To keep a YouTube playlist repeating, open it in the YouTube app and turn on playlist-level Loop or Repeat. On a TV, select Repeat until it shows “Repeat • Playlist.” You do not need a separate paid streaming subscription just to use playlist repeat, and you do not need to buy a streaming device if YouTube already works on your TV.
Loop a playlist on a TV or streaming device
- Open the YouTube app on your TV or compatible streaming device and start the playlist.
- Press the down button on your remote or game controller to show playback controls.
- Select Repeat. If needed, select it again until the control reads “Repeat • Playlist”. YouTube says the same repeat toggle may also be available in Settings while watching. YouTube’s TV instructions describe this playlist-repeat label.
Control placement can vary by TV model and app version. If you cannot find the option, check that the YouTube app is up to date and consult the instructions for your exact TV or device.
Loop a playlist on a computer
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist panel beside the video.
- Select Loop in the playlist box. This repeats the playlist. Right-clicking the video player and choosing repeat is a separate control for repeating one video. See YouTube Help.
Loop a playlist on an Android phone or tablet
- Start a video in the playlist.
- In the playlist control box below the video, tap Loop once to repeat the playlist.
- If you tap Loop again and a “1” appears on the icon, YouTube will repeat only the current video. Tap again to cycle back as needed. The steps are in YouTube Help for Android.
If you use YouTube Music
YouTube Music has its own player and repeat control; its controls are separate from the standard YouTube app. While an album or playlist is playing, set Repeat to repeat the full album or playlist. A mode marked with “1” repeats only the current song or video. YouTube Music’s help says repeat is available with its ad-supported offering; Premium adds other benefits, but the cited help does not make Premium a requirement for playlist repeat. See YouTube Music Help.
Do you need a streaming device for your TV?
No, not if your television already runs the YouTube app. If it does not, a compatible streaming device is one option for adding access. YouTube’s supported-device directory lists platforms including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV streaming devices, Apple TV (4th generation or later), Chromecast, Google TV streaming devices, and Roku. The list is not exhaustive, and support can vary by individual model, so check your exact device before buying.

Amazon has announced YouTube availability on compatible Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K devices in India. In May 2026, it also announced the Fire TV Stick HD launch in India and listed YouTube among its available apps. Treat a Fire TV Stick as an optional way to add YouTube to a compatible television—not as a requirement for looping. Check current local availability and the specific model’s app support. Repeat is different from autoplay
Playlist repeat returns to the playlist when it reaches the end. Autoplay instead starts another related video after the current video ends. If your goal is to keep the same playlist cycling, use Repeat or Loop rather than relying on autoplay. Autoplay settings have separate controls on mobile, computer, and TV; see YouTube’s autoplay help.

What to check if the playlist stops or repeats one item
- Only one video repeats: Look for a “1” on the repeat icon and tap or select the control again to switch away from repeat-one.
- The next video is unrelated: Autoplay may be on while playlist repeat is off. Turn on Loop or Repeat for the playlist.
- You cannot find Repeat on a TV: Show the playback controls with the remote, check Settings while watching, and confirm the app and model support the current YouTube app. Control locations differ.
- You are casting from YouTube Music: YouTube Music can cast to a TV and control playback through the full YouTube app, but available repeat controls may depend on what is playing and what is in the queue. See YouTube Music’s connected-device instructions; the exact loop controls are not specified for every casting setup.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a different task—keeping uploaded videos live on a YouTube channel around the clock—StreamNeo is a cloud service, not a way to loop a playlist inside the YouTube app. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free first day with StreamNeo.
