A 24/7 YouTube stream is not automatically ineligible for monetization just because it runs continuously, but looping your own prerecorded videos does not guarantee approval either. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and assesses whether the channel’s content is original, meaningfully varied, and valuable to viewers. Its published rules do not set a safe loop length, repeat count, or definitive outcome for this exact format.
Does YouTube allow monetization of a 24/7 stream that repeats videos?
There is no published yes-or-no ruling specifically for a nonstop livestream that repeatedly loops the creator’s own prerecorded videos. YouTube’s channel monetization policy says that “video” includes Shorts, long-form videos, and live streaming. It focuses on the nature and value of the content, not on a rule that a stream must stop after a certain number of hours. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
That distinction matters: a continuous schedule is not, by itself, the same thing as repetitive or mass-produced content. But owning the footage, operating the stream around the clock, or having permission to use every asset does not by itself establish YPP eligibility. YouTube does not publish a guaranteed loop duration, maximum number of repeats, or percentage of repeated footage that makes a stream safe.
What YouTube evaluates: inauthentic content and reused content
Inauthentic content: repetition without enough distinct value
In 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy “inauthentic content.” The clarification describes content that is repetitive or mass-produced, including material that is generic, interchangeable, or lacks viewer value. Similar formats can still be monetized when the substance differs materially and provides creative, educational, or other value. YouTube’s examples allow a consistent intro and outro around substantially different material, or a series whose entries have distinct storylines, focus, or concepts. Its disallowed examples include repetitive material with little educational value, commentary, or narrative and templated material with little or no narrative or educational value.

For a continuous stream, make the meaningful differences apparent in what viewers actually encounter—not just in titles, thumbnails, or minor edits. There is no official numeric repetition test; cosmetic changes are not a reliable way to demonstrate value.
Reused content: a separate channel-wide review
Reused-content review concerns material already available on YouTube or elsewhere that is republished without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. It is separate from copyright review and applies to the channel as a whole. YouTube says permission and fair use do not determine the reused-content outcome. A license can address rights to use material, but it does not by itself establish that a channel meets YPP’s reused-content policy. The current policy and examples are on YouTube’s policy page.

Build a repeated-video stream around substantive variation
Use this self-audit before making a prerecorded loop the channel’s main programming. These checks apply YouTube’s published principles; they are not an approval formula or guarantee.
- Assess what changes in the actual viewing experience. Identify differences in the substance of each segment: for example, distinct topics, performances, explanations, stories, or meaningful editorial treatment. If a viewer can encounter essentially the same material each time, a new title or small visual change is unlikely to address the underlying concern.
- Make the viewer benefit clear. Consider what creative, educational, contextual, or entertainment value the stream provides beyond keeping a video signal live. Original narration, useful context, or genuinely different programming may contribute when it is substantive, not merely decorative.
- Check the source of every element. Keep records of who created the footage, music, images, and other material, and what rights cover its use. Then separately assess whether any borrowed or previously published material has sufficient original contribution for reused-content review.
- Review the whole channel, not just the live window. YouTube says reviewers may consider the channel’s main theme, most-viewed and newest videos, the share of watch time attributable to videos, metadata, and the About section. Ensure these collectively make the channel’s authorship and viewer value understandable; accurate descriptions help explain the content but do not replace substantive originality.
- Reassess when the programming changes. A format that varies meaningfully can become less distinct if the channel increasingly repeats the same segments. Review the stream and its surrounding library as viewers and reviewers will encounter them, rather than relying on a one-time setup decision.
Meet YPP and live-stream monetization requirements separately
Content quality is only one part of monetization. YouTube’s current YouTube Partner Program eligibility page lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the preceding 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the preceding 90 days for ad revenue eligibility, alongside other program requirements and a channel review. These are entry conditions, not a promise of acceptance. YPP is available only in eligible countries or regions, and monetized content must also comply with advertiser-friendly rules.

For Watch Page ad and YouTube Premium revenue from long-form or live-streaming videos, a YPP partner must accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube explains this in Choose how you want to monetize. Meeting the numerical threshold or accepting the module does not override content-policy review.
If YouTube disables monetization
YouTube lists violations of channel monetization policies, advertiser-friendly guidelines, and other program policies among reasons monetization can be disabled. Read the channel-specific notice in YouTube Studio and follow the current review or appeal instructions linked from Monetization is disabled for my channel.
