There is no verified best GTA 6 combat-settings preset yet. As of October 31, 2026, Grand Theft Auto VI has not launched, so its final aiming options, weapon-switch controls and menu defaults have not been confirmed. Rockstar has announced a November 19, 2026 release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Until the game’s options can be checked, you can prepare by setting up console-level controller remapping and accessibility features—but those are not confirmed GTA 6 settings.
What are the best GTA 6 settings for combat right now?
There are no verified GTA 6 combat settings to recommend before launch. In particular, no confirmed sensitivity values, reticle-visibility options, or quick-switch command have been established. A console’s controller and accessibility settings are available now, but they do not prove that a particular GTA 6 action can be assigned to a particular button.

Think of this as an ergonomic adjustment, not a way to create a game feature. As on PS5, an Xbox-level layout change is not confirmation that GTA 6 supports a desired weapon action or that a particular mapping will make switching faster. Xbox also provides color filters at the console level. Consider them system display options, not proof of a GTA 6 enemy-visibility or reticle-color setting. If you use a filter, verify the result in the game and check that the interface remains legible. A filter that changes the overall image may not help distinguish the specific targets or interface elements that matter to you.
For either platform, the no-purchase starting point is the controller you already own and the remapping features available through the console or Xbox Accessories. An optional premium controller may offer more customization, but it is not a requirement for basic button remapping. The DualSense Edge supports remappable controls, back buttons, and custom profiles, as well as stick sensitivity and deadzone adjustments. A back button might be convenient for an action if GTA 6 permits a suitable assignment. These are questions to check, not a claim that every listed option will be present. If a setting is absent, do not substitute a console feature or an assumed control and describe it as a GTA 6 option.

Also check whether an adjustment applies while aiming, while moving the camera normally, or in both situations. Is there a physical GTA 6 edition for PS5 or Xbox?
For players checking purchase options, Rockstar says the physical Standard Edition box contains a download code, not a disc. The release date and announced console platforms provide a useful boundary for preparation, not a basis for claiming a tested GTA 6 setup. Final menu names and defaults, whether a quick-switch command exists, and any measured best values remain unresolved before launch. No. Microsoft says Xbox Accessories configures button layouts on standard Xbox Wireless controllers as well as Elite Series 2. PS5 also offers custom button assignments for the standard DualSense. Premium controllers are optional.
