The standard Chrome installation process applies; the official instructions do not describe a separate India-specific setup.
Install FireShot in Chrome on a computer
- Open Chrome on the computer where you want to use the extension. Visit the FireShot listing in the Chrome Web Store and check that its name is Take Webpage Screenshots Entirely – FireShot and that it is published by the FireShot developer.
- Select Add to Chrome.
- Read the permissions Chrome displays. If you are comfortable granting them, select Add extension to confirm. Google explains that permissions indicate what an extension may be able to access; the warning is not, by itself, proof that an extension is unsafe or safe. See Google’s explanation of extension permissions.
- After Chrome finishes installing it, select the puzzle-piece Extensions icon beside the address bar to find FireShot. To keep it visible, open the Extensions menu and pin FireShot to the toolbar.

Take your first screenshot
FireShot’s getting-started page lists three ways to start a capture: select its toolbar button, right-click the webpage and choose FireShot from the context menu, or use Ctrl+Shift+S. The documented shortcut is for this setup guide; Mac-specific shortcut behavior is not established here, so use the menu or toolbar if that key combination does not work.

If Chrome will not let you install it
- You are in Incognito or Guest mode: Google says extensions cannot be added while Chrome is being used in either mode. Switch to a regular Chrome window and retry.
- This is a work or school computer: An administrator may have blocked extension installation. Contact the organization’s administrator rather than trying to bypass its policy.
- You are using Chrome on a phone: Google documents a flow in which you find the extension in Chrome and choose Add to Desktop. It is installed when Chrome is opened on the computer. The extension is intended for use in desktop Chrome, not as a phone installation.
- You are unsure about the permission prompt: Pause and review the access Chrome says FireShot may have. Install only if you trust the extension and are comfortable with the requested scope.
Is FireShot free, and do you need Pro?
FireShot’s post-install page describes the basic extension as free forever. Its purchase page lists Pro for $39.95 per year or a $99.95 one-time lifetime license; those prices were observed on 3 October 2026 and may change, so confirm the current offer on the FireShot Pro purchase page. Pro is optional for installation. The publisher describes additional Pro features including advanced PDF export, annotations, capture history, batch captures, and automated captures.
Privacy statements to understand
The Chrome Web Store listing’s developer declaration says the developer will not collect or use user data. FireShot’s post-install page says captures are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded to external servers. These are statements from the listing and publisher, not an independent safety guarantee. Review Chrome’s permission prompt and the publisher’s current information before deciding whether to install.
