi-Fi with wired Ethernet, remove household traffic, and test your home gateway separately from the wider Internet. If Ethernet is clean while Wi-Fi is not, fix the wireless link. If every device fails at the same time, involve your ISP. If only Aion 2 is affected after local tests are clean, send NC a timestamped report with your country, ISP, start date, region or server, and reproduction pattern.
Aion 2’s official Steam and NC listings require a broadband Internet connection for both minimum and recommended configurations. They do not publish a required download speed, latency, jitter limit, or packet-loss percentage, so no universal “safe” number can be promised. Aion 2 was listed for release on 5 October 2026, with NC identified as developer and publisher.
What packet loss looks like in Aion 2
Packet loss means some data sent between your device and the game service never arrives or arrives too late to be useful. In a real-time game, that can appear as a character snapping backward, delayed skill activation, enemies freezing and then moving suddenly, chat arriving in bursts, or a disconnect. Those symptoms are not proof that the game server is at fault. The same experience can come from wireless interference, a saturated home connection, an overloaded router, an ISP route, or a service-side incident.

Neither the Steam listing nor NC’s published requirements establish a minimum bandwidth, maximum latency, acceptable jitter, or packet-loss threshold. A speed-test result therefore cannot certify that your Aion 2 route is healthy: a speed test may use a nearby server, run for only a few seconds, and measure throughput rather than loss during the route and time when you play.

Separate the symptom from the cause
- Rubber-banding: your client corrects its position after missing or delayed updates.
- Input delay: an action appears late even though the frame rate is normal.
- Short freezes: the game stops receiving updates and then catches up.
- Disconnects: the session loses communication long enough for the client or server to close it.
- Only one activity is affected: a particular dungeon, PvP match, or time window may use a different server path than other activities.
Before changing graphics, reinstalling the client, or buying a networking product, establish whether the loss follows your Wi-Fi, your entire home, your ISP route, or only Aion 2.
Use four comparisons to locate the loss
Record four things every time the problem occurs. These comparisons turn a vague complaint into evidence that can be acted on.

Step 1: Check for an NC service incident first
Look for current NC maintenance announcements, incident notices, and service-status messages before resetting equipment. A confirmed service interruption cannot be repaired by changing your Wi-Fi channel or DNS. Note the announcement time and the affected region, then wait for the stated recovery window or follow NC’s instructions.
If no incident is posted, continue with local tests while keeping the time of each test. Service notices can lag behind a developing problem, so an absence of an announcement is not proof that the service is healthy; it only means you need more evidence.

Step 2: Build a reproducible baseline
Use the same character, region, and activity long enough to see the symptom, then repeat after one controlled change. A useful log contains:
- Date and local time, including your time zone.
- Your country and Internet Service Provider.
- Aion 2 region and server, if the client displays them.
- Whether the connection was Ethernet, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, or another wireless band.
- The activity: login, open-world travel, dungeon, PvP, or another repeatable event.
- What happened: delayed actions, teleporting, a freeze, or a disconnect.
- Whether another device was downloading, streaming, syncing, or making a large upload.
- Whether the issue appeared on more than one device and whether Ethernet changed it.
Use local clock times consistently. If you later contact NC, these timestamps let support correlate your session with server and route records instead of treating the report as an intermittent, unbounded complaint.
Step 3: Compare wired Ethernet with Wi-Fi
Run the clean test
- Connect the gaming PC directly to the router with a known-good Ethernet cable. A Cat6 cable is a practical choice for this test and can remain your permanent connection if wireless is the cause.
- Turn off Wi-Fi on the PC so it cannot silently switch back to the wireless adapter.
- Close or pause downloads, cloud synchronization, video streams, and launchers that may update in the background.
- Play the same Aion 2 activity during a similar time window and record whether rubber-banding or disconnects occur.
- Repeat over Wi-Fi under otherwise similar conditions. Do not change several router settings between the two runs.
If the wired run is stable and the wireless run is not, the game and ISP route may be fine while the radio link is dropping or retransmitting traffic. Keep Ethernet, move the access point, reduce interference, or tune the wireless network before pursuing an ISP escalation.

