Short answer: there is no officially documented, released Sunrise module that reproduces the complete Wrath of the Machine raid. Sunrise is a community-built, open-source preservation tool that runs an old Destiny 2 build locally, but its official homepage and repository currently describe destinations, scripted missions, exploration and persistent saves—not a released Wrath of the Machine raid.
You can install Sunrise and test the activities it documents, provided you supply your own legitimate Destiny 2 files. Do not buy a Destiny 1 disc or download a package advertised as a guaranteed Wrath installer: neither is identified as a Sunrise requirement, and a dedicated raid module remains unconfirmed.

Sunrise is the only source-backed route connected with a fan-made, offline Destiny 2 experience. Its project description says it installs onto an old Destiny 2 build so the game can run without a server. What Sunrise actually is
Sunrise is a local preservation and modding project built around an older Destiny 2 build. The game is launched on the player’s machine rather than connecting to Bungie’s live services. The project is open source and work in progress; the player brings the original files.

Those numbers indicate a substantial community interest, not a promise that every Destiny 2 activity works. Sunrise’s own materials identify the project as unfinished. They describe supported destinations, scripted missions, exploration and persistent saves while also noting incomplete matchmaking, multiplayer, full progression and many missions.
Is a complete fan-made Wrath raid available?
It is not confirmed by the project’s official pages. The Sunrise homepage and repository discuss the platform and planned modding support, but they do not list Wrath of the Machine as a released module. No official page reviewed for this guide names a working sequence of the raid’s encounters, a supported player count or a downloadable Wrath package.

Wrath of the Machine itself is a Destiny raid from the 2016 era. Bungie’s November 14, 2016 “Raid” Along announcement introduced the activity with the line, “This time, we’ll confront the SIVA elite.” That historical identity does not mean the original raid files can be dropped into Destiny 2 or that Sunrise automatically contains them.
Use this rule when evaluating a claim:
- Confirmed: a current Sunrise release note or project page names a Wrath of the Machine mission or module and explains how to enable it.
- Not confirmed: a thumbnail, fan video, forum comment or third-party download that does not point to such an official project statement.
- Not the same thing: a recreation, concept video or ordinary raid guide may show what the raid looked like, but it does not make the activity playable in Sunrise.
What you need before installing
- A legitimate copy of the Destiny 2 files that matches the older build documented by the Sunrise release you intend to use.
- Enough storage for that game installation and the Sunrise files. The project pages do not publish a universal storage figure, so check the release’s current instructions rather than relying on a generic estimate.
- The Sunrise installation guide from the project’s official site. Its download names, directory layout and supported build can change between releases.
- A willingness to test an unfinished offline project. Server matchmaking, multiplayer, complete progression and numerous missions are not presented as fully supported.
You do not need an original Destiny 1 disc as an installer for Sunrise. Destiny 1 media is the source-era game for the 2016 raid; Sunrise is built around an older Destiny 2 installation. Owning the former does not supply the latter’s files or create a Destiny 2 raid module.

The exact buttons and package names may change, so follow the current official install guide rather than an archived video. The reliable sequence is:

- Start at the Sunrise project homepage. Open its current installation guide and read the listed Destiny 2 build, operating requirements and release notes before downloading anything.
- Prepare your own game files. Retain a legitimate copy of the Destiny 2 build specified by the guide. Sunrise does not provide game data, and substituting a different build can prevent a launch or produce missing-content errors.
- Download the matching Sunrise release. The homepage currently identifies version 0.5.1 as its latest release, but verify the label again when you install because the project is actively changing.
- Follow the guide’s folder and launcher steps exactly. Keep the Sunrise files separate from the live Destiny 2 installation unless the guide specifically instructs otherwise. Do not overwrite an active game directory based on instructions from an unofficial mirror.
- Launch locally and complete the first test. Select one of the destinations or scripted missions named in the release notes. Confirm that the program can load an area, save progress and return to the local launcher before attempting experimental content.
- Record what works. Note the release number, game build, destination and mission used. This makes it easier to distinguish a content limitation from a mismatched installation if you need help.
- Check for an explicit Wrath entry. After installation, read the latest Sunrise updates again. Only proceed as if the raid exists when an official update names the module and gives activation instructions. A general-purpose offline launch is not evidence that the raid is present.

A destination loading proves only that that destination is implemented. Raid encounters depend on additional scripts, triggers, enemy behavior, checkpoints, rewards and (for the original design) a team of players. Sunrise’s documented preservation features should therefore be evaluated separately from raid completeness.

- Look for the project name, release number and publication date on an official Sunrise page or repository entry.
- Search that entry for “Wrath of the Machine” or a clearly named raid module, not merely “modding support” or “more missions.”
- Confirm that the entry states what is implemented: encounters, loading route, player count, saves and known limitations.
- Check whether the module requires a particular old Destiny 2 build and whether that build is the one you installed.
- Compare the announcement with the launch behavior. If the package opens a destination but contains no raid mission or encounter triggers, it is not a complete Wrath implementation.
Release information can change after an article is published. The current project status should always take precedence over an older guide, video or screenshot.
Destiny 1 media versus Destiny 2 files
Wrath of the Machine originated in Destiny, associated with the Rise of Iron era in 2016. That history explains why some guides point readers toward Destiny 1 footage or physical media. It does not make a Destiny 1 disc a Sunrise dependency.

Troubleshooting the common failure points
The launcher will not start
Recheck that your Destiny 2 files match the build named in the Sunrise guide and that the folder paths follow the current instructions. A newer live-game installation is not automatically compatible with an old-build preservation tool. If the release notes list a required dependency or launcher update, apply that requirement before trying a different package.
A destination loads but a mission is missing
This usually indicates a content boundary rather than a bad installation: Sunrise documents only selected scripted missions, and many missions remain incomplete. Check the release’s supported-content list before reinstalling.

Progress does not look like live Destiny 2
That is expected for a local preservation project. Full progression is identified as incomplete, and local saves are not the same as Bungie account progression, seasonal rewards or live-service milestones.

You cannot find matchmaking or other players
Do not assume that a network problem is blocking the raid. The repository identifies matchmaking and multiplayer as incomplete or unsupported. A successful offline launch does not establish cooperative raid support.
A download claims to add Wrath but has no official release entry
Do not run it merely because the filename includes “Wrath.” The official pages do not currently document a released module, so the claim cannot be verified against Sunrise’s supported feature set. Prefer the project’s own release channels and keep your legitimate game files untouched.
Safety, ownership and project boundaries
Sunrise states that it is open source, contains no game data and is not affiliated with Bungie or Sony. Those statements define the practical boundary: you provide the files, install the tool locally and accept that it is an unfinished community project. Avoid installers that bundle copyrighted game data, demand a paid “raid unlock” or promise access to Bungie’s servers.
