How to check for a pre-order on an Xbox console
Use these steps on an Xbox console connected to the account you intend to use for the game:
- Open Microsoft Store from the Xbox Home screen.
- Use Search and enter The End of the Sun. Select the result that identifies Xbox Series X|S support.
- Open the product page and read the Details section. Look for the release date, an explicit pre-order status, and the purchase terms.
- Check the primary action button. A button that says Pre-order indicates a paid order flow; a button that only offers Wishlist does not.
- If you decide to buy, review the displayed currency, price, release date, and any refund or cancellation language before confirming payment.
- After checkout, open your Microsoft account order history to verify that the transaction is recorded. A wishlist entry by itself will not appear as a purchase.

The same information can be checked without sitting at the console. Sign in to the Xbox or Microsoft Store app, search for the exact title, and open its product page. On the web, use the official Xbox Store listing associated with your region and account. Read Details rather than relying only on a search-result badge.
Store labels can differ by country, currency, and account status. If you see a pre-order button on one device but not another, confirm that both are signed in to the same Microsoft account and are set to the same region. A temporary cache or a staged storefront update can also make controls appear at different times; reopening the listing later is safer than assuming that an unavailable button represents a purchase failure.

How to add The End of the Sun to your Xbox Wishlist
- Open the official Xbox Store listing for the game.
- Select the Wishlist or heart control. If the control says that the item is already wishlisted, no further action is needed.
- Verify that you are signed in to the Microsoft account whose notifications and library you use.
- Return to the Wishlist later to see whether the listing has gained a purchase, pre-install, or price-change option.
The developer’s current call to action is “Add The End of the Sun to your Xbox Wishlist.” That is the appropriate action while paid pre-order availability remains unconfirmed.
What is known about Xbox preload timing
No official source currently publishes a preload start date, an install size, or confirmed preload eligibility for this title. You therefore cannot schedule a guaranteed early download yet.
When a game supports preloading, the Store or Xbox app usually exposes an Install, Pre-install, or similarly named control after the account has the necessary entitlement. Do not delete an installed pre-release build simply because it cannot be started before release. Xbox may keep an installed title locked until the configured release or unlock time.

The confirmed date is November 4, 2026. An exact clock time has not been announced for this Xbox release, so no reliable answer can yet be given for “what time does it unlock?” in a particular country.

Microsoft publishing documentation distinguishes the configured Release date from a separate pre-order unlock date. The release date is when the product can be purchased and played unless the publisher has configured another pre-order unlock date. The live Store page is therefore the authority for the time and date shown to your account. Check it again as launch approaches, including after any announcement that changes the listing.

Do not convert the date to a single worldwide midnight without evidence. Xbox storefronts operate by region, and a publisher can use a coordinated global time, a local-time rollout, or a separately configured unlock. The listing’s displayed date and time, rather than a countdown on an unrelated site, should determine when you attempt to play.
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S support
The Xbox Store identifies The End of the Sun as optimized for Xbox Series X|S. That label covers both current-generation Xbox consoles, so the announced Xbox version is intended for Series X and Series S rather than an Xbox One installation.
The listing also identifies Xbox achievements, Xbox presence, and Xbox cloud saves. Cloud saves allow supported progress to follow your Microsoft account between compatible consoles, but they do not change the release lock or create a pre-order entitlement. Achievements and presence are platform features shown on the listing, not separate downloadable products.
The game is described as a first-person mystery and exploration adventure in a Slavic fantasy world. Its premise involves investigating a distorted village, using abilities connected with time and fire, moving through four seasons separated by years, and exploring environments recreated with photogrammetry. Those details describe the Xbox product listed in the Store; they do not imply that a preload or a specific performance mode has been announced.

The developer has announced a 20% launch discount for the first week after release. The announcement does not say that the discount applies to every territory, whether it is automatically applied at checkout, or whether it can be combined with another Xbox promotion. Check the price displayed by your regional Store before purchasing. A pre-order price, if one is later introduced, should be compared with the first-week price rather than assumed to be lower.
Are there multiple Xbox editions?
The currently documented Xbox information does not list Standard, Deluxe, Ultimate, physical, or bonus-content editions. It presents the game as a digital Xbox title. If the Store later adds more than one purchase option, compare the entries on four specific points:
- Edition and content: identify exactly which game, add-on, soundtrack, or bonus items are included.
- Regional price: compare the currency and amount shown for your account, not a screenshot from another country.
- Unlock timing: check whether any edition has a separate pre-order unlock date.
- Install or preload availability: verify that the edition you buy exposes an install action and targets Xbox Series X|S.
Do not assume that a higher-priced entry exists or that a physical disc version will be offered; neither is documented in the current Xbox information.

The page says “Wishlist” but I want to buy now
That status means the listing has not exposed a paid pre-order control to your storefront, or the publisher has not opened pre-orders. Keep the title wishlisted and recheck the official Store page. There is no legitimate checkout step to force an unannounced pre-order.

Read the Details area and the button label carefully. Some Store pages show an indicative price or a future product page before sales open. Only a completed Microsoft Store checkout and an order record establish that you purchased the game.

The game is on my Wishlist but I cannot install it
Wishlist status does not grant an install entitlement. An install or pre-install control must be exposed by the Store, and your account must have the required purchase or access. Until then, the missing control is expected rather than evidence of a console fault.
The release date differs between devices
Confirm the Microsoft account, country or region, and currency on each device. Then reopen the listing and read Details. If the discrepancy remains, rely on the date shown for the account and Store region that will be used to play, and check again near launch for an updated publisher configuration.
The download starts but the game remains locked
An installed package can remain unavailable until the configured release or unlock time. Leave the installation in place, allow updates to complete, and retry after the Store’s displayed release time. Reinstalling cannot bypass a server-side release lock.
Practical checklist for launch week
- Now: open the official Xbox Store listing, confirm that it is the Series X|S product, and add it to your Wishlist.
- Before November 4: read Details for any newly published pre-order status, price, release time, or install control.
- If pre-ordering opens: compare the displayed purchase price and terms with the announced first-week discount, then verify the order in Microsoft account history.
- If preloading opens: start the installation from the Store or Xbox app, confirm the download queue, and check available console storage.
- On release day: use the Store’s displayed regional unlock time. If the game is installed but locked, wait until that time and check for an update.
