To loop a Tamil sleep meditation on YouTube Live, play a prerecorded video in OBS Studio using a looping Media Source, then send OBS’s feed to YouTube through the Live Control Room. The loop runs while your computer, OBS, media file and internet connection stay available. You can use one finished video or a playlist; the steps below cover setup, stream quality, testing, copyright and common problems.
Prepare the meditation and check your rights
Make a finished video file with the Tamil narration, music and visuals mixed and checked. Use content you created or have permission to broadcast. Keep a local copy and play the entire file before streaming so you can catch unwanted silence, abrupt endings, audio imbalance or visual glitches.
OBS Media Source supports common local video and audio formats, but seamless transitions are not guaranteed for every file, codec, computer or scene setup. Preview the scene and listen through the point where playback returns to the beginning. If you want a still image while the audio continues, use a finished audiovisual file or verify the separate video and audio sources in your chosen scene; OBS does not guarantee that behavior for every configuration. See OBS Media Sources.
Loop the video in OBS
For one meditation file
- Open OBS Studio and create or select a scene for the meditation.
- In the Sources box, select + > Media Source. Give the source a name, then select OK.
- In the source properties, enable Local File if needed and browse to the finished video.
- Enable Loop, then select OK. OBS will play the file again after it finishes.
- Check the preview for framing and listen for the audio. Let the file reach its end and confirm that the restart sounds and looks acceptable.
For a playlist of clips
- Install VLC for the same system architecture as OBS if it is not already installed.
- In the scene’s Sources box, select + > VLC Video.
- Add the files in the order you want them to play and enable Loop Playlist.
- Preview the transitions, audio levels and final-to-first clip boundary before broadcasting.
OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC being available; if the source is missing, check the installation and architecture. Interface labels can differ by OBS version.

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Confirm that your channel can live stream. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream in the Live Control Room. Set an accurate title and description, select the appropriate language and audience details, and choose Public, Private or Unlisted visibility.
- Open the stream settings, select the stream tab and copy the stream URL and stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube or the appropriate YouTube ingest option, and enter the stream key or connect the account if that option is available in your OBS version.
- Keep the key private. YouTube says, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” If it is exposed, reset it in the Live Control Room and update OBS.
- Use RTMPS when available for encrypted delivery. Consult YouTube’s live stream settings guidance for current controls such as scheduling and auto-start.
Scheduling can help subscribers see an upcoming broadcast. YouTube says tags have minimal discovery value except when a term is commonly misspelled, so focus on a clear title and description rather than relying on tags.
Choose OBS video and audio settings
YouTube’s recommendations are starting points, not a guarantee that a particular connection can sustain a setting. Match output to your source and test the actual upload connection. The figures below are YouTube’s general recommendations in its encoder settings guide.

- The new generation of the songwriter's interface: Plug in your mic and guitar and let Scarlett Solo 4th Gen bring big studio sound to wherever you make music
- Studio-quality sound: With a huge 120dB dynamic range, the newest generation of Scarlett uses the same converters as Focusrite’s flagship interfaces, found in the world's biggest studios
- Find your signature sound: Scarlett 4th Gen's improved Air mode lifts vocals and guitars to the front of the mix, adding musical presence and rich harmonic drive to your recordings

- Everything in the box: Includes Pro Tools Intro+, Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE, and Hitmaker Expansion: a suite of essential effects, powerful software instruments, and easy-to-use mastering tools
| Setting | Recommended starting point |
|---|---|
| Delivery | RTMPS |
| Video codec | H.264 |
| Rate control | CBR |
| Frame rate | Up to 60 fps, subject to source and connection |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Audio codec | AAC or MP3 |
| Stereo audio | AAC at 128 Kbps is YouTube’s recommended advanced setting |
| H.264 video bitrate, 1080p at 30 fps | 5–14 Mbps |
| H.264 video bitrate, 720p at 30 fps | 3–8 Mbps |
In OBS, set the output resolution and frame rate to suit the file and intended stream, then configure the encoder’s rate control, bitrate and keyframe interval accordingly. A lower resolution or bitrate may be more reliable if the connection cannot sustain the chosen output. Avoid selecting settings solely because they are the maximum available.
Check upload capacity, then test and start
- Run an upload-speed test on the same connection the streaming computer will use. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom; shared network traffic can reduce what is available to OBS. Its streaming tips also warn that network disruption can break the feed.
- Set up OBS and YouTube ahead of time. Start streaming from OBS and wait for the preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
- Check that the video is framed correctly, Tamil speech is clear, music is not overpowering, audio meters are active and the loop boundary works. Use representative audio and movement when testing.
- Check stream health in the Live Control Room. If the stream is scheduled and not set to auto-start, start the broadcast in YouTube when the preview is ready.
- Monitor the picture, audio and connection throughout the broadcast. If practical, open the live watch page on a separate device to check what viewers receive.
A wired Ethernet connection can be useful if your setup supports it, but a cable cannot compensate for inadequate upload capacity. Once streaming from a local encoder, keep the computer, OBS, media file and network available; stopping the encoder ends the incoming feed. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived when the encoder stops sending. That guidance does not establish that a stream lasting 12 hours or longer will be fully archived, so arrange a separate recording or archive plan if preserving a longer overnight program matters. See YouTube’s encoder streaming guidance.

Protect the stream from copyright and monetization problems
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including other live broadcasts. If it detects a match, it may show a placeholder image and warn you to stop; if the match continues, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. For licensed content, YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the live stream to proceed. A Content ID claim on an archived live stream can also appear after the broadcast ends. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Permission to use material and eligibility for monetization are separate questions. YouTube’s monetization policy update dated July 15, 2025 renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content” and clarifies that the policy covers repetitive or mass-produced material, including livestreams. A working loop or licensed soundtrack does not by itself make a channel or stream eligible. Make the meditation meaningfully original and assess it against YouTube’s channel monetization policies, including its reused-content rules.

Troubleshoot common loop and stream failures
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The file stops instead of restarting | Loop is off, or the wrong source is playing. | Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For a multi-clip source, enable Loop Playlist in VLC Video. |
| VLC Video is unavailable | VLC is not installed, or its architecture does not match OBS. | Install VLC for the same system architecture as OBS, then reopen OBS and check the Sources menu. |
| YouTube does not show an encoder preview | The stream key or URL may be incorrect, OBS may not be sending, or the channel may not be able to stream yet. | Check OBS > Settings > Stream, confirm the key matches the active Live Control Room stream, and verify channel eligibility and activation status. |
| The stream buffers or loses health | The encoder’s total bitrate may be too high for the available upload bandwidth, or the network may be disrupted or shared. | Check stream health, retest upload speed on the streaming connection, reduce output bitrate or resolution, and leave the recommended 20% headroom. |
| The preview has no sound or levels are too low | The file’s audio may be missing, muted or routed differently from the scene preview. | Play the file locally, check OBS audio meters and source mute controls, and confirm the mix before restarting the broadcast. |
| The stream is interrupted for a rights warning | YouTube may have detected third-party material. | Stop or replace the matched content. If you have a license, check whether the rights holder must allowlist your channel for live Content ID; permission alone may not prevent an interruption if that step is required. |
