To play The Jackbox Party Pack 12 online with friends, one person hosts the game and shares its screen; everyone else joins at jackbox.tv using the room code on an internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer. Jackbox scheduled Pack 12 to launch on October 15, 2026, so as of October 3, 2026, it was not yet released.
What you need for remote play
- The host: A copy of the game installed on a supported platform, plus a way to show the game screen to the group.
- Each player: An internet-connected device with a browser to enter the room code at jackbox.tv.
- The group: A call with screen sharing or another way for remote players to see the host’s game screen. Jackbox gives Discord and Zoom as examples, but does not rank services or compare their delay, privacy settings, or compatibility.
Only the host needs to own and launch the game. Players use their own devices as controllers; Jackbox says its games are not mobile apps and do not require a mobile app to play. Remote play is a private group arrangement, not online matchmaking: friends connect to the host’s room using the code the host shares.
How to play Pack 12 online, step by step
- Have the host install and launch the game. Start a game from the host platform. Jackbox announced Pack 12 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad, and the Mac App Store. Check the official listing for current availability before buying.
- Start a call or set up another viewing method. Use a voice or video call with screen sharing, or a stream or other setup that lets everyone see the host’s game screen. Friends need to see the prompts and results while playing.
- Share the room code. The host’s game screen displays the code. Each player opens jackbox.tv in a browser, enters the code, and chooses a name.
- Begin once the players have joined. The host starts or continues the game from the host screen while players submit their answers or choices from their devices.
Can friends in different countries play?
Yes. Jackbox says remote players can join from different countries if they have an internet-connected device to enter the room code and a way to see the host’s game screen. The setup still depends on the host sharing the game screen with the group.
Pack 12 release date, price, and player limits
Jackbox Games’ October 1, 2026 announcement scheduled The Jackbox Party Pack 12 for October 15, 2026 and stated a price of $29.99. That was the announced price at the time, not a guarantee of the current price or a verified retail offer. The announcement listed PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad, and the Mac App Store as release platforms.

Pack 12’s player counts and audience limits were not established in the sources available as of October 3, 2026. Jackbox says limits vary by game and that most games support audience participation; those are general statements, not confirmed Pack 12-specific numbers. Check the official Pack 12 listing for the limits of the game you want to play.
