During a Clash Royale battle, tap the Emote icon, then tap the Mute icon. To hear or see emote communication again, open the same menu and tap the mute control once more.
Mute emotes during a battle
The mute command is built into the battle interface. You do not need to leave the match, open your phone’s settings, connect an accessory, or change your Emote Deck.
- Start or join a battle. The control is available from the battle screen.
- Tap the Emote icon. It is the speech-bubble-style communication button used for emotes.
- Tap the Mute icon. This is the documented Supercell Support sequence: Emote icon → Mute icon.
Once the mute control is active, emote communication is suppressed for the current in-battle state. The exact artwork or position can change after a game update, so use the label or icon shown in your current menu.

- While you are still in a battle, tap the Emote or communication icon.
- Tap the mute control again to reactivate emotes.
A current walkthrough from Dot Esports describes this as tapping the mute/unmute control again. If the button’s artwork has changed, look for the control in the communication menu instead of relying on its old appearance.

Supercell describes emotes as communication used with friends or opponents during Battles. The Emote button opens that communication area; it is separate from your phone’s volume, notification, and audio controls.

The extra-emote arrow
The battle Emote menu can show additional emotes through a white arrow. That arrow expands the available emote choices; it is not the mute command. If you are looking for mute, stay in the communication menu and identify the mute icon or its current label.

The Emote Deck
Your Emote Deck is managed from the Collection area. Changing the deck controls which emotes you can select, whereas the Mute control changes emote communication during a battle. You do not have to edit the deck to mute another player’s emotes.

Important limits of the setting
It is an in-battle control
The documented procedure works from the battle interface. It is not a general Clash Royale preference that you change from the home screen, and it does not require a controller, keyboard, headset, or other physical product.
Automatic carry-over is not established
Supercell’s support instructions explain how to mute emotes during a battle but do not state whether the mute state automatically persists into later battles. Check the communication menu at the start of a new match if you need emotes muted there as well.

Game updates can move the icon
The icon artwork and exact placement may change with a Clash Royale update. If the button no longer looks like an older screenshot, open the current Emote or speech-bubble communication menu and follow the visible mute label or icon.
Troubleshooting the mute command
You cannot find Mute
Confirm that you are in an active battle rather than browsing the Collection or another home-screen area. Then tap the battle’s Emote or communication icon. The white arrow reveals more emotes, but the mute control is part of the same communication area.

You changed the Emote Deck but emotes still appear
Deck editing and muting are different actions. Return to the battle communication menu and use the Mute icon; removing an emote from your deck does not perform the documented mute command.
You want emotes back
Open the communication menu again and tap the same mute control. The control is described as a mute/unmute switch, so a second tap reactivates emotes.
