What’s actually slowing this PC down?

To stream recorded Elden Ring boss fights continuously, create an encoder stream in YouTube Live Control Room, then use an encoder that can play your VODs in sequence and loop them. YouTube provides the stream URL and key; the encoder supplies the video. Test the complete playback and recovery workflow before relying on it, and keep broadcasts under 12 hours if YouTube archiving matters.
What you need
- Recorded Elden Ring boss-fight videos that you have the right to stream.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- An encoder that can use your video files as a source, play them in sequence, and repeat the playlist. The exact controls vary by encoder; the YouTube help pages describe the connection to YouTube, not app-specific looping instructions.
- A reliable internet connection and, if you want a separate backup, local storage for a recording of the broadcast.
Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and start an encoder stream. Go to YouTube Studio, select Go Live, and choose the encoder workflow. Follow the prompts to configure the stream. YouTube’s instructions are at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder. Enter both in the encoder’s YouTube connection settings. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream. You can review stream settings in Manage live stream settings.
- Set the video source to your VOD playlist. In the encoder, add the recorded boss-fight videos in the order you want them to play, then enable playlist repeat or the equivalent loop setting. Verify that the last video returns to the first. These controls are encoder-specific, so consult the documentation for the software you choose rather than assuming YouTube has a looping switch.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder feed and check the Live Control Room preview for video, game audio, and transitions between clips. YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and movement, then monitoring stream health during the broadcast. See YouTube live streaming tips.
- Start the broadcast and watch for problems. Confirm that the live preview is correct before making the stream public or sharing it. Keep an eye on the Live Control Room health indicators and confirm that the encoder continues through a full playlist cycle.
Choose settings and viewer controls
Video and audio
Use output settings your encoder and connection can sustain, and check that game audio is present without clipping or unintended silence. The supplied YouTube guidance does not establish one resolution or bitrate specifically for Elden Ring VOD loops; choose settings for your source and verify the resulting stream in preview rather than treating a generic number as a game-specific requirement.
Keyframes
YouTube recommends a 2-second keyframe interval for live encoder settings and says not to exceed 4 seconds. These are platform recommendations, not Elden Ring-specific requirements. See Choose live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.
DVR
Enable DVR in stream settings if you want viewers to pause or rewind while the broadcast is live. DVR affects what viewers can do with the live playback; it does not make the encoder repeat your source videos. YouTube says rewind capability may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. Details: Turn on DVR on live streams.

Keep the stream running without risking the archive
A looping source can keep feeding a live broadcast, but continuous runtime and archive reliability are separate concerns. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving each YouTube VOD is important, end the broadcast before it reaches 12 hours and start a new session, allowing time for the transition. After ending, verify that the archive is available. YouTube’s guidance is in Archive live streams.
Also make a local recording if you need a backup. YouTube recommends checking that the local archive is actually being written while the stream is running; don’t wait until the broadcast ends to discover there is no backup. The same advice appears in YouTube live streaming tips.

Copyright and channel considerations
Only stream Elden Ring footage and audio you have permission to use. Having a recording does not by itself establish that every included element—such as music, overlays, or other players’ content—is cleared for livestreaming. Review YouTube’s applicable copyright rules and your own channel’s obligations before broadcasting. This workflow explains how to send a feed; it does not guarantee that a stream will be eligible for monetization or remain available if YouTube identifies a policy issue.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| No preview or the encoder will not connect | Incorrect stream URL or key, or a connection problem. | Recheck the URL and key in YouTube Studio and the encoder. Keep the key private. Check the encoder’s connection status and Live Control Room preview. |
| The first clip plays, but the playlist stops | Looping is not enabled, or the encoder is not configured to repeat the playlist. | Test the playlist through its final clip and confirm it returns to the first. Find the relevant control in the selected encoder’s documentation; YouTube’s stream settings do not control source looping. |
| Viewers hear no game audio or audio changes unexpectedly | The selected source or audio routing may not include the intended track. | Listen to the Live Control Room preview and test every clip transition before the public broadcast. |
| The stream health indicator reports a problem | The encoder feed or connection may be unstable, or its output settings may not be working as intended. | Check encoder status, preview, and the recommended keyframe interval. Test representative footage and monitor health during the stream. |
| The live stream has no usable archive afterward | The session may have exceeded YouTube’s stated archive window, or archiving may otherwise not have completed. | Keep sessions under 12 hours if an automatic YouTube archive matters, verify the VOD after ending, and maintain a local recording backup. |
| Viewers cannot rewind the live broadcast | DVR may be disabled, or rewind may be limited on a very long stream. | Check the DVR setting in Live Control Room. DVR is a viewer playback option, not a fix for a stopped encoder playlist. |
