To loop a saree catalog on YouTube Live, add your prepared video or image sequence to an OBS scene, enable looping for the media, then connect OBS to a YouTube encoder stream in YouTube Studio. A loop repeats recorded catalog material; it does not show a live camera demonstration. You can add a camera source or switch to a separate camera scene when viewers want a live close-up.
Prepare the saree catalog
Use product photos and clips your shop owns or is licensed to display, including permission for supplier or manufacturer images. For each item, prepare a short, readable card with a SKU or item number, verified fabric or saree type, price, and ordering instructions. Keep the most useful details on screen long enough to read, and use the same item number when speaking so buyers can match a question to the product.
- Arrange files in the intended order. If you use filenames to organize a sequence, number them consistently.
- Do not imply a photo shows exact color or texture on every viewer’s display. Offer a close-up or live view when possible.
- Include a clear way to order in the stream description and, if useful, a pinned chat message. State stock and shipping details only when your shop can verify them.
- A catalog loop does not need a camera. A separate camera scene is useful for live fabric close-ups, color questions, or drape demonstrations.
Build the loop in OBS
Install OBS from the official OBS download page. Create a scene, then add the source that matches your catalog format. OBS’s documented Media Source, playlist, and layering controls are described in its Media Sources and Sources Guide.
Loop one prepared video
- In the Sources panel, select + and add Media Source.
- Choose the local video file.
- Enable Loop in the Media Source properties. OBS restarts the file after playback completes.
Loop several video cards
- Install VLC before using the OBS VLC Video source. OBS requires VLC; 64-bit OBS requires a matching 64-bit VLC installation.
- Add VLC Video to the scene and populate its playlist with the catalog clips.
- Leave shuffle off if the item order matters, and enable Loop Playlist.
Show still photographs
Add an OBS image or slideshow source and set the image sequence and timing deliberately. You can layer text labels, a camera, and media in the same scene. Sources higher in OBS’s list appear above lower sources; position and resize them in the preview so labels do not cover the saree details.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
YouTube requires the channel to be verified and not subject to a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube’s current encoder setup is in the Live Control Room; follow its current guidance rather than relying on old tutorials for encoder values. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance can change, and the appropriate values depend on the event and source material.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream using the encoder setup option.
- Open the stream’s current setup details and enter the stream key in OBS’s stream settings. Treat the key as private; anyone with access may be able to send video to that stream.
- Start streaming from OBS. Check YouTube’s incoming preview and stream health before making the event public or announcing the catalog.
- Check the audio path. Test the microphone and monitoring if you will narrate; if the catalog should be silent, confirm the files do not contain unexpected audio.
YouTube’s interface and recommended encoder settings may change, so use the values shown for your current stream rather than copying a bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval from a dated guide.
Make the live catalog practical for buyers
- Keep an item number visible or repeat it on each card, then use that same number when discussing an item aloud.
- Make ordering instructions easy to find without obscuring product details.
- Switch to a separate live camera scene when a buyer needs a real-time view of fabric, color, or drape. A recorded loop cannot answer those questions by itself.
- Do not promise product tags or checkout availability until you have checked your channel, store connection, product feed, and viewer shipping destinations.
Can you tag sarees on YouTube Live in India?
Possibly, but being based in India does not by itself qualify a channel. YouTube allows eligible creators to tag featured products in live streams. Tagging your own sarees requires YouTube Shopping eligibility and a connected shop; tagging other brands is also subject to channel eligibility and YouTube’s tagging guidelines. Check the Shopping or Earn area of your own YouTube Studio and confirm that your store platform, product feed, stock, and shipping areas are supported. India is listed among countries for eligible creators in the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, but the list is not a guarantee that an individual channel qualifies. Affiliate eligibility is distinct from tagging your own products, which requires the relevant Shopping eligibility and connected shop. Check the current affiliate program overview and eligibility.

YouTube says creators must own and control the rights to content in a live stream or clear the necessary rights. That includes music. Use shop-owned product photography or obtain permission for supplier imagery, logos, and music; playing music quietly or embedding it in a video does not make it safe to stream. Review YouTube’s live product-tagging and content guidance before the event.
Troubleshoot common loop and stream problems
The video stops instead of restarting
Open the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. If you are using several clips, check the VLC playlist’s Loop Playlist setting instead.

The VLC Video source is missing or will not play
Install VLC and restart OBS. Confirm that VLC and OBS have matching architectures: 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
The catalog order changes unexpectedly
Turn off shuffle in the VLC playlist and review the playlist order. For image sequences, set the order explicitly in the slideshow source.

Labels cover the product
Move or resize the text source in the OBS preview. Check the source list order: sources higher in the list appear on top.

YouTube does not receive the stream
Check that OBS is using the current stream setup details from YouTube Studio, then review the YouTube incoming preview and stream health. Also confirm channel verification and that no live-stream restriction applies within the preceding 90 days.
Product tags do not appear
Check channel and Shopping eligibility, connected-shop status, product-feed details, shipping coverage, and whether the specific stream or content is eligible. YouTube does not guarantee tags will display in every circumstance.
Audio is unexpectedly audible or absent
Check whether the video files contain audio, confirm the OBS audio source and microphone settings, and monitor before going public. Use only audio you are authorized to stream.
