The safest way to secure an upcoming LEGO set is to track its listing in LEGO’s Coming Soon catalog, check the exact product page for a preorder or release status, and sign in to LEGO Insiders before launch. LEGO usually does not offer preorders for every new set, so availability is set-specific. If you use Amazon, verify the exact set number, seller, fulfillment method, release date, and cancellation and shipping terms before placing the order.
What “pre-order” means for LEGO sets
A LEGO announcement does not automatically create a reservation opportunity. LEGO’s help guidance says it usually does not accept pre-orders on new sets, and an announced product may not appear on LEGO.com until it is available to buy. Some launches do have a defined preorder window, while others show only a “Coming soon” notice or go directly on sale.
That makes the product page, rather than a rumor, retailer countdown, or social-media post, the deciding source. A set can be announced months in advance but still have no order button. Conversely, a dated announcement can identify a short preorder period before general release. Treat each set as its own launch with its own rules.

Ordering as soon as a legitimate listing opens improves your chance of getting stock during the first release wave, but it cannot guarantee availability. Inventory can be limited, listings can change, and a retailer can revise delivery estimates. A preorder is an opportunity to reserve a unit under stated terms, not a promise that every order will ship on the original date.

Use LEGO’s Coming Soon catalog first
Start with LEGO’s Coming Soon catalog to identify upcoming products. Record the complete set number as well as the name. Set numbers are more reliable than shortened names because holiday and licensed themes can have similar titles, and retailer listings may use different wording.
- Open the Coming Soon catalog and locate the set.
- Copy the set name and number into your notes or calendar.
- Open the exact product page rather than relying on a category tile or search snippet.
- Read the availability wording. It may say “preorder,” “coming soon,” or “available to buy.”
- Check the displayed date and any account requirement before leaving the page.
A “Coming soon” label is not the same as a confirmed preorder. If there is no preorder control, there may be nothing to reserve through LEGO yet. Check again as the launch approaches because a future product can remain absent from LEGO.com until it is ready for purchase.
What to record from the product page
- The exact set number and full product name.
- The stated preorder or release date and whether the date is for Insiders or everyone.
- Whether you must sign in to purchase during an early-access period.
- Any quantity limit, regional restriction, or delivery information shown at checkout.
- The price displayed for your country and the payment and shipping options offered.
LEGO Insiders early access
LEGO Insiders members receive early access to selected new sets. It is not a blanket preorder privilege: LEGO decides which launches receive an Insiders window. Create an account before launch and stay signed in so you can act if the product page requires membership.
Membership is available online, by phone, or in LEGO Stores. After joining, confirm that your account works on the device you will use at launch. Signing in ahead of time avoids losing time to password recovery or account verification when stock becomes available.
How an early-access window works
An early-access product may appear as “Coming soon” before the member window begins. When the window opens, the page can require an Insiders login to purchase. General shoppers may see the same set only after the member period ends. The exact dates are set-by-set, so do not infer a universal number of hours or days from another launch.

Put the announced time in a calendar, convert it to your local time, and open the product page a few minutes beforehand. Keep your account signed in, but refresh normally rather than sending repeated requests that could trigger a security check or temporarily block the session.
A dated example: LEGO’s 2026 holiday launches
A September 15, 2026 holiday announcement illustrates why each product needs its own schedule. It said three sets were available for preorder from September 1, 2026, with general availability from October 1, 2026. The same announcement gave LEGO Icons Holiday House 11387 a member-first release rather than the same preorder arrangement.

| LEGO Icons Holiday House 11387 | 1,354 | Insiders access from October 1, 2026 | Everyone from October 4, 2026 |
These dates apply only to the named sets in that announcement. They demonstrate two different patterns: a preorder date before a later general release, and an Insiders-first release followed by public access. They should not be treated as a standing LEGO calendar.
Step-by-step plan for securing a set
1. Identify the official listing
Use the Coming Soon catalog and open the matching product page. Confirm that the set number on the page matches your notes. If several products have similar names, the number is the decisive check.
2. Determine which access type applies
Read the availability statement carefully. “Preorder” means an order can be placed under the terms shown. “Coming soon” means the product is announced but not necessarily orderable. “Available to buy” means the normal purchase flow is open. Note whether the page says Insiders must sign in.

Save the announced date and time, including the time zone. Use a second reminder shortly before the window. For a set with a preorder date, the reminder should point to the product page, not merely to a general LEGO homepage.
5. Place the order when the legitimate listing opens
Check the set number and quantity in the cart, review the price and delivery estimate, and complete checkout. Save the order confirmation. If the page still says “Coming soon,” the order window has not opened or the date is different for your region.
6. Monitor the order without duplicating it
Keep the confirmation email and order number. Check the order-status page if the release date changes. Avoid placing multiple orders simply because a confirmation email is delayed; first verify whether the original order succeeded.
Can you pre-order LEGO sets on Amazon?
Amazon may show preorder listings for some LEGO sets, but its catalog is separate from LEGO’s. Search the exact set name together with the set number. Before checkout, inspect the live listing rather than relying on a search result or an old screenshot.

