To loop a pre-recorded meditation video on YouTube Live, send it through an encoder or compatible streaming service and enable repeat playback there. YouTube Studio creates and manages the live stream, but it does not provide a universal loop switch for prerecorded video. You need an eligible channel, the video and audio rights for live use, and a test of the video and its audio at the loop point before you rely on the stream.
What you need to loop a meditation video
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to livestream.
- A prerecorded video file and the rights to livestream every visual and audio element in it.
- An encoder or compatible streaming service that can send the file to YouTube and repeat it.
- A stable internet connection if you use a local encoder on your computer.
An encoder converts the video into a format YouTube can receive. YouTube’s documented workflow is to create a stream in Live Control Room, copy its stream URL and key into the encoder, then start sending the feed. The repeat control belongs to the encoder or service; its name and location depend on the product.
Check channel eligibility and prepare ahead
YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel without live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general livestreaming guidance says creators must be at least 16. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so activate it well before the intended start. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements because platform rules can change.
For a planned launch, YouTube advises setting up the encoder at least two hours ahead and starting it at least 15 minutes before the event. Those are useful buffers for a loop launch, not guarantees that a stream will remain uninterrupted.

Set up the YouTube stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Create a new stream or schedule one. Set its title, audience and visibility as appropriate. Use a private or unlisted test before making the stream public.
- In the stream settings, copy the YouTube stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and reset it if it is exposed.
- In your encoder’s streaming or server settings, paste the stream URL and key into the corresponding fields.
YouTube creates the watch page when the encoder begins sending a stream. To end the broadcast, stop sending content from the encoder. YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume the same archive behavior for a longer broadcast. Configure the encoder to repeat the video
Select the prerecorded meditation file as the encoder’s source, then enable its repeat, loop or playlist-repeat option. The exact control varies by encoder, so consult the product’s current documentation rather than looking for a loop option in YouTube Studio. If you use a playlist, confirm whether the encoder repeats one item or the entire playlist; those behaviors are not interchangeable.

Choose a resolution and bitrate your upload connection can sustain. YouTube recommends upload capacity at least 20% above the stream’s total bitrate. That margin is guidance, not a guarantee against network drops. Prefer a stable wired connection for a local encoder where practical, and avoid other heavy uploads while streaming. Test the complete loop before going public
- Start a private or unlisted test stream and wait for the preview in Live Control Room.
- Let the video play through its end and into the next repetition. Confirm that the selected loop behavior is correct and that the picture does not freeze or unexpectedly restart.
- Listen closely to the audio transition. Check for silence, a click, a sudden volume change or an abrupt cut where the file repeats.
- Open the watch page on a second device to verify what viewers receive, not only what the encoder preview shows.
- Monitor audio and video continuously after launch. YouTube recommends checking stream quality while live; a test cannot rule out a later connection or playback problem.

Check music, ambience and visual rights
Make sure you have the rights needed to broadcast every part of the meditation video, including music, ambient recordings, nature sounds, spoken guidance, stock footage and artwork. A license for an ordinary video upload may not grant livestreaming rights or worldwide rights. YouTube’s terms place responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights, including music rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a warning, a placeholder in place of the stream, or an interruption or termination if the issue is not resolved. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID for the stream to avoid interruption. Archived livestreams may also receive Content ID claims after they end. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and arrange any needed allowlisting before broadcasting.

Choose local playback or a cloud service
A local software encoder is suitable when you can keep the computer, encoder and internet connection running and monitor them. For unattended continuous streaming, a cloud service can run playback without relying on your home computer. YouTube’s encoder guidance identifies Gyre as a cloud-based service for 24/7 prerecorded streaming; check its current features and terms directly before choosing it.

Troubleshoot common loop problems
- No preview appears: Check that the encoder is running, the stream URL and key are entered in the correct fields, and YouTube Live is enabled for the channel. If the key may be compromised, reset it in YouTube’s stream settings and update the encoder.
- The video plays once and stops: The repeat control may not be enabled, or the encoder may be set to repeat a playlist rather than the file (or vice versa). Check the encoder’s playback settings and test through a full cycle.
- Audio has a gap or abrupt join: Inspect the recording’s start and end, adjust or edit the transition if needed, then test the join on the live page. Do not assume a clean video loop also produces a clean audio loop.
- The feed drops or looks unstable: Compare total stream bitrate with available upload capacity, allowing the 20% headroom YouTube recommends. Check for network congestion and use a stable wired connection where possible.
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the stream: Review Live Control Room alerts and check for a Content ID match. Confirm that your license covers livestreaming and that the rights holder has allowlisted your channel if required.
- The archive is missing: YouTube’s cited automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. For longer streams, do not rely on automatic archiving under that rule.
