You can’t move a OneStream Live loop into Restream with a documented one-click import. Rebuild the broadcast in Restream using the original video or playlist, then connect it to a new or existing YouTube event. Before switching, confirm that Restream supports the repeat behavior and duration you need: its documented event workflow offers video-file and playlist streams, but does not establish an equivalent to OneStream’s loop limit or YouTube-only 24/7 mode.
What moves—and what you need to rebuild
Treat this as a workflow change, not a transfer. The video file and YouTube event are separate from the service-side broadcast configuration. Keep access to your source video and note the event details; the reviewed instructions do not describe an importer that transfers a OneStream loop into Restream.
OneStream Live’s Help Center says a pre-recorded video can be looped up to 60 times in its standard loop workflow. Its separate overview describes a YouTube-only 24/7 streaming mode. The 60-repeat figure is from the Help Center article last updated September 21, 2026; availability and duration for the 24/7 mode may depend on the account plan, so check your current account. Before you switch, record the current setup
Write down the information needed to recreate the broadcast and decide whether keeping the existing YouTube event matters for your viewers.

- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
- Event details: YouTube channel, event title and description, privacy setting, scheduled start, and any other metadata you want to retain.
- Content: the original video file or playlist, where it is stored, and the intended repeat count or continuous-stream duration.
- Live behavior: whether the existing event has YouTube auto-start and auto-stop enabled. Those settings affect whether you must manually start or end the broadcast.
YouTube manages event settings and stream credentials in Live Control Room; a stream key is not a loop configuration to transfer between services. See YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings. OneStream’s setup article also describes choosing uploaded or stored video, destinations, stream details, and a schedule: How to Start Your First Stream on OneStream Live?
Rebuild the broadcast in Restream
- Choose the YouTube event. In Restream, connect the YouTube channel and select an existing event if you want to use it and it is available to select. Otherwise, create a new event. Restream documents both its event-creation flow and connecting to an existing YouTube event: Create a YouTube Live Event with Restream and Stream to an existing YouTube Event.
- Create the replacement stream. Restream’s documented event workflow starts at New Stream and offers Studio, RTMP, Video File, or Playlist. Choose a video-file or playlist workflow for pre-recorded content, then enter the event details and schedule it as needed. The available choices and interface can vary by account; follow the current prompts in your Restream dashboard.
- Verify repeats and duration before relying on it. Do not assume that selecting a file or playlist makes it loop continuously, or that it matches OneStream’s repeat count or 24/7 mode. Confirm the repeat behavior and maximum duration in your Restream account and help documentation. The cited Restream event instructions do not establish those limits.
- Check YouTube automation. If auto-start is disabled for the event, start the stream from Restream and then click Go Live on YouTube. If auto-stop is disabled, stop the stream in Restream and then click End Live on YouTube. Check the current event’s settings rather than assuming they carry over to a replacement event.
- Validate before retiring the old setup. Confirm the selected YouTube channel and event, visibility and schedule, correct video or playlist, audio and picture, and expected end or repeat behavior. Check the YouTube preview and event status before treating the replacement as ready.
Keep or replace the existing YouTube event?
Connecting Restream to an existing event can preserve the event URL, which may be useful if it has already been shared. Creating a new event gives you a separate event setup. Either way, verify the title, description, privacy, schedule, and auto-start/auto-stop behavior in YouTube; the documented Restream connection workflow does not mean that OneStream’s broadcast settings are copied over.

If viewers already have the old event link, decide how you will direct them to the correct event if you create a new one. Do not announce that a loop has moved until you have confirmed that the new stream behaves as intended.
Copyright and YouTube checks
Changing streaming services does not change your rights to the video or YouTube’s live-stream settings. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for the recording and any music or other material it contains, and review the privacy, schedule, and stream settings in YouTube Live Control Room before going live. The migration instructions establish the service workflow, not that a particular video is cleared for broadcast.