- Search for the exact product name and set number.
- Open the listing and confirm that the title, images, and number identify the intended set.
- Check the seller’s name and whether Amazon or that seller fulfills the order.
- Verify the stated release date and that the page explicitly identifies the item as a preorder.
- Read the current price, cancellation policy, payment timing, and shipping terms.
- Review the delivery estimate again on the final checkout screen.
- Save the confirmation and revisit the order if the release date or seller information changes.
Amazon inventory, sellers, prices, and delivery estimates can change. A third-party seller may have different cancellation or fulfillment terms from an Amazon-fulfilled listing. If the listing does not clearly identify the set number or preorder status, do not assume it is the official upcoming product.
LEGO.com and Amazon: which route fits your plan?
| Consideration | LEGO.com | Amazon |
|---|---|---|
| Release timing | Uses the availability shown on LEGO’s product page; many new sets have no LEGO preorder. | Timing is controlled by the individual listing and can differ between sellers. |
| Early access | Selected sets can be available to signed-in LEGO Insiders before everyone else. | Access depends on whether a listing is live; an Amazon listing does not create LEGO Insiders access. |
| Seller and fulfillment | Purchased through LEGO’s own storefront. | Check the named seller and whether Amazon or that seller fulfills the order. |
| Price and delivery | Review the price and shipping choices displayed for your region at checkout. | Prices, inventory, and delivery estimates can change on the live listing. |
| Cancellation terms | Follow the terms shown in LEGO checkout and your order confirmation. | Read the listing’s current cancellation, payment, and shipping terms before ordering. |
Use LEGO.com when the official page offers the access you need, especially an Insiders-only window. Consider Amazon only after confirming that the listing is genuine and its terms suit you. You can monitor both, but compare the exact conditions instead of assuming one retailer’s date or price applies to the other.
Preordering versus waiting for launch day
A preorder can give you an earlier reservation opportunity, which is valuable for a set expected to attract heavy demand. The trade-off is that the final delivery date, inventory allocation, or retailer terms can change. Waiting until launch day lets you see current stock and sometimes later promotions, but popular sets may sell through before you order.
- Choose a preorder when securing a first-release unit matters more than waiting for a possible later deal, and the listing has clear terms.
- Wait for launch day when you want to compare live prices, promotions, or shipping options and can tolerate the possibility of temporary sell-out.
- Use a two-source watch when the official page has no preorder: track the LEGO product page and a verified retailer listing, while treating each date independently.
Neither choice guarantees stock. A retailer can cancel or delay an order, and a launch-day page can sell out quickly. Make the decision based on your tolerance for uncertainty and the set’s stated availability, not on a general belief that every LEGO release follows the same pattern.
Common failure points and fixes
The set is announced but cannot be ordered
This is normal for a future product. LEGO may not display the full product page until the set is available to buy, and “Coming soon” does not promise a preorder. Record the set number and check the official page again near the announced date.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The Insiders window is visible but checkout is blocked
Confirm that you are signed in to the correct account. If the page still requires membership, sign out and back in, then reopen the product page. Avoid creating a second account because it can split order history and saved details.
The retailer listing has the wrong product
Compare the set number, name, images, piece count, and release date. Similar names are not enough. If the number does not match, leave the listing and search again.
The release date changes after ordering
Check the order-status page and the latest message from the retailer. Keep the order if the revised date still works for you; otherwise use the stated cancellation process. Do not rely on an old delivery estimate saved in a screenshot.

Prompt ordering improves your odds but cannot guarantee stock. Recheck the official page and any legitimate retailer listing for a later availability update. Do not pay an unverified seller simply because a product is scarce.
Launch-day checklist
- Set number copied from the official Coming Soon or product page.
- LEGO Insiders account created and signed in if an early-access window may apply.
- Launch date and local time saved in your calendar.
- Delivery address and payment details ready.
- For Amazon, seller, fulfillment, preorder label, release date, price, and cancellation terms checked.
- Order confirmation saved after checkout.
What to remember
LEGO’s preorder availability is set-specific, not universal. The Coming Soon catalog identifies upcoming products, but the exact product page determines whether you can preorder, must wait for a release, or need to sign in as an Insiders member. The 2026 holiday example shows why you must read each announcement: three sets had a September 1 preorder date and October 1 general availability, while Holiday House 11387 opened to Insiders on October 1 and everyone else on October 4. For Amazon orders, verify the live listing’s set number, seller, fulfillment, release date, price, and terms immediately before checkout.
Quick Recap
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
