YouTube pays Super Chat earnings to eligible creators in India through AdSense for YouTube—not through a separate Super Chat payout service. To receive the money, qualify for Supers, accept YouTube’s Commerce Product Module, set up the payout account in YouTube Studio, complete any requested verification and tax steps, add an available payment method, and meet the payment threshold shown in your account. YouTube’s payment-method table lists wire transfer for India.
Before you can receive Super Chat money
Super Chat and Super Stickers are fan-funded features for eligible live chats and Premieres. Being based in India does not by itself make a channel eligible: YouTube’s requirements include being at least 18, living where Supers are available, accepting the Commerce Product Module, and meeting YouTube’s channel and feature policies. India is on YouTube’s availability list, but restrictions or a channel review can still affect access.
Check the channel’s monetisation area in YouTube Studio to confirm whether Supers are available and complete the prompts shown there. Super Chat purchases are not a direct bank transfer from viewers; they become part of YouTube earnings and are paid through the creator’s AdSense for YouTube payments account.
Set up your payout account
- Open YouTube Studio and follow the AdSense for YouTube setup flow. Use the dedicated setup route in Studio rather than creating a separate AdSense account independently. YouTube earnings are paid through AdSense for YouTube. Do not create a duplicate account under the same payee name; follow the account prompts to link or establish the correct payments account.
- Check the payee name and address. Enter accurate details for the person or entity receiving payment. Google may request identity verification. After identity verification, Google may mail an address PIN; enter it in the account to verify the address.
- Submit tax information requested by Google. All monetising creators must submit tax information. Google may withhold tax on earnings from US viewers. This does not determine any separate tax liability you may have in India.
- Add a payment method in the payments account. For a payment address in India, YouTube’s payment-options table lists wire transfer as available; cheque, EFT and Hyperwallet are marked unavailable. The actual “Add payment method” view in your account is the final check, because the options depend on the payments address.
How much of a Super Chat does the creator receive?
YouTube says: “Creators receive 70% of Supers revenue that is confirmed by Google.” This is not 70% of the viewer’s gross purchase price: YouTube says the calculation is after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. The Help page does not display a publication date for this revenue-share statement.

Understand the threshold and monthly payment schedule
There are distinct account milestones: a threshold for choosing a payment method and a separate payment threshold. Each payments account has its own threshold, and the applicable payment threshold depends on the account’s reporting currency. The official threshold table consulted did not show an INR row, so there is no universal rupee threshold to quote here. Check the Payments page in your AdSense for YouTube account for the threshold that applies to you.

If the balance has not reached the payment threshold by the 20th, or payment details or holds are unresolved, the balance rolls forward rather than being paid in that cycle.

Why the final payment can differ from estimated earnings
Estimated earnings are not necessarily the amount ultimately paid. Google says it may adjust earnings before finalisation for invalid traffic, copyright claims or disputes, some ad campaign types, and taxes on earnings from US viewers. Payment may also be withheld or earnings deducted if policies or applicable terms are violated.
Tax considerations for creators in India
Google’s general guidance says creators may separately owe tax in their country or region of residence, in addition to any applicable withholding on earnings from US viewers. It does not establish an individual Indian creator’s tax rate, filing obligations or treatment. For those questions, check current Indian tax authority guidance or consult a qualified tax professional.
