The strongest topic-level option is Google’s Gambling preference in My Ad Center; the other platforms offer ways to hide or report individual ads, with different controls and limits.
This guide reflects platform information checked on October 4, 2026. Menu names and availability can vary by app version, account, and region.

| Google services, including YouTube | Turn off Gambling under Sensitive topics in My Ad Center | Topic preference for a signed-in Google account; Google says it applies on Google services such as Search, YouTube, and Discover. | Best-effort reduction, not a guaranteed block. | YouTube | Block an individual ad or report it | Ad-level action; blocking is available when you have chosen to customize ads in My Ad Center. | Applies to the ad you act on, not all gambling ads. YouTube ad controls. |

Reduce gambling ads on YouTube and other Google services
Turn off the Gambling topic
- While signed in to the Google account you use on YouTube, open My Ad Center.
- Select Customize Ads, then choose Sensitive.
- Find Gambling and turn it off. Google says the preference saves automatically.
Google describes this as an effort to show fewer ads about selected sensitive topics, not an absolute prohibition. Some ads may still appear—for example, an ad that mentions gambling in another context, or an ad related to a gambling-related search. See Google’s explanation of how sensitive-topic limits work.
Block or report a specific YouTube ad
When an ad appears, select More or Info on the ad and choose Block ad, if that option is available. YouTube says this individual-ad control is available when you have chosen to customize ads in My Ad Center. If an ad seems inappropriate or may violate policy, use the reporting option instead. Details are in YouTube’s ad controls help.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors#1 Best Overall
These viewer controls are different from YouTube Studio’s ad-category and URL blocking tools. Those are for creators managing ads on their own channel, and the documented blocks apply to Watch Page ads and AdSense for YouTube with limitations for feed and Shorts; they do not block ads in a viewer’s own YouTube experience. See YouTube’s creator-side ad controls.
What you can do about gambling ads on Instagram
Instagram’s ad interface includes options such as Hide Ad and Report Ad, and ad preferences are available through Accounts Center. The exact labels, paths, and available topic choices may differ by account or region. When you see a gambling ad, use its menu to hide it or report it if the relevant option appears. You can also review Accounts Center’s ad preferences for any relevant topic controls.
A Singapore regulator’s 2024 Instagram safety report documents these interface controls. It does not establish that every Instagram user has a gambling-specific ad-topic switch, so treat any such option as account-dependent rather than universal.
What you can do about gambling ads on TikTok
TikTok documents ad-personalization controls, options for managing how partner-shared information about off-TikTok activity is used, and a way to hide ads from specific advertisers that recently showed you an ad. If a gambling advertiser appears in the list of advertisers you can hide, use that control to reduce ads from that advertiser. TikTok’s description does not establish a setting that blocks the gambling category as a whole; see its ad-control overview.

Do not mistake Manage topics for an ad-blocking feature. TikTok describes it as a way to tune topics in the For You feed, not as a control for ads. Its purpose is explained in TikTok’s Manage topics help.

- Check that you changed the Google preference while signed in to the account you use on YouTube, and confirm Gambling remains turned off in My Ad Center.
- Use the ad’s own hide, block, or report option when it is available. Topic preferences and ad-level controls have different scopes.
- Review Instagram’s and TikTok’s current in-app ad controls; names and availability can change, and some controls are account- or region-dependent.
- Do not treat a feed-topic setting, creator-side controls, or a single advertiser hide as a platform-wide gambling-ad ban.
YouTube also offers paid memberships for an ad-free YouTube experience. That addresses YouTube only; it does not remove ads from Instagram or TikTok. Current options are described in YouTube’s paid membership help.
