If you mean a playlist you are watching, turn on playlist Loop in the YouTube player. These are two different problems, so first identify whether the playlist is on your screen as a viewer or is the content source for your broadcast.
First identify which playlist has ended
A YouTube viewer playlist is a list played in the regular YouTube player. A relaxation livestream, by contrast, is a broadcast sent from a creator’s encoder to YouTube. The viewer-side Loop control repeats a playlist for playback; it is not a setting that keeps a creator’s encoder supplied with media.
- Watching: You want the playlist to play again after its last video.
- Broadcasting: Your source media reaches its end, and the encoder may stop sending content to YouTube.
If you are watching a YouTube playlist
Start a video from the playlist, then turn on the playlist’s Loop control. YouTube’s steps differ by device:
- Computer: Expand the playlist and click Loop.
- Android: Use the playback controls to turn on playlist Loop.
- TV or game console: Use the playback controls to turn on playlist Loop.
Make sure you have enabled the playlist’s repeat control, not merely a single-video repeat option. Google’s IFrame Player API says looping is off by default; with it off, playback ends after the final playlist item. See YouTube’s playlist repeat instructions and the IFrame Player API reference.

If you run the relaxation livestream
The encoder sends your live video and audio to YouTube using a stream URL and stream key. The source feeding the encoder must keep producing content; YouTube Help states, “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” If a media file or source playlist finishes and the playback workflow stops, the encoder can stop sending content and the broadcast can end. 1. Configure the source to repeat or restart
Use the repeat or restart feature in the software or playback system supplying media to your encoder. The precise setting depends on that software; YouTube’s cited encoder instructions explain how to send a stream, not how to loop a creator’s source playlist. Verify the behavior with the playback software’s own documentation rather than assuming YouTube’s viewer Loop control applies to the live feed.

2. Test the complete end-to-start transition
- Set up the same source, playback workflow, and encoder you intend to use live.
- Run a private or unlisted test stream and let the source reach its final item.
- Watch and listen through the transition back to the beginning. Confirm that both picture and audio continue and that the encoder keeps sending content.
- If the source stops, adjust its repeat or restart behavior and test the full transition again before relying on it for a public broadcast.
3. Keep network and encoder failures separate from an empty source
A looping source cannot fix a lost upload connection or a failed encoder. YouTube advises allowing bandwidth headroom and recommends testing a backup encoder by stopping or disconnecting the primary one to check failover. Plan and test for source exhaustion, network interruption, and encoder failure as separate risks. Read YouTube’s streaming tips.
4. If you use HLS ingestion
HLS has a rolling media-segment playlist requirement: YouTube’s guidance says it must have no more than five outstanding segments. This concerns transport segments, not the list of relaxation videos you want to repeat. YouTube’s HLS setup guidance also lists compatible encoder software, including OBS.

5. Check the stream key and archive expectations
Use the stream URL and key YouTube provides for the broadcast, and confirm the encoder is sending to that configured destination. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; this is an archive behavior, not a promise that a stream will continue if the encoder stops sending content.
