It depends on what you mean by a “YouTube Live playlist.” To move viewers somewhere when your broadcast ends, use YouTube Live Redirect. To play clips one after another inside one continuing broadcast, use the VLC Video Source playlist in OBS. If you are watching a regular YouTube playlist, turn on the player’s Autoplay setting instead; that setting does not redirect everyone when a live stream ends.
Choose the right kind of automatic playback

Send viewers to a Premiere or live stream after your broadcast
YouTube Live Redirect is the relevant feature if you want viewers to continue somewhere after your live stream ends. YouTube describes the transition this way: “Once your live stream ends, autoplay will move your viewers to the Premiere or live stream of your choice.” See YouTube’s Live Redirect instructions for the current setup steps.
Check eligibility and destination permission
- The channel sending viewers must have more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes.
- If the destination is another channel’s live stream, that channel must grant permission.
- The documented destinations are a Premiere or a live stream; this is a post-broadcast handoff, not a playlist of clips playing within your outgoing broadcast.
Play the next video in a regular YouTube playlist
If you mean a playlist you are watching, enable Autoplay in the YouTube player. On desktop, use the Autoplay switch at the bottom of the player. YouTube notes that controls and behavior can differ across devices, and autoplay may stop in some circumstances, including account or inactivity-related cases. Consult YouTube Help’s Autoplay instructions for device-specific details.
This is a viewer-side setting. Turning it on does not configure what happens to all viewers when a creator ends a live broadcast; use Live Redirect for that.

Play multiple videos one after another in an OBS live stream
For a sequence of media files inside one continuing YouTube broadcast, add OBS’s VLC Video Source and build its playlist. OBS documents support for multiple media items and playlist loop and shuffle options. VLC must be installed for this source to work.
- Install VLC on the computer running OBS.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video Source to the scene you use for the broadcast.
- Add the media files to the source’s playlist in the order you want them to play.
- For a one-time sequential run, leave playlist loop and shuffle off. Enable loop only if you want the sequence to start again after the final item; use shuffle only if you do not need the listed order.
- Check the scene and audio in OBS before going live, then start the broadcast. The playlist is part of your production setup; it is not a YouTube Live Redirect.
OBS also documents a separate Media Source for an individual media file; for a multi-item playlist, use VLC Video Source. See OBS’s Media Sources documentation.

Autoplay in an embedded player is a different setting
The YouTube embedded-player parameter autoplay concerns starting playback when the player loads. It is not documented as a way to redirect viewers at the end of a live stream. Player parameters such as autoplay or loop therefore do not replace Live Redirect or an OBS media playlist. See Google’s embedded player documentation.
