For one local clip, add it to an XSplit scene with Add Source > Video File, then open the source’s media properties and check its Playback controls. XSplit’s reviewed documentation does not name a loop switch for a single video file. If you need clearly documented continuous playback—especially for a sequence of clips—use a Video Playlist source and configure its available looping behavior in your installed version.
Choose the right source for your videos
| What you want to play | XSplit source | What the documentation establishes |
|---|---|---|
| One local clip | Video File | You can add a local video and access Playback controls in its media properties. The reviewed documentation does not identify a specific loop toggle for this source. (XSplit Support, “Image, Video, and Audio Source,” updated 2022-11-08) |
| Several clips played continuously | Video Playlist | XSplit describes continuous playback for Video Playlist sources, and its advanced tips discuss looping effects for playlist and slideshow sources. The source documentation does not give a complete setup walkthrough or enumerate every loop option. (XSplit Support, “Sources Menu – Introduction,” updated 2022-11-08; XSplit Support, “XSplit Broadcaster Advanced Tips,” updated 2022-09-02) |
“Regional-language” describes the content of your clip, not a special XSplit mode established by these sources. XSplit’s media-source guidance is generic; it does not verify automatic language-track selection, subtitle support, or a language-specific playback option. Check that the local file has the audio you intend to broadcast, then preview it in the scene.
Add and prepare a single video file
- Open the scene you want to use in XSplit Broadcaster.
- Select Add Source > Video File, browse to the video on your computer, and open it. XSplit’s media-source documentation covers adding local video sources.
- Right-click the video source in the scene and open its media properties. Use the available Playback controls to set playback behavior.
- Look in those controls for repeat behavior in your installed version. The reviewed XSplit documentation does not state the name or location of a single-file loop control, so do not assume a particular switch exists.
- Preview the scene and listen to the clip. Confirm that the desired language audio plays and that the video appears as intended before you start the broadcast.
If your version does not offer a repeat setting suitable for a single Video File source, use a Video Playlist if continuous playback fits your setup. XSplit documents continuous playback for that source, but the exact controls available may depend on the installed version.
Use a Video Playlist for continuous playback
- Add a Video Playlist source to the scene and select the clips you want in the sequence.
- Configure the playlist’s playback and looping behavior using the controls available in your installed version. XSplit documents continuous playback and looping effects for playlist sources, but its cited source page does not provide a full control-by-control walkthrough.
- Preview the whole sequence. Check that each clip has the expected audio, that transitions or gaps are acceptable, and that the sequence continues as intended.
For general setup guidance, see XSplit Support’s Sources Menu introduction and advanced tips.

Troubleshoot playback and the YouTube output
- The video does not appear: Confirm that the source was added to the active scene and that the selected local file is accessible. Reopen the source properties and preview the scene.
- A single clip stops instead of repeating: The cited documentation does not identify a specific Video File loop switch. Inspect your version’s Playback controls; if they do not provide suitable repeat behavior, try a Video Playlist for documented continuous playback.
- A clip plays, but the expected language is missing: Check the media file itself and its audio during scene preview. These sources do not establish automatic language-track selection in XSplit.
- The playlist does not continue as expected: Recheck the playlist sequence and its available looping settings, then preview through the end of the sequence. The exact setup options are not enumerated in the cited source page.
- YouTube does not show the expected live event: Revisit Broadcast > YouTube, verify the selected event and its details in YouTube Studio, and check current channel eligibility and the pre-stream prompts.
- Captions are unavailable or wrong: Confirm both XSplit’s Send Caption setting and YouTube’s Closed Captions option, then verify that the language is supported by the options in your installed version. The release notes do not list supported languages.
