To keep a Hindi devotional video playlist live on YouTube from a cloud server, prepare video and audio you have permission to rebroadcast, run playlist and encoder software on a cloud server, and send its feed to a YouTube broadcast using the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. YouTube documents a 24/7 broadcast use case, but the server, playlist loop, monitoring and recovery are yours to arrange unless you use a managed service.
1. Check YouTube live-stream eligibility
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and instructions for creating a live stream with an encoder.
2. Prepare a playlist you can legally broadcast
Collect the video and audio files that your playlist software will play. Confirm that you own the necessary rights or have a license that covers public online streaming and rebroadcasting on YouTube. Devotional subject matter does not by itself make a recording free to use: a bhajan, kirtan, Gurbani recording, performance, arrangement, video, or sound recording may have separate rights.
A copy of a track or a YouTube watch-page link does not establish permission to rebroadcast it. The YouTube encoder documentation describes sending an encoder feed to YouTube; it does not establish that arbitrary third-party YouTube streams can be used as playlist inputs. Follow YouTube’s live-streaming policies and eligibility guidance, and check the rights for every item before adding it.

3. Choose how to run the playlist and encoder
Self-managed cloud server
Provision a cloud server in a region and plan suitable for your needs, then install playlist playout and encoder software that can read your media, repeat the playlist, and send a continuous feed to YouTube. You are responsible for selecting the software and server size, making media accessible to it, supervising the process, and arranging monitoring and restarts. Server requirements vary with the software and the resolution, frame rate, and codec you choose; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not specify a cloud-server size.
Before committing to a setup, confirm that the chosen software supports the media formats and output settings you need, and that the cloud provider permits the intended continuous streaming workload. Plan how the playlist should behave at the end of its queue, what happens if a file fails, and how the encoder should restart after a process or server interruption. The exact configuration depends on the software and provider; no single implementation is established by YouTube’s documentation.

4. Create a YouTube broadcast and connect your encoder
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live and set up a broadcast. If live streaming has not been enabled on the channel before, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- In the live setup, locate the YouTube Live server URL and stream key. Treat the key as a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast. Store it only in the encoder configuration or secret storage needed by your server, and do not publish it in scripts, logs, or screenshots.
- Configure the server’s encoder to send the playlist output to YouTube using that server URL and key. For RTMP-based ingest, YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection to Google’s servers.
- Start with a private or otherwise non-public test broadcast if appropriate for your channel, and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before announcing the continuous stream.

5. Set output quality to match the server’s sustained connection
Pick a resolution and frame rate that the server and its network connection can sustain continuously. YouTube’s published bitrate values are recommendations for encoder ingest, not a measure of audience demand. For H.264 at 1080p and 30 fps, YouTube lists 5 Mbps as the minimum and 14 Mbps as the recommended bitrate. The server needs reliable upload capacity for the selected bitrate, with room for overhead and ordinary fluctuations.
- Use a supported video codec: H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1. YouTube lists AAC and MP3 as supported audio codecs.
- Set a constant bitrate (CBR) for the encoder output.
- Use a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says the interval should not exceed four seconds.
- For RTMP(S) ingestion, choose RTMPS where your encoder supports it.
- Test the stream using representative audio and video motion, then monitor YouTube’s stream-health indications while it runs.
Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution recommendations for other resolutions, frame rates, and codecs. Do not assume a cloud server’s advertised network speed guarantees that it can sustain the chosen output continuously; test the actual stream.

6. Plan for long runtimes, interruptions, and archives
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a channel with a 24/7 live feed alongside a separate broadcast. That documents a possible broadcast model; it is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service or a specification for your server. Read the API explanation of broadcasts and streams if you need to understand how YouTube represents those resources.
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that one continuous stream longer than that will produce one complete archive. Decide whether your channel needs recorded copies, verify current archive behavior in YouTube Studio, and establish a deliberate restart or segmentation plan if archive length matters. A restart can also interrupt playback, so test the effect on the viewer-facing stream before using it in production.

Arrange monitoring for both the encoder process and YouTube’s stream health. Configure your server’s process supervision or equivalent recovery mechanism to detect a stopped encoder and attempt a restart, and decide how you will be alerted if recovery fails. YouTube’s documentation does not define your server’s playlist loop, supervision, alerts, storage needs, or recovery policy.
7. Troubleshoot common failures