The reviewed connection guidance recommends wired connections and says 5 GHz Wi-Fi can reduce lag spikes. That is third-party advice, not an NC requirement. Five-gigahertz Wi-Fi often has more available channels and less congestion than older bands, but it normally covers a shorter distance and penetrates walls less effectively. A 5 GHz connection that is too far from the router can be less stable than a strong connection on another band, so compare actual behavior rather than assuming a band name guarantees performance.

Improve the wireless link if Ethernet fixes it
- Place the router or access point in an open, elevated location rather than inside a cabinet or behind dense furniture.
- Reduce distance and walls between the gaming device and access point; avoid placing the access point beside cordless-phone bases, large appliances, or other likely radio-noise sources.
- Use the router’s wireless settings to select a less congested channel if automatic selection repeatedly chooses a busy one. The exact labels differ by model.
- Install the router’s current firmware through its administration page or vendor app, then reboot it normally. Do not factory-reset it unless you have the configuration details needed to restore Internet access.
- Prefer one nearby access point over a weak extender hop. If a mesh node is required, test the gaming device against the nearest node and note whether the node uses a wireless backhaul.
Step 4: Remove local contention
Packet loss can be caused by a full upload queue even when a speed test reports a fast download rate. Pause game or operating-system updates, cloud backups, photo uploads, torrents, and high-bitrate streams while reproducing the issue. Ask other household users to stop large transfers for one test, then repeat with normal activity. If Aion 2 becomes unstable only when someone uploads or downloads heavily, the home connection is contending for queue space.
Check the router’s connected-device list and traffic monitor if it provides one. A device that is repeatedly uploading can affect every player in the home. Schedule backups and large updates outside play sessions, or use the router’s traffic-priority or smart-queue feature if available. Configure such controls conservatively and verify the result with the Ethernet test; a poorly configured priority rule can add delay rather than remove it.
Step 5: Check the router and home link
Reboot without erasing configuration
- Exit Aion 2 and save any other work that uses the Internet.
- Power off the router. If you use a separate modem or optical network terminal, power it off as well.
- Wait for the equipment to finish shutting down, then power on the modem or optical terminal first and wait for its normal connection indicators.
- Power on the router, wait for its Internet and Wi-Fi services to return, and then reconnect the PC.
- Repeat the same Aion 2 test and compare the timestamp with your log.
This clears transient state; it does not repair a damaged cable, a congested ISP route, or an NC outage. Avoid pressing a factory-reset button as a troubleshooting shortcut because it removes the settings that connect your home to the ISP.

- Reseat the Ethernet cable at both ends and try another router port.
- Replace a cable with a damaged latch, bent connector, or intermittent link light.
- If the modem or optical terminal reports repeated line errors or loses synchronization, record those events for the ISP instead of repeatedly rebooting.
- Check whether the router is overheating or restarting; unexpected uptime resets can look like game disconnects.
Use quality-of-service controls carefully
Some routers expose traffic prioritization, bandwidth limits, or smart queue management. These can help when another device fills the upload queue, but menu names and correct settings vary. Start with one rule for the gaming PC or console, test under the same household load, and remove the rule if latency or loss becomes worse. Do not claim success from a single speed test; verify with the in-game symptom and a repeatable local test.

