To keep an OBS YouTube playlist live over JioFiber, make sure the connection can sustain your chosen bitrate, leave about 20% upload headroom, use Ethernet if possible, and monitor both OBS and YouTube’s stream health. No bitrate is guaranteed for every JioFiber connection: test from the computer that will stream, then lower the output demand if network-dropped frames appear.
Check whether your JioFiber upload can sustain the stream
Measure upload performance on the computer and connection you will use for OBS. A speed-test result is a useful starting point, but it cannot guarantee a stable route to YouTube’s ingest server over a long session. Pause other household uploads where possible and leave bandwidth for other network activity.
YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom. For example, its H.264 recommendation of 17 Mbps for 1080p60 implies about 21.25 Mbps of available upload when applying that headroom (17 ÷ 0.8), before accounting for other upload activity. This is an arithmetic illustration of YouTube’s recommendation, not a measured JioFiber result or a promise about any subscriber’s service. YouTube’s network guidance says the total stream bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends room above it.
Jio’s FAQ describes using Jio NetVelocity on a Jio Set Top Box to check upload speed, latency, network quality, and Wi-Fi or LAN performance. It also suggests restarting the router, using LAN, or running MyJio diagnostics if results are below expectation. These checks can help troubleshoot, but a Set Top Box test is not a measurement of the streaming computer’s sustained route to YouTube. Jio’s speed-test instructions do not establish a special JioFiber OBS setting or a guaranteed upload rate for an individual connection.

Choose OBS output settings for the connection
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists RTMP or RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265 or AV1, constant bitrate (CBR), up to 60 frames per second, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (do not exceed four seconds). It recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingest. Choose a codec supported by your OBS setup and YouTube workflow; do not assume that the highest available resolution is best for a continuous stream. YouTube’s encoder settings give these H.264 bitrate recommendations:

These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not measurements of JioFiber capacity. If your connection cannot sustain the selected bitrate with headroom, reduce bitrate, resolution, or frame rate and test again.

Connect OBS to YouTube and test before going public
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the live stream and retrieve its stream URL and stream key.
- In OBS, open the streaming settings and enter the YouTube server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password; if it is exposed, reset it through Live Control Room.
- Start the encoder and check YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators. Test with representative audio and moving video before making the broadcast public.
- Watch OBS’s connection status and dropped-frame counter during the test. A test should run long enough to reveal whether the connection remains stable under the intended output settings.
OBS can send a local playlist or other video source into a live encoder, but exact playlist-looping controls depend on the current OBS interface and source or plugin workflow. Confirm the controls in the OBS version you use rather than relying on unverified click-by-click steps. A playlist that viewers watch on YouTube is different: ordinary YouTube playlist playback does not create a live stream.
Also plan archive needs separately. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume a continuous broadcast longer than that will be retained as one complete archive. YouTube’s encoder-stream setup guidance describes the archive rule.

Fix OBS dropped frames and disconnections
OBS distinguishes network-dropped frames from encoder or rendering lag. Check OBS Statistics and logs to see which counter is rising before changing encoder or hardware settings. According to OBS’s connection troubleshooting guide, network-dropped frames mean the connection to the ingest server is unstable or cannot sustain the configured bitrate.

- Prefer Ethernet. OBS notes that Wi-Fi may be unstable for streaming and recommends a wired connection when practical.
- Reduce competing traffic. Stop other uploads and retest. If the counter still rises, lower the stream bitrate or output resolution and frame rate.
- Check software and drivers. Review VPNs, security software, network-prioritization utilities, and network drivers. OBS documents Windows-only options for network optimizations, TCP pacing, and dynamic bitrate; dynamic bitrate may lower quality and does not repair an underlying connection problem.
- Change one thing at a time. Retest after each change and restore defaults if an adjustment does not help.
Jio NetVelocity or MyJio diagnostics can help identify local network issues, but they do not prove that the OBS computer has a stable, sustained connection to YouTube ingest. If possible, compare behavior over Ethernet and at a lower bitrate.