Step 6: Test each part of the path with built-in tools
These commands do not measure an NC server’s private network directly. They show whether loss appears between your computer and the home gateway, or farther away. Run them during the same period in which Aion 2 misbehaves.
Windows
- Open Command Prompt from the Start menu.
- Find the default gateway by running
ipconfigand noting the Default Gateway address for the active adapter. - Send a sustained local test with
ping -n 100 <gateway-address>. - Test a public Internet endpoint with
ping -n 100 1.1.1.1. Replace the endpoint if your ISP blocks or deprioritizes it. - Use
tracert 1.1.1.1to view the route andpathping 1.1.1.1when you need a longer combined trace. Allow pathping several minutes to complete.
macOS or Linux
- Open Terminal.
- Find the gateway in your network settings, or inspect the active route with
route -n get defaulton macOS orip routeon Linux. - Run
ping -c 100 <gateway-address>for the local link. - Run
ping -c 100 1.1.1.1for a public endpoint. - Run
traceroute 1.1.1.1. On some Linux distributions the command is namedtracepath.
Stop a continuous ping with Ctrl+C. Save the output with its timestamp; do not post your public IP address or other account details in a public forum.
Interpret the results cautiously

ICMP replies can be blocked or deprioritized, so a failed ping to one public address is not conclusive. Test more than one endpoint, compare with the gateway result, and correlate the command output with the exact Aion 2 incident time. The commands also do not establish an official Aion 2 latency or packet-loss limit, because NC has not published one.
Distinguish an ISP route problem from an Aion 2 problem
If several household devices become slow or lose connectivity together, the home link, router, or ISP is the stronger suspect. If web browsing and other games remain normal while Aion 2 alone rubber-bands, the route from your ISP to the relevant service or a service-side issue becomes more plausible. A problem that appears only during evening congestion suggests a time-dependent access or transit issue; a problem limited to one dungeon or PvP session suggests a different server path or instance, but it still needs timestamps to verify.

Do not treat a VPN, DNS change, or route-optimization product as a guaranteed cure. DNS normally affects name resolution before a session starts, not packet delivery after the connection is established. A VPN changes the path and can bypass one congested segment in some cases, but the reviewed guidance advises avoiding VPNs unless they are required because the additional routing can worsen latency. Use one only as a controlled comparison and keep it out of the final diagnosis if it adds delay or instability.
What to send NC when the problem persists
NC’s support instruction says: “After basic troubleshooting, if you are still running into this issue, please provide the following details so we can investigate:” Its explicitly requested details are your current country, when the issue first started, and your Internet Service Provider.
Add the evidence that makes your case reproducible:
- Exact dates and local times, with time zone.
- Aion 2 region, server, character or activity context when relevant, and whether the issue occurs in open world, dungeons, or PvP.
- Whether Ethernet changed the symptom compared with Wi-Fi.
- Whether other devices or games were affected at the same time.
- Whether the issue is constant, peak-hour only, or tied to a specific session.
- Gateway and public-endpoint test results, including the command, packet count, and observed loss.
- Any NC maintenance notice that overlapped the incident.
Describe what you changed and the result once, in order: for example, “Wi-Fi showed rubber-banding; 30 minutes on direct Ethernet during the same activity was stable; the issue returned on Wi-Fi.” This is more useful than reporting only a speed-test download number.
Choose a physical fix only after the comparison
A Cat6 Ethernet cable is the most directly relevant purchase because it enables the wired-versus-Wi-Fi test and can provide the stable connection if wireless is the source. Choose a length that avoids sharp bends and trip hazards, connect it directly to the router when possible, and verify the negotiated link in your operating system. A cable cannot fix loss that is already present on the modem, ISP route, or NC service, so perform the comparison before buying additional networking hardware.
A practical decision sequence
- Check NC maintenance and incident announcements.
- Log the time, region or server, activity, and exact symptom.
- Pause household downloads, uploads, streams, and synchronization.
- Repeat the activity on direct Ethernet and then on Wi-Fi.
- Ping the home gateway, then a public endpoint, during the symptom.
- Use the results to classify the problem as wireless, home equipment, ISP route, or Aion 2-specific.
- Escalate to the ISP for persistent line or route evidence, or to NC for an Aion 2-only pattern, including country, start date, ISP, timestamps, and reproduction details.
This process avoids guessing at a packet-loss target that Aion 2 does not publish and prevents a generic speed test, DNS change, or paid routing service from being mistaken for proof of a game-server fault.
